I'm sorry I've been missing days. I am staying so busy since DH and I got back into the antique business! My weight loss is paying for it too! I'm just not eating as well as I should. I absolutely refuse to eat a bite of foods not allowed except on Saturdays, but my meals are not balanced and definitely not green enough. I feel like I'm always eating on the run or eating out or eating in a hurry! And well, always eating! I feel so hungry. I'm sure that's the leptin effect and I keep telling myself to fight it, but until I get some kind of balance back, I just keep grabbing convenience foods that are probably triggering my hunger even more! I'm hoping I can get a routine established and things will get better. Having to go to the house on the river on weekends is not helping! I haven't figured it out yet but I will (I hope)!

Carol Sue, yay on DH eating salmon! That's so healthy for him and your meal overall was very healthy! I agree with you on the issue of people trashing where they live. I don't get it either and it's definitely not normal wear and tear! We DO need Mars and Chickadeee back! I hope they are both doing well.

PrairieQueen, welcome back! You left at just the right time as I'm sure your DH let you know, lol! It has been so cold! I'm glad you are bringing warmer weather back with you though, lol!

SeeMyFeet, I'm sorry you are having a rough time at work. But yes, hang in there. You do need to take care of yourself. We all do! I can't help but think things will get better weight-wise when it warms up. I may be wrong but spring is such a time of renewal and that's what I'm hoping!

So I haven't been on the scale all week. Oh, I am dreading it! If I don't step on tomorrow, I will on Friday!

Hi Rennie, UpandAway, Trish! Where are you, chickies?

Evening all! Not much to talk about except that my weight has been stuck for two weeks even thought I've been OP and low cal. The first week was Aunt Flo. Just when I got it back down I flew to FL and it was up a pound again even though I was so good. Oh well, maybe a whoosh is on its way.

Today's chow....

Breakfast - fried egg, half hash brown
Lunch - Red's steak/cheese burrito
Dinner - spicy orange beef w/brown rice & broccoli
Snack - cran water

Hi everyone! Where did everybody go?

Friday's menu...

Breakfast - McD's sausage burrito
Lunch - 1/2 portion of spicy orange beef w/brown rice & broc
Snack - a few almonds and dried blueberries
Dinner - 2 slices homemade pizza, two light beers

My water weight + some is gone, but still only two pounds down this month. I am adjusting my calorie intake to my new weight, but the 140s are tough to say goodbye to. Come on spring and gardening season!

It was 61 degrees in my part of ohio yesterday. It's supposed to be 64 today. I may go to an auction 20 miles from here....still debating.

Have a good weekend!

PrairieQueen, I'm sure you do have a whoosh in store! Things just have to get back to normal for you! I love that it's supposed to be so pretty today! Hubs talked about going to an auction over by Dayton, or below Dayton (somewhere around there), but it's quite a distance from us and our daughter will coming home, so I doubt we'll go. It looks like an amazing auction though!

Carol Sue, is your knee acting up again? I hope it continues to get better!

So I'm still in the 160s right now! The key words are "right now," lol! I'm at 169. Today is Carb Day so I'll be going up at least temporarily. I hope it's temporary!

Knee has been ok the past couple days. I've been doing some leg lifts, babying it, and wore my knee brace when shopping yesterday. A little swollen today. I don't know if I'm retaining water all over.

Nancy is doing well in the rehab facility from what I hear, but her brother Earl, who has cancer got bad news this week. Cancer is progressing in spite of treatment. He was told at diagnosis that it was terminal, but we are still praying. Miracles do happen! These 2 people are my closest relatives. Both of their parents were blood relatives of mine, but not blood relatives to each other. They were my father's daughter and my mother's nephew.

We are going to the casino today, and I don't want to even talk about the scale. LOL

Carol Sue have fun at the casino! I've only been once to play. Watch that knee.
Jacqui my auction was in Jeffersonville, and it was a bust. I did stop at the outlets on the way home though There's one tomorrow in Greene County that looks more promising. Hope your house is coming along. My parents owned seven rental homes at one point in my childhood. they sold last one in late 80s because things were getting too messy for them.

Food today...

Breakfast - slice of pizza, 1/2 bacon sandwich
Lunch - spicy orange beef w/broc and brown rice
Snack - pineapple
Dinner - chicken fajita w/sour cream and guacamole

No luck at the casino. I had 2 good visits last month and I know you can't win all the time!! My knee held up OK, but I didn't do as much walking around as I usually do. I didn't wear my knee brace. I ate well at the buffet, as usual. I don't hold back on portions there, but I do stay away from carbs. I had a stuffed shell but only because it was stuffed with crab meat and I mostly just ate the stuffing. Our temp went up to 71 yesterday and it was bright and sunny. Today it's overcast. Cold weather is coming back and maybe snow.

HI ALL
I am new to the site. I saw 'carb sensitive' thread and knew this is where I belong

I tried Atkins 20 net and did a little ok, then failure, then every time I went into induction again to gain control I did so well.

So now I eat Atkins 1972 Induction food list and I am basically zero carb eater. I do however reserve the right to go up to about 5-6 total carbs per day if needed....like being forced to eat out somewhere and have a salad to get by

eliminating carbs was my way to survive and feel my absolute best. I feel wonderful eating a ZC menu, I am a meat hound to the max!

I just want to say hi and would love to chat with fellow carb sensitive posters.

55 minute hardcore calorie burn exercise tape (oh yes I feel this one!)

1/2 hr. with high incline and fast pace on my treadmill

1/2 hr. with high resistance trainer program on my recumbent bike

food today is ribeye with little garlic butter
plain country style pork spare ribs

A ton of rain outside and pouring buckets. No outside fun today. inside exercise and 100% on plan eating zero carb is what works for this old girl

I hope everyone has a great day on plan and is feeling strong in their LC ways!!

ZCA72! Happy to have you! I'm glad you have found a way of eating that works for you! Wow, is that your normal exercise routine? If so, good for you! If not, be careful not to burn too fast and bright from both ends. We don't want you burning out! You look like you are determined and on a roll though, so great job!

Carol Sue, oh I am so sorry about your nephew. I have him in my prayers. Miracles do happen and I hope he knows that, because I think believing you can get well somehow is the basis for such miracles. The mind can do amazing things and with the Good Lord's help, I hope he will start to improve! I'm glad to hear your niece is getting along well! No, you can't win at the casino every time, lol! I hate to hear that your knee is still acting up!

PrairieQueen, that's too bad your auction didn't pan out. It happens! We didn't end up going to our auction, not with our daughter coming home! Our house on the river is getting better little by little. There is still so much to do though!

Okay, my little experiment of trying to back off for a bit from watching my weight so carefully is backfiring, so I am going back to what is tried and true for me--weighing every day, posting my menus every day, and exercising. It's not so much my weight that is driving me. I'm up to 172.5 this morning, but that doesn't worry me. It's still a comfortable weight on me. What is driving me is how bad I feel today. My RA has decided to kick in, and I just know my slack-off diet is contributing to it. I'm overeating, to the point of bingeing at times, and yesterday I picked up this nut, seed, fruit mixture at the store, and I ate the whole bag, and although I didn't look at the label I suspect it contained sugar, although it could have been sweetener because it seemed really sweet; I ate chicken tenders, which I allow occasionally but the breading I'm sure didn't help; and I drank all Diet Dr. Pepper and only one bottle of water all day. Today I really hurt. So, enough! Back to tried and true, starting with eating well and MODERATELY, drinking water and only one Diet Dr. Pepper if any, and once my RA calms back down (and I don't think that will be today. I'm even having a tough time typing), back to the gym! I can't wait for Spring and consistently warm weather to renew my efforts. I have to get back on top of this now. So today is Day 1 of Week 1 of my renewed effort, and I'm not even going to hide behind my ticker glory, lol! I'm going to move my ticker back up to make it real and to make myself push to get back to goal!

Edited to Add: I'm keeping my 1st ticker the same. It's motivating. It's the 2nd ticker I'm changing. I'm scrapping the bonus goal (at least for now). I can see it's going to be a challenge for me simply to maintain my 164 goal! I've heard maintaining is really bouncing up a few lbs and having the discipline to get those few lbs back down. That's what I need to concentrate on!

Week 41:
2/23--172.5
2/24--
2/25--
2/26--
2/27--

Today's Meals:
Breakfast:

2 fried eggs
2 slices of bacon
Mio water

Lunch:
Yogurt
Protein Bar
Mio water

Tea Time:

Dinner:
Fried Chicken from Kroger (still too much!)
Yogurt
Diet Dr. Pepper

Today's Exercise:

Hi Jacqui
thanks for the welcome. yea that is my new normal during cold months. I am an outdoor gal, swim, bike, mountain trail hikes. but when chilly weather hits I stay inside...so at some point I must move. eating this way gives me SO much energy that I must do something, move the old body no burning out thank goodness.

You are having a tough time, sorry for your RA troubles. Key is if eating clean and plain suits you best and you feel alot better physically, do not walk away from it! How bad you feel has got to be that 'deciding factor' on what you eat.

I see you have stats close to mine. Did you lose it eating zero carb or very low carb? I lost about 25 and then yo yo yo yo like crazy on Atkins net 20. only when I went into Atkins 1972 original version induction food list did I start to lose rapidly. biological 0 carb. I do skip the veg/salad he suggests tho. Now all I want is goal
