LOL, Vickie! That's funny you should say that about the Brazilian place, because I eat like 68 cents worth of meat and am always afraid they'll get mad at me. Thankfully the salad bar is always good at those restaurants.

I slept from 12 til 4, then 5 til 7. I guess my body is saying that 6 hours is enough, but I tend to disagree seeing how I'm still a bit tired this morning. I didn't get to work until 7:45, which is about an hour later than I had wanted to. I guess I'll try again tomorrow ... what else can I do?

People are talking to me so I'll be back in a little while.

Kathy, heck no they don't get mad. People like you make up for the people like my Nephew who can eat about 3 pounds of meat!!! They have to make up their money some how!

Niki, great article! Thanks for sharing. I need to reread this once in a while since I am a daily scale rider. Several of us here are. I knew about the weight of the food and water but I didn't know about glycogen and dehydration.

Ok, chicks, I'm off to errands and won't be home until late afternoon. Have a good program day.

Vickie I forgot to mention I made the "Almost Apple Cake" Yesterday. I didn't have Apple Pie Spice so I used Nutmeg. It came out delicious, almost like a oatmeal cereal bar but better, very moist cake like. Even my picky husband ate some this morning and was commenting how good it is.

I'm glad you mentioned the cake again. I was making my grocery list and I have a questions. It says one serving of vanilla FF/SF pudding. Did you use the whole small box or just 1/4 of it? Sorry to be such a recipe moron!

I am thinking it was probably 1/4 of it, but with the whole box it came out nice & moist.

Saundra, thanks for the idea, I will try it for breakfast tomorrow.
I am really tired, since I have been up since about 3 this morning, so I think I will go take a nap. We are having a yard sale in a few weeks so I am trying to get that stuff together but I am just not in the mood right now. Maybe some sleep will help. I will check back later.

good morning. i'm staying at home today getting ready for the colonoscopy tomorrow. sure a good way to lose weight.

paula, thank you for the tip on freezing berries.

nikki, good decision. you're doing the right thing. i hope an afternoon class opens for you.

saundra, enjoy your day at ww.

vickie, i wish i could go shopping with you sometime. we'd have a blast. we did hot tub last night. i went to the club earlier for aquafit but didn't hot tub there. (they have a sauna, too.) i thought i'd rather hot tub with curtis so i watied till i got home. i wish he had a club to go to to exercise. he hardly leaves the house without me. i did talk him into getting out today. he's gone to the archery range to plink arrows then do some weedeating. i'm going to try to send him fishing this afternoon. he needs to get out and have some fun.

i hope you can start using your pool tomorrow. you and jim enjoy that so much. just like we do the hot tub. again, wish i could go shopping with you. maybe some day.

kathy, i wish you could sleep more. i also wish we had a brazilian steakhouse nearby. what should my 3rd wish be?

nikki, thanks for sharing the article. i "ditto" what vickie said. i just copied your cake recipe. thanks for sharing. i'm going to try it soon.

got to go vacuum. have a great day, everyone. i'll be back later.

I did enjoy my hair appointment and I got highlights and a touch up and cut. I don't know about stunning but do I ever look like summer! It makes me feel different....better....better attitude. It's hard to explain. I wanted to go in the pool yesterday but the pool guy vacuumed all of that very fine baby powder like earth out of the pool and then shocked it again.
.....
Vickie...You should really wait before going in the pool after getting a color. Plus you have to be really careful when you have hilites and going in the pool. If they are blonde highlites, they may turn green from teh chlorine. and the Chlorine and shock will strip the color out. So you will end up with a funky orange color and spotty, streaky mess. Not to scare you but be careful.
I have been a hairdresser for 18 years ( although I havent done it in the last year, because of illness and allergies to the products) and I always tell my clients to protect their hair in the pool if they have to go under water. Wet your hair first with water then add a good conditioner to your hair and dont rinse before going in the pool. Paul Mitchels The Conditioner is Great for this, also great for sunburn, dry skin and shaving. This way your hair wont end up like a sponge to the chlorine.

Niki, I dont know if I could do all that in the morning but I would probalby make the most of it...Is it possible for you to take your other child to their school rather then going home and waiting for the bus? Maybe you could exercise during that time period that you drop off one child and the other child. It is a perfect time. (kind of wasted time when you are running around. Many schools in my area are open in the mornings and evenings so that you can walk to halls. You would be showing your child a great healthy thing and get an added benefit. My sons school also had early morning breakfast in the class rooms, maybe your child could do that?
Just a couple of Ideas.
The apple cake looks really great! I think I will try it this week.

Well yesterday went great. I did have an icecream cone last night, I did not have the points to spend but I did not have as much as I would have before weight watchers. I stress eat. and stress seems to be my middle name lately. My family will be growing by 2 this weekend when my sister brings her girls to live with me.. I dont know how long they will be living with me. They were taken away from her because her babysitter turned her in for leaving them home alone when she worked. Well they were never alone. If she was not working, they were with her and when she worked, they were with the baby sitter. They got on the bus there and got off the bus at her house. They were not alone, the county she lives in did not investigate at all, just took them and placed them with this baby sitter. An older women who is disabled and has a nurse with her during the days. I dont get it.

So I ate off Plan, I only had about 1 cup in a small cone, where I would have had a big bowl of it. So That is ok. I am staying on plan today, upping my veggies and fruit..

Well I have to go. It is lunch time and my 4 year old says she is starving and wants a salad. So I will get us salads for lunch with FF Ranch, chicken breast and chickpeas.

Talk to you all later. Have a great day!

tye - there are many of us in the same 'predicament' so you've come to the right place! Feel free to read thru our "coreporate profiles" and post one yourself so we can get to know you better!

Vickie - hope your shopping trip is turning out great...and you can swim in your pool soon (without your hair turning colors!).

Wendy - good luck with the 2 additional kids - I can't believe they would do that without investigating? How long with they be with you? How are they feeling about this?

I had always heard about the hair thing - and I also have blonde highlights but luckily so far have never had a problem in chlorinated water!

Kathy - did you find Shaun? Is he still alive? I sure hope you make him clean up his own mess!

Sandra - I'm glad you came home to hot tub w/Curtis - keep him busy and as happy as possible! Good luck tomorrow - so you can't eat anything today? Are you starving?

Niki - I agree that pm sounds best - no need to stress everyone out in the morning (reminds me of some of those supernanny episodes I have seen!).

Thanks for the excellent articles - I am a obsessive weigher and need to keep it in perspective!

Saundra - hope you are not working too hard - just think of it as more fun money to spend on yourself!

Melissa - okay you need to have more than water for breakfast? What's up with that? Are you taking those prenatal vitamins as directed? (Yes 'auntie froufie' is now after you! ha ha ha).

Paula - hope you are having a nice nap right about now (I could sure use one too!).

Which of course means no I did not get much good quality sleep last night - first dh hopping up and down everytime dd put the hall light on - and big ds had friends over after the hockey game so front door opening and closing. I had fallen asleep but w/dh 'monitoring' every activity I couldn't help but wake up.

But the worst is my left neck/shoulder - guess when I actually did sleep I slept funny so I now have shooting pains thru my shoulder neck area and can barely turn my head to the left (makes for fun driving when you're trying to shoulder check!). I had to go down to the drugstore to get more ES advil (no moe in my desk!)...and picked up a pill splitter and some chewable fibre supplements (for that other 'problem' I'm having - a side effect of the diuretics I think? I did not DARE weigh myself this morning! ). Not sure if I shall make it to the gym - unless I go and just do lower body stuff and not use my arms/neck?

Actually no - the worst is my staff member who recently came into my office and shut the door (you know when the door closes it's always bad news?) to inform me she has accepted another position (congratulations I say - smiling on the outside but you can bet inside I AM NOT SMILING!) and may be gone as early as mid-july (which is like in 3 weeks?). THIS IS NOT GOOD - I am trying to arrange a meeting w/my Director to see what has to be done. I may have one person who is interested and will try and get in touch with her today (do you ever get the feeling you should have stayed home instead of coming in to work?).

And it seems like my toronto gf has decided NOT to cruise with us (she even mentioned being like a 3rd wheel!). She is going to Disney w/her dh and dd end of August and this would be too soon and too much $$ - says she will look for xmas holiday cruise instead!

Last week of school for both ds and dd (who is now into exams and quite cranky). Ds is in a play friday aft so I shall leave work early (he is the grandfather in Peter and the Wolf!). Then we have his (early) birthday party on sat (bowling party for school friends - his real bday is end of July and no one is ever around then!).

Told dh to pick up some fresh fish for dinner - getting tired of chicken all the time!

wendy, thank you for posting info on saving hilites. i just got mine last week and have been extra careful with the water aerobics. so far so good. i commend you for taking in your nieces. i am proud of you for only having a small amount of ice cream. that's impressive. you're doing great.

nikki, i go in spells with the multi weighing. some weeks i don't go near the scales. some weeks--multi daily weighings. oh, well.

tye, i just lost 10+ and regained 10+ so i know what you're going through. this is a great group with oodles of support. jump right in.

frouf, you would be impressed with all the housework i got done in less than 2 hours. maybe i should fast more often. i'm chugging gatorade right now and will have a simmering cup of chicken broth for lunch. yes, i'm hungry. sorry about the worker leaving so soon. i'm not talking dirty here--but do you have a vibrator? i have one that has heat that we use for neck/shoulder pains. also heating pads might help relieve some of the stress.

a bowling bday party sounds like fun. we are thinking of taking our grands to "splash montana" a new waterpark here in town (just opened sunday for the first time) for her bday. her day is july 1 but she'll have a real party then. we'll take her and 11 yr old another day. we got her some nice goggles and other swim accessories for her bday. we had just bought her a swimsuit earlier. anyway, i'm rambling here. maybe i'm getting hungry again. more gatorade.

i hope you get to go to the gym. i think that would help relieve stress and might help end your pain. think about it.

i'm glad toronto gf isn't going. life is good.

melissa, just found this smiley and had to show it to you. i know you've been practicing, but have you taken any tests yet?

Time to head home! I am not going to the gym as I now have pain even when I'm sitting still. Just popped another es advil in advance of driving home - and trying to shoulder check without killing myself!

Sandra - impressed with your housecleaning - esp on an empty stomach. Sounds like you are holding up well so far - good for you. Hope you are not too famished.

I had my afternoon snack (soy cheese! yes I finally bought some soy cheese - okay a bit weird but not that bad!), and carrots and dip. Dh was not able to get fresh fish - but I have a frozen box of mahi-mahi in the freezer so I am going to try that out - and still hankering for some couscous - so I shall prepare that as well!

Not sure how I will even sleep or lie down tonight if my neck/shoulder are still hurting - may try the muscle relaxant stuff before bed - maybe I will actually SLEEP tonight - what a novel idea!

Later,

Frouf
