I'm home too. I saw five accidents, and I think all but one were single-car wrecks (i.e. hit the wall or ran off the road). I will never understand why people drive so fast when the roads aren't plowed.
It was icy this morning and I saw a lot of accidents, well actually both yesterday afternoon and this morning. Everybody got to work okay except this one dufus who was going too fast and hit a curb. They say he broke his axle. Whatever it is, the car is in the middle of the street with flashers going, and he's waiting for a wrecker. Dufus needs to slow down.
Hey all, I went to the dr, and he confirmed that I do indeed have an ear infection...he said a bunch of fluid had pooled up in there, yada yada. I got antibiotics, and hope to feel better soon.
It's really nasty and slick out there, but I was careful when I was out driving around. Things are starting to be cancelled, and it sounds like a good night to hang around home.
kathy, what a funny story. i can just see you trying to push that food into your mouth. as you can see by the temp thingee, it's warmer here now. i learned the hard way this am not to go outside while my hair was still wet. my next door neighbor said she ran out to put something in the trash and her hand stuck to the cyclone gate. it is cold!!
when i was taking bowling lessons, my coach told me i was add. surprised me. she had me taking deep breaths before each "roll." now i use deep breathing in archery. life is good.
you girls be careful out in the elements. i wouldn't want anyone to get hurt.
kim, congratulations on climbing back on that core wagon so quickly. i am proud of you. yep, floreing is for me right now. we have to do what works best for us, don't we?
we are in for the rest of the day but we'll be leaving for the tournament in pocatello, idaho (about 6 hours from here) tomorrow. curtis and i will take turns driving. after my drive to spokane, i'm ready for about anything.
I'm debating on whether I should go to the gym or not. The cardio pump and ab classes are cancelled. I called my sister and she said the roads aren't that bad here. I just feel like I need to make up for yesterday and the sauna sounds so good right now. I guess I'll go. TTYL.
Sandra, hope that you guys have a great time this weekend, and that the weather isn't too bad.
Kathy and Tanya, people are so silly in bad weather. In NC they were so not used to it. It was awful!! People would go fast and then slam on their brakes.
Vickie, glad that you are in for the evening.
Angela, I hope that you feel better soon and that the meds help quickly!
We're going to snuggle in and watch March of the Penguins.
i've been working on the archery club newsletter. now i'm heading downstairs to see if i can follow kathy's instructions and finish that famous potholder.
march of the penguins? is it good? we'll be watching survivor and the apprentice in a bit.
It was pretty good Sandra. It's actually a documentary about penguins. Very interesting. And you would probably enjoy it, being the BMW that you are. Loads of really great nature shots.
Evening everyone
Its not snowing here for a change but its darn cold though. That documentary sounds good Melissa I'll have to remember that. I want to watch Christmas with the Kranks too.. we dont have a movie theatre here so I have to wait till everythings out in DVD. My girls will be home soon so its time to watch lots of movies ,,,. Danny take care of yourself, sounds like a painful way to lose weight. Let us know how you make out on monday too.
Kim, having one bad day this week isnt going to blow it for you,,youve come too far...jump right back on and hang on. Your doing great! Sandra drive careful tomorrow..you have to watch out for the other guys! Good luck tomorrow too. Melissa we are used to driving in snow here but when we go tothe city its another story..makes me wonder how people got their license in the first place. Vickie I agree about having a second opinion...there must be something they can do for you...it just dosnt sound right.?? I just read an article in a magazine I get where there is a birth control pill out now where you will never have a period again...no pms, no bloating,,nothing...I read it briefly so I may have some info wrong on it but it sure sounded interesting. Its not available in Canada yet but it is in the states. Can you imagine?
Is everyone ready for christmas out there,,?? Im getting some baking and cooking done this weekend, have a few cards to mail out and clean my stove YUCK my least favourite job but I wanted to wait until my baking is done.
Off to watch ER then Survivor..
have a great day tomorrow everyone
ttyl
I did make it to the gym and had an excellent workout. I've kept my calories really low today and have made good choices. I am so ready for Christmas! I love the season and everything it represents. God has blessed me this year!
melissa, that sounds like a neat video. we've rented and watched quite a few documentaries. one of our favorites is about the national spelling bee. see it if you get a chance. you'll be rooting for those kids.
patti, when i drove to spokane, i thought i needed texas license plates so folks up here wouldn't be expecting me to know how to drive in snowy/icy conditions. i guess i blended in all right.
kim, i am proud of you for getting to the gym. sounds like you're making some healthy decisions.
Hey Chicks! I'm really exhausted. I just wanted to say good night. Jim and I have a lot of cleaning up to do here tomorrow. Got about 6-8 inches. Luckily, it's pretty fluffy.
Talk to you all tomorrow. I didn't make such good food choices but I'll be back on track tomorrow.
Mornin Everyone!! No snow or ice here....darn!! Anyway I am better.....emotionally (thank God)
Had a great talk with one of the leaders.....about core of course...and we pin pointed that 'my' problem with core is "I" gear more towards the carb aspect of it....so today, after our conversation yesterday, I am gearing more towards the protein (chicken, fish, GOOD red meat) aspect of it. Stearing clear of the starches, this is for me now, every one is different. My carb part will be my BELOVED veggies to included fiberous ones like, cauliflower, brocoli, and the like, and stand clear of the potatos and rice (for now)
(i.e) I will do egg whites (cauliflower and egg white omelet) for instance.
The oatmeal, popcorn, barley, cous cous, the cold cereals seem to weigh (way) me down. It's a personal thing now, don't for that. Everyone is different.
My 'treat's will be Jello gelatin (sf/ff) in the cup, and a more pick me up type of fruit then bananas. So it is always a work in progress isn't it.
So Vickie to answer your question, so far the first 7 days, I have remained the same. I will continue to carry on my 25 days of core journey.....hey may even go to the end of the month. I am very fortunate to get some one on one on a daily basis....I will put this new play into action.
Hope everyone here has a good day....those that aren't feeling well, feel better.
See you all later...........
