I'm off to the chiropractor, but will be back later for chit chat.

Chickadeee, I thought of you when I saw this at Goodwill.

Hi All!

Oh my. did I blow out Carb Day! I don't know if stress took over or what, but I am going to weigh SO much tomorrow, lol! Before I began eating, I started out today well. I had lost half a lb to get down to 183.5 this morning. Now I feel downright icky by how much I ate today! And I topped if off with Italian sausage pizza, and I don't even like Italian sausage because it and I don't get along, so I'll be extra bloated tomorrow.

Jacqui I hope the scale is kind to you this morn. I was doing okay yesterday (Saturday is usually the day I blow it), but then we went out with our "young" friends (he's 9 years younger and she's 19 years younger) I blew it. I was going to be DD but hubs had had enough after two and we were there for 5 hours! They had a bluesy band that another young friend of ours is in and it was his birthday. Oh, my. I'm too old for this stuff.

Yesterday:
Breakfast - 1 piece homemade pizza
Snack- 2 cups skinny popcorn
Lunch - 1 piece homemade pizza
Dinner - 2 chicken fajitas with guacamole
Evening "snacks" - Michelob Ultra x 5 but no pub grub

Up 0.2 lb today and no headache, so I'm happy.

No exercise but I did get the hula out and put it together. I roasted some banana squash, pureed, and froze for later pies and soup.

I didn't make it back here yesterday because the chiropractor really worked me over. I was in so much pain after being twisted and turned. LOL I put ice on my back, took 2 Mortin, then went in to lie down for a while. This morning I am back to where I have been, where it feels good during the day but hurts during sleep. I go back to him tomorrow and will go through all this again. Then I will take a break and give it a week or so and see if it improves over time.

Jacqui, I doubt if you did much damage on Carb Day, since you always bounce right back. At least you get to enjoy some of your favorite foods, and some not so favorite, like the sausage pizza. I love sausage pizza but it does a job on my blood sugar. I have to worry about that as well as my weight.

Thank you ALL for your encouragement and support! I don't think I will ever be able to figure my body out. I had no doubt in my mind that I would weigh 187 this morning. I was convinced. Instead, thankfully, I weigh 184!

Carol Sue, oh my, I am so sorry that you are having trouble with your back and I hope the chiropractor works his magic very well and you feel so much better soon! Thanks, and yes, I am happy to have been able to eat some of my favorite foods yesterday. I am just concerned that I am splurging a little more and easing up on exercise too much as I approach that dreaded 6-month mark (my weak spot) in November. I don't want to fall into that same old trap!

Mars, lol, thanks, you and I tend to think alike on Carb Day! Yum on the Sicilian chicken!

PrairieQueen, thanks! And hey, being up only .2 and having no headache after an "out with friends" Carb Day I think is a win-win! I'm looking forward to hearing how that hula-hoop works for you!

Chickadeee, thanks, I lucked out once again, lol! I just hope it keeps up!

Hi Bewildered, Mary, Rennie, and KatieCatherine! I hope y'all are having a great weekend!

Hope you're soon perked up Bewildered ! At least whiskey is low carb, yes?

Jacqui Your body knows the way home! I agree about how those little indulgences are something to watch out for. My body is very forgiving about transgressions, up to a point. And then it's a runaway train & harder to get back on track and see losses. But sometimes that's what happens. It's still never too late to rein it in and feel great even before the scale smiles upon us once again. That's my story & I'm sticking to it,!

Good morning all
Hang in there Rennie! Isn't it maddening how hard it is, even when we 'know' what to do?
I'm still not ready to face the scale, but had another ok day with eating.

B omelet w mushroom/tomato, Fuji apple, whey shake/coffee
L protein bar buffet (Trying them out in advance of a trip that will not have a lot of food choice--ended up with indigestion the rest of the day)
D salad chicken, garbanzos, evoo
S roasted butternut, cauli, red onion, CO yummmm!

2L cinnamon vanilla spice herbal tea

Rennie & BewilderedWhat goes up must come down, & it will! We gotta just keep plugging away. I keep telling myself that, anyway. Any day now!

Re the protein bars, Rennie, I tried the new formulation of Quest double choc chunk, Victory peanut, Oh Yeah pnut choc. Blechh to the Quest & Victory; Oh Yeah like a Babe Ruth & I ate 2 whole ones, yes 2!, hence the stomach ache. Shame about the change n Quest, as that was a good product. Still to be tried are ANSI, Simply Whey, B-up
I much prefer my whey shakes but I can't haul 15 of them them to Cuba. The bars are too much like candy, but I'd like to have a fall back high protein thing, and they are easy to pack. Otherwise I am at the mercy of whatever the hotels are dishing up, and I doubt it will be low/slow carb.
