hmm...
  • I went to Taco Bell with a coworker at lunch, and all I got was a diet soda.
  • I bought 2 boxes of Kashi bars to keep in my desk so I could more easily avoid the donuts in the office kitchen.
  • I sent Jeff to work with a carton of Almond Breeze to have on his breakfast cereal instead of cow's milk.
  • I'll be doing some house cleaning tonight--vacuuming up the puppy fur should make the air inside cleaner, right?
  • We will buy some new toys for the puppies tonight after work (they've been eating my SHOES lately, which is not healthy for ANY of us ).
Wow, 5 things. It's harder than it sounds.

Well, these aren't necessarily today's only. I'm looking at the week....
1) Ran out of my last bit of Splenda yesterday and began using agave nectar in my coffee.
2) I've been getting out of bed a little earlier and cooking a healthy breakfast instead of letting the girls eat the nasty sugary fatty school breakfast (the devil must be getting a bit chilly in that frozen wasteland of his! )
3) Ran out of Barq's root beer yesterday and didn't buy anymore. My youngest DD is not gonna be happy with Mommy!
4) Hubby and I re-started our daily walking.
5) Made oldest DD ride her bike to her friends house yesterday. When she began to whine, I reminded her of her commitment to be more "green." Surprisingly, it worked!

Whew! Coming up with 5 things was tough. Looks like we have a lot of room for improvement around here. Anna, Thanks for getting me thinking in the right direction.

Laurie, Congratulations on your new grandbabies!
Trooworld - Glad you decided to post with us.
Diva - Girlfriend, I was in bed with a migraine all day on Sunday. Too many wine coolers at Ladie's night? Hmmmm....probably so. Hope whatever made you hit the hooch is looking a bit better today.

So, I'm feeling the peer pressure to get Bob's book. I had decided to not buy it because of my new budget...but, I'm kinda waffling. Have any of you gotten very far into it? At 43 years old and someone who has dieted for most of her life, I'm not really sure how much more new information is out there for me. I'm not saying that I know it all, but I do know a lot of it. My problem is not a knowledge issue....my problem is a commitment issue. I think I just need Jillian to come to my house and give me a good kick in the a$$ every once in a while!

Hi everyone,
Selina--You really have a way with words and I always look forward to your encouraging words.

Vanetta--I'm a true believer in doing what it is that you love for a living. I'd rather be poor enjoying what I do. My field is definitely not known for high salaries. I'm very fortunate that we are paid the highest in the area (MD, VA, DC).

Tina--I watch Work Out and love it.

Diva--ROTFL about drunk posting!

5 things
1. Eating the meal I brought to work rather than ordering out
2. Lead/did Water Exercise for 50 minutes this morning
3. On my 2nd bottle of water today
4. making myself take a lunch break although I am very busy
5. I plan to force myself to go the bed at midnight tonight

HA! That made me laugh! Look into my eyes... "Buy the book, youknow you WANT to".

BTW, yes after putting on my superhero suit and saving the day yesterday, today I am taking a mental and physical break and just chillin...

Rhonda--I forgot to mention that although I have not read the book yet I believe it includes knowledge but I think it is more about self awareness. And really digging deep to explore are you truly ready to do what is needed to lose weight. I think there are questions and exercises that you do.

This was my fear being that a lot of people want to discuss this book.

So while I've said it in pm's to a few people I'll restate it now for everyone.

Yes Bob is great and while I and others have made the personal decision to try his diet plan here are a few things to keep in mind:

1.) It is not required by the context of this TBL Challenge to follow Bob's, or any specific diet plan. You could be on any plan you want, we as team leaders can not force you to change your plan or deny you the right to compete because of your diet plan.

2.) We as team leaders can not force to to purchase materials concerning diets in order to participate in the TBL Challenge. We can not also deny you the right to compete because you lack materials pertaining to certain diets.

3.) We as team leaders can not discriminate or deny the right to competition based on your knowledge of diets, exercise or other weight loss practices.

Please also be aware that The Biggest Loser, Bob and Jillian's diet plans are a separate topic that is outside of the realm of this challenge. Any questions, concerns or advice concerning these diet and exercise plans should be directed to their proper threads, which are in this forum: The Biggest Loser - Winning By Losing

And like any diet and exercise information on the 3 Fat Chicks on a Diet Forums, all posts made by moderators, administration or members should not be seen as medical advice. You should contact your physician for advice prior to beginning or changing any diet or fitness regimen that you may or may not have.

I just don't want people to get to the team chats and feel left out or feel like they have to have Bob's book to fit in or participate in the challenges.

So that's my main reason for wanting to keep book discussion in it's proper place.

But to answer your question, from what I'm gathering in the intro and chapter one, Bob wants you to work on getting over your mental hurdles about your weight and other triggers that make you emotionally eat long before you even think about fixing your diet and exercise issue. But I've only read the intro and chapter one so yea...

I plan on talking more about it in the Bob's Babes thread as I go along... but for right now it looks like I'm talking to myself over there at the moment

I'm back from lunch and once again have been spoiled. Turns out my boss had our gift cards after all. So I'll be picking up Bob's book on the way home. I hade sun dried tomato crusted chicken, with fresh green beans, a spinach salad, and then (key lime pie). I never have dessert when we go to lunch, but I decided I really wanted it, so I had it. No regrets.

Here are my 5 things:

1. Buy Bob's book
2. Finish reading Body Clutter
3. Plan my menu for the rest of the week
4. Meditate or take a quick walk instead of tracking down one of our consultants and kicking him in the shin.
5. Do some yoga/stretches to work the kinks outta my back.

LOL...well actually Red team will still have discussion in our team thread, I've got some plans to incorporate the latest biggest loser success secrets with it as well. Noone will need to have either book to participate, but ya can. Red team is more than welcome to discuss the actual book there instead (or both places) whichever applies to you. I'm gonna be blogging my stuff and then talking with my team.
