  • Choc. covered cherries and turtles-EVIL, hehe.
  • Hey Girls! I've been online all morning trying to track down all of Jim's Christmas presents. I don't think I'd ever deal with MLB.com again. Slow shipping and you can't get to a real operator to get live information. I didn't eat breakfast until 10:30. I just wasn't really hungry. I'll try to eat some FF cottage cheese and pineapple before I go for my hair appointment or I'll be starving. I have to go to the mall after my hair appointment to pick up a gift that Jim's been telling everyone is GREAT. Since it's something I hadn't ordered, I'll have to go get it.

I feel the same. Went for my urinalysis/culture last night and Urologist says no more antibiotics unless I have a bacteria. No help from him for at least 72 hours. No call from the Gynie. So I just keep pushing through my days.

Frouf, good luck with your appointment. I'm thinking your Doctor will be kind. Please do NOT give up. I'm not. Let's just hang in there together. Look at me. Lost 45 pounds fairly painlessly and then nothing for months. I've got 115 pounds to go and I'm not going to give in this time like I've done all the other times. All I do is gain it all back plus some. Just look at that 5 pounds at a time. Try the approach I do since I'm an emotional eater too. You'll feel good in the moment when you eat the .....whatever. But, as soon as you're done, you'll feel guilt, disgust, and remorse. Eating the comfort food doesn't make your problems go away, it just gives you one more....the weight. So stop being so hard on yourself. Don't worry about being hard Core for the moment. Why don't you just focus on no emotional and/or sugar eating. You know once you cleanse, you feel better. Look at Kim with her 12 days of clean eating. She's a confessed sweet eater. It really is better once you get off. Baby steps.

Sorry that I can't respond to anymore right now. I have to go get ready.

Everyone BACK AWAY FROM THE CHOCOLATE!

Kathy, remember how good 148 feels.

  • Good advice you gave to Frouf, Vickie. It reminded me of something I read, so I went to look it up. It is a WW article that deals with maintenance, but I also think it can be applied to weight loss.

Be realistic. Losing weight will improve your health and give you more energy, but it won't cure a bad marriage or make a hateful job bearable. If weight loss brings up issues that you aren't sure how to handle, talk them over with a trusted friend or seek the help of a mental health professional.

Exercise. Regular exercise is the key to maintaining weight loss. Record how often you walk, run, swim or cycle and refer back to it if the pounds start to creep back on. You'll probably find you're letting workouts slip.

Weigh yourself regularly. Hop on the scale daily, weekly or monthly — whatever you're most comfortable with. If you've gained a pound or two, look back. Have you been eating larger portions? Exercising less? Figure out where you've strayed, and get back on track — fast! "It's much easier to deal with two to five pounds than with twenty," Henson says.

Reward yourself. Treat yourself to a manicure, a vacation, an afternoon in the hammock or a day off from work to celebrate maintenance milestones.

Keep up the good work. Continue to read labels, measure portions and track what you eat. "This is a journey, not a destination," Reynolds says. "You have to keep working."
  • vickie, that's great advice you gave frouf.

    beware of chocolate!!!

kathy, those are wonderful tips. thanks for sharing.

i need to get off here and get some house blessing done. ya'll have a great day.
  • Great posts!
  • Vickie, I think that's wonderful advice. Focus on one thing, like eliminating emotional eating or cutting out sugar. I may take that advice for myself. Instead of trying to be completely core, just choose an aspect to work on. I think that's great advice, and I may do that too! (instead of beating myself up over points spent on healthy food)
  • Wow, where is everybody?
  • we just finished watching kingdom of heaven. it was pretty good. i snacked on a banana during it along with some homemade core granola. now i'm munching on 2 ww brownies (2 pts) life is good.
  • Sandra, I should have known you were snuggled up with your honey watching a movie. Good snacking for you!

I just saw on the WW board where someone made a smoothie with the following:
    skim milk
    sf/ff vanilla pudding mix
    ice
    drop of peppermint extract
and she said a piece of candy cane was optional
She said that it was like peppermint ice cream! Doesn't that sound good?
  • that does sound good. i think i'll make a fruit smoothie in a few minutes. i don't have any peppermint extract (yet!)
  • Hello Chicks! I just got home from having my hair done. 3 hours, $145 smackers. I got my roots done, upper highlights, and cut. I feel just a little perkier.

I took Jim out for dinner. OMG, I dropped $60 but we had an incredibly fabulous Core dinner. Filet mignon, ww pasta with marinara, fresh cauliflower and a beautiful mixed greens salad. I was STARVING since I went for my hair appointment at 1:20 with nothing but breakfast in my stomach. Very bad planning and very unlike me. This makes up for the last two separate dinners where we tried to make steak at home and it was horrible.

Believe it or not, I know I'm still going to be hungry in a little while so I'll have another milk/fruit serving. I'm thinking FF cottage cheese and pineapple.

So I see it was very quiet here today. Melissa, that smoothie sounds incredible. I'm thinking I might make it tonight. I'm also thinking that I'll use white chocolate pudding since that's what I use in the cherry garcia smoothie to make it taste like ice cream. Peppermint ice cream is the favorite ice cream of Vickie and Jim! Woo Hoo! You just might have made my pathetic little day.

Kathy, I LOVE what you posted. It so wonderful when we can help each other.

Frouf, GF, come out come out where ever you are! It's ok you know. Whatever you deceide, we're here to help!
  • vickie, your day sounds fabulous. i'm glad you got to get out and enjoy yourself. how are you feeling this evening? any better? i hope so.
  • Physically, I not any better but mentally I'm feeling pretty chipper.

I'm off to make that smoothie now! Jim confirms that we have peppermint extract. I'll report the review later.
  • i'll be watching for it.
  • Evening ladies! Thanks for the warning away from the chocolate. We were given some delicious homemade chocolate covered peanut things, and I was just thinking about eating another when I read that.

I'm hanging in here - went to my meeting this morning, and I'm up 1.8 or so... but I'm back on track, I promise.

And...the new name of the game with this potty training adventure, is dd now refuses to go poop. (Sorry for the graphic nature). She won't go in the potty, in her diaper, nowhere. Grrr. I need to nip this in the bud, or it could become a big problem. I'm really pushing the fluids and fiber with her, but it's hard because she's also at that really picky stage and doesn't eat much.

Anyway, I'm plugging along here. It's cold and snowy - par for the course here.

    Later!
