Jacqui, sorry about the house and your hands And you'll figure it all out with eating and life, you always do Jacqui, we rent and always have. I tell the kids treat this house like it is yours. When someone knocks on the door or your friend wants to drop in you shouldn't have to say no because it looks like someone went crazy in there. Now keeping it straight is another issue altogether Jacqui I sure hope so also ---> I can't help but think things will get better weight-wise when it warms up. I may be wrong but spring is such a time of renewal and that's what I'm hoping! ... Jacqui is BACK . I so wish I could join you on the week 1 day 1 journey but I don't want to disappoint myself. I need to get to where you are in your head space with a way to renew my efforts. I took the goal part off of my ticker also. Not gonna change it to today's weigh in because my whooshes rarely last.

Carol Sue, good to hear about Nancy and the new rehab center. Praying all goes well Carol Sue your salmon dinner sounds good. Isn't it funny how you end up sharing what you use to only like, now you need to purchase more. But it's a good thing for him to now like Carol Sue, glad your knee is getting better. I guess I didn't go back far enough. What's going on with you knee? Ok just read the update on your knee. Take care of yourself. Good to hear about Nancy and so sorry to hear about Earl. I'm praying for all with any illness. I have been hit with the news of relatives and friends with cancer. Some the cancer is gone, some it's spreading. God is a miracle worker, He will prevail. We have to have faith that He is, He can and He will. Good job at the casino buffet, gotta love our weather right

SeeMyFeet, sorry about the work issues That is clearly why I keep to myself and I mean keep to myself at work. I have a few that I chat with from time but 9 times out of 10 spiritually related. However, I often feel like I am not taking care of myself or giving my family my all as I should. We'll get through this

PrairieQueen, good to hear you are safely back at home. I looked up your Red's burritos. I'm gonna try to find the bean and cheddar one. It says Food Lion and Kroger. So of course I will have to go to each one to see if they have that particular one. It has a good amount of protein and fiber . Then two if I try I may be able to make my own with low carb tortilla, fresh pintos, cheddar and salsa. I wonder what that would taste like. Thanks for posting PQ hoping your whoosh is on the way We had 60 degree temps on Sunday also, what a blessing after the teens and twenties Sorry abut your phone internet, that always happens to me at work Hope it comes up soon.

ZCA72 and to the thread Would you mind posting your menu? I'm always interested in seeing how one can only eat 5-6 carbs a day. Thanks ... and I like how you came up with your user name. clever Is the menu you posted all day or just breakfast and lunch. How many ounces of each? Thanks ... I do skip the veg/salad he suggests tho.<--- Do you not eat any veggies, unless you go out for a meal? Doesn't that do something to your body? (so I've read on 3FC about too much protein) I'm full of questions as you can tell, always wanting to learn something new for Jacqui to snack my hand about (my Mama Hen)

well if you go to my weigh in thread you'll see that I have been all over the place this month. I'll do well a few days and then sabotage the whole thing. I had a nice whoosh so weight right now is 169.4. I want to see 165 by months end but I think I have pretty much wrecked that so if I get to 167-168 and stay awhile I'll be happy.

Mars where are you?

Hi Love2b
thanks for the welcome

my username is ZC (zero carb) and Atkins 1972 original version (A72) combined. This is the way I will eat for life
I figured it is SO me so I thought it would make a good username LOL

I eat zero carb daily BUT I started on Atkins 1972 induction food list. Dr A allowed small limited salad and very limited veggie in this induction food list. I noticed I just do not want the veggies/salad at all so I basically eat 0 carb from that list.

I eat ZC but IF BY ANY means I must default when out or whatever situation I can't get my ZC foods, I will just get a salad. No veggies. only leafy greens, cukes. I don't eat green beans, carrots or anything like that ever.

People can easily survive on no veggies ever. they are not needed to live. thing is the best I can say is if you research ZC eating you can see that vitamins and minerals all can be supplied by meats. I did research and believe that ZC eating is truly healthy. This is a personal call tho by each individual. many believe fiber is a must, I happen to not think that at all. But it comes down to researching it all to your own satisfaction. Been eating ZC for about 10 months now and I feel the absolute best I ever have!!! BUT for my own preference I do take one multi vitamin per day

I think it just comes down to what suits you individually. I am a meat hound and can easily fall into ZC eating. Others just are more comfortable eating some lc veggies and some lc fruits. I just don't require this. being so carb sensitive, the more carbs I eat the more I crave and go right off plan. my only control is to eliminate the carbs period and it just works best for me.

menu today has been:

10 oz ribeye steak with butter

1/2 lb. bacon as snack

dinner either crab legs and butter OR country style pork spare ribs.

that is my day today on eating.

hope I gave you some info on ZC and what it is like for me

love2b

how low in carbs do you eat?

I sure tried to 'climb that carb ladder' a little bit but when I did try I went carb insane.

I found out I am an abstainer---not a moderater. I never could moderate foods, yea, part of my food issues

LOL Carol Sue, that's funny

ZCA72, I'm not low carbing right now at all. If it happens to go that way I've had a good day but here lately I've had more off plan than on plan days. I'm here because I don't stray far from Jacqui and Carol Sue. I check in every now and then but not a true part of the thread topic at all (as of lately) but a part of our cyber family if that makes sense. Just doing the best that my mind will allow

Carol Sue & Rennie rashers are Irish-style bacon (back bacon) that's is a lot leaner than American, because it's cured pork loin with a small amount of a tail end that's like our bacon. It's soooo good. My hubs is English and we buy it anytime we find it. I've saved the package with the description/photo to see if our hog butcher will make some up for us. He's Mennonite and just took over our old butchers business....very nice and open to new ideas. His wife and kids are sweeties as well.

Break - sausage McMuffin
Lunch - 1/2 serving lasagne
Snack - almond/blueberry mix
Dinner - chicken tenders, hand cut fries from pub

I was soooo hungry most of the day today. Dont know why, but gave in with my dinner. I thought I was going to be sensible and have a wrap or grilled meat salad but....... I'm already puffy.

Bro had appt. w/cardiologist today and was given a clean bill of health . Next stop, teeth "fitting." He wants to get them and be used to them by Easter when I visit. The plan is to drive to Key West from moms house when I arrive... Spend a few days there slumming it at the beach and bars

Rennie, I am so happy to see you posting with us again! The old Jacqui is almost back, lol! I still have some work to do. I was battling my hunger again today and ate more than I intended. Each day I'm going to try to get it more and more under control. I really do believe in the Leptin Theory and I think my body is battling against me right now, so I really have to be strong, and lately I've been too lackadaisical, so I definitely have some work to do!

PrairieQueen, I'm so glad your brother is doing so well! Yum on the lean bacon!

ZCA72, I am not necessarily trying to eat low carb, but rather slow carb, smart carb, or low glycemic index. You'll see especially on Saturdays I go all out on carbs, lol! But other than on that one "Carb Day" a week, I try to stick to non-starchy, non-sugary carbs only. I definitely think you, and all of us, should do what fits us best as long as it doesn't cause us any problems, and apparently your zero carb diet is working for you! Your weight loss is fantastic and you seem motivated and energetic and that's wonderful!

Carol Sue, how's your knee today?

J, Congrats, a lb. down is sweet! I hear you on your plan. it suits you and works and you are a lucky gal you can handle as many carbs as you can I tried tons of variations and 'lc tricks and tips' and I just never felt in the groove with anything. only when I kept going into induction foods did I do my best. dawned on me climbing the carb ladder was out and VLC was where I needed to be.

40 min. high intensity exercise tape done.

out to breakfast and errands--plans changed. ribeye later but probably not for lunch now, hubby wants to eat out. bacon/cheese omelet for me.

ribeye or chicken thighs for dinner

when home later will do 1/2 hr high incline on treadmill.

just have to get this and that done today. rainy icky outside so indoor projects/chores to handle.

got on the scale and 2 lbs down. WHOOP! haven't had a big whooshy in a while. the exercise and cutting back on some of my added fat is working for me. I have a tendency to eat VERY big meals. so now I am 'watching me' a bit and apparently I am doing something right

ZCA72, woohoo on the 2-lb whoosh! Good job making adjustments that made that possible!

So I'm thinking I need to consider in what range I want to maintain my weight. I'd like to keep it in a 5-lb range, so do I want to choose 164-169 as my range or should I shoot for 159 and make it 159-164 to keep it in the "normal" BMI range? I know I should probably shoot for the lower numbers, but I really am not unhappy in the higher numbers. I feel comfortable in my skin in the upper 160s. I'm afraid I will feel too wrinkly and saggy in the lower range. That's kind of how I felt when I hit 164 and it freaked me out a little bit, lol! You would think just a few lbs wouldn't make a difference and maybe it doesn't, maybe it's just my imagination, but all I could see at 164 were the new wrinkles on my forehead that I've never had before! Of course, I am getting older. It could just be I'm going to get those wrinkles whether I weigh 164 and less or not. Anyway, I have until I get back down to 164 to think about it!

Jacqui, I think it's best to go as low as you can and decided on the best weight when you get to it. Anywhere you decide to stop, you will go up a few pounds at that point. You never know how you will look/feel at a certain weight until you get to it. As we age, our skin is not as resilient. It's going to wrinkle, sag, whatever. Sometimes when you lose weight it will really show in your face, but gradually, your body adjusts the fat composition and the saggy face goes away. Or maybe we just get accustomed to seeing it. But you have the satisfaction of knowing you are healthier!

I have heard that you should always have a goal, and that might be why I never lose. I don't have a goal, or, my goal is to weigh less tomorrow than I do today.
