Wow, you did great for cheats! Healthier cheats
My weekend was half on plan, half off plan LOL! It doesn't bother me too much though. To me, I still did better than if I wasn't dieting so it's still an improvement in my book. I knew my diet wasn't going to be perfect so I'm not putting myself down for it.

Cycle 1 Day 8
Starting Weight: 191.0
Current Weight: 186.8lbs (down 4.2lb!!)

So I lost .2 lbs each day Saturday, Sunday & Monday morning. Not much but as long as it goes down and not up, I'm happy I haven't done ANY exercise during the weekend either so, it's still good to me. Plus, I cheated a lot so, I should be grateful!
I went to stock up in veggies/fruits yesterday. I will be doing another cabbage lasagna but will be using a different sauce and better tasting ground turkey. Tonight we're having taco salad, Mmmmm!

Yes!! I lost 50 pounds pretty quickly on the 17 Day Diet a couple of years ago. Then, well - you know what happened.

I just restarted and I lost 5 pounds the first week. It is the easiest diet to follow, in my opinion, and I have tried them all.

It's basically low carb, but not as restrictive as Atkins. You change up the foods a little bit every 17 days.

I have it on kindle, but I like my bright pink hardcover copy better, for flipping through the pages. I got it at Walmart.

Glad to see this group. I'll check back often!

Hi Terese! Glad you could join us I agree 100% with you with saying it's the easiest. It's also healthy so it's ALL good. Hehe! 50 lbs weight loss is impressive!

Cycle 1 Day 9
Starting Weight: 191.0
Current Weight: 187.6 lbs (down 3.4 lbs!!)

So the bad happened, I went up this morning. I find that pretty funny because I thought I did really good yesterday (minus the bun I had with my soup for lunch hehe!) I don't mind though. Yesterday was a good day and I didn't feel hungry like I normally would be. I feel like the diet is turning into my lifestyle more and more. I took out some cod tonight. I don't LOVE fish but I love fried fish. I tried cooking salmon a couple times and just couldn't eat it. I'm trying cod today, I'm going to cover it in bread crumbs and eat it with veggies. Sounds yummy to me! What veggies is good with fish? Salad perhaps?

Hey Rainpa & Therese, how's it going with you? C:

Cycle 1 Day 10
Starting Weight: 191.0
Current Weight: 186.6 lbs (down 4.4 lbs!!)

Woo! Went back to 186s. Can't wait to go below that. Last night, I was SO mad but SO proud of myself. We had cod & veggies for supper last night and I had a yogurt for dessert. I was sitting on the couch and boyfriend looks at me and says, you know what would be good, ice cream! I swear to god, I could've killed him right there! He bugged me for AT LEAST 10 minutes to go. He was even pulling on my arm for me to go with him. I told him I was trying to lose weight and I didn't want any anyways! Finally, after he noticed I wasn't getting up, he stopped bugging me. He could've gone without me but he didn't want to go alone so he ended up not getting any either. Looks like I'll have to say no for both of us. It'll only do him some good. I told him we could go this weekend for a treat but NOT during the week. It's funny but it really wasn't hard to say no. I was so happy with myself! Sugar cravings are pretty much gone. I'm eating the food on the diet without forcing myself. It just comes naturally now. I love it! Cycle two is just around the corner. I can't wait to start adding oatmeal & brown rice to my diet.

Hope you're all having a good day!

That's awesome Foreverfaye! Like the book says, you lose a lot of weight during the first 17 days and it makes you more motivated to continue. Keep it up!

Cycle 1 Day 11
Starting Weight: 191.0
Current Weight: 185.8 lbs (down 5.2 lbs!!)

So I'm down in the 185s this morning. Yay! It's going down! I've officially lost 5 lbs. I'm really happy with that. There's two things I need to improve though. I'm not drinking NEARLY as much water as I should and I'm not exercising. Big points that I should be doing that will help me lose faster. Starting today, I'm going to force down 2 litres of water. Also, It's announcing a nice day out, I'm going to go walking with the dog.

Hope you're all having a great day!

Hi, sorry I haven't checked in for a few days. Things have been kind of crazy in my house. I've been doing okay. I did t get to the grocery store this past weekend so I've been doing the best I can with what I have. I've been eating lots of chicken and tuna as well as leftover veggies from the party on Sunday. I haven't weighed myself again yet so I don't know if I've lost anything. It has been harder the last two days. My daughter has been sick so I've been at home with her. It would be so easy to reach into the kids candy jar or to have some of my hubby's chips, but so far I haven't and I do t plan to. Good for you to telling your boyfriend no about going to get ice cream!! I don't know that I would've been able to say no congrats on your weight loss so far! I hope I've lost something, maybe I'll try tomorrow...

Hi RainPa! Glad to hear you haven't given up. I hope you're daughter is feeling better.

Cycle 1 Day 12
Starting Weight: 191.0
Current Weight: 185.4 lbs (down 5.6 lbs!!)

Down .4 this morning. I ALMOST didn't have something that was on plan this morning. I wanted to eat toasts with peanut butter & banana. But I ate my greek yogurt & strawberries instead. I kept reminding myself that I'm almost at cycle 2. Then I'll be able to eat my oatmeal with apple/cinnamon/sweetner with vanilla yogurt. Mmmmm! Last night though, I didn't feel like cooking so I had my "weekend" ice cream last night for my supper LOL! What surprised me is I couldn't even finish it!! I ALWAYS finish my ice cream. Boyfriend ended up eating the rest of it since I was full! I know it wasn't on plan but I don't care. It was my decision and I take full responsibility of that one. I still went down this morning so YAY!
Only drank 6 glasses of water yesterday as opposed to 8. Really had to force it down. No exercise yet but planning on starting Turbo Jam next Monday. That should increase my weight loss! Weekend is almost here, and I have a feeling it's going to be a rough one for me! Doing a cabbage lasagna this weekend. Let's hope it helps me stay on plan.
Have a great weekend!

Hi all! So I'm thinking I should start over with the plan . I totally blew it over the last 4 days or so. I didn't have the necessary foods that I needed and my daughter has been sick so I was at home with her last Wed, Thurs, and Fri. When I'm home, I tend to not eat very well. However, I did weigh myself this morning and lost 1 pound! I hope you're all doing well with the plan!

Don't feel bad, I went off plan since last Friday and have been eating back to my old ways since. I'm actually not going to continue this plan for now. I'm reading a nutrition book right now and I'm hoping to start following it. It's called Eat Yourself Slim by Michel Montignac. I only read excellent reviews on it. I started reading it last night and only read a few pages and it makes sense so far. Good luck on 17DD RainPa! I'll continue reading your progress

Is anyone still following this diet? I've just found my ebook (I have the actual book at home too). This is the ONLY diet that I lost the weight (went down to 160) but gained it back when I went off it for the holidays. I should've just kept going but I didn't. I'm REALLY thinking of starting it up again. I need some 17DD buddies though. Anyone out there??

Well, I don't know if anyone is still around, but I just started C1D1 today. Here's my menu:

B: Yoplait light yogurt
Pear
Coffee

L: Salad with spinach, tomatoes, grilled chicken, olive oil, and FF dressing
Peach

S: Cottage cheese with cherry tomatoes (I dumped in some probiotics b/c I couldn't find the LiveActive stuff)

D: Baked tilapia and roasted asparagus.

I missed a snack today. I definitely need to try some eggs at breakfast tomorrow, as I was STARVING by lunch-time. I drank the lemon water in the AM but did not drink any green tea because I don't like it. Thinking about buying some green tea pills instead but just haven't gotten around to it.

Re: yogurt, the instructions in the book are confusing. I bought a few things of greek yogurt, but now that I look at them, none of them have less than 10 grams of sugar. I really don't want to waste them, though.

Today is day 3 but only the beginning. I'm going to post day 2's menu:

B: Chobani pineapple yogurt (I don't think this is OK b/c of too much sugar, but I'm not going to waste it) and coffee

S: apple

L: salad with spinach, tomatoes, 1 oz FF feta cheese, grilled chicken, 1 TBS olive oil, and FF dressing
grapes

S: cottage cheese (probiotics added) with cherry tomatoes

D: grilled salmon and roasted brussels sprouts (with olive oil).

I did the lemon water in the morning (which I find gross) but not the green tea yet...still working up the nerve. Probably had about 50 oz of water yesterday.
