Jacqui So happy to hear that Ichabod is walking!!!! And wowowow, you are on the cusp of a new decade, having spent very little time in the current one! WTG!!!!!
The scale was as kind to me as it could be, considering my last couple of weeks. 173! I'm relieved that I was finally ready to step on the scale. All of my self-talk was not motivating me to stick to the program. Now i have a reason not to have all the little cheats and big cheats, and that's a relief.
Today has been ok so far with a few more hrs to go. I went to a Native American basketry class with a master weaver. It felt great to sit in the September sunshine.
B mushroom omelet, whey shake, coffee
L salad w vegs, beans, chicken, evoo apple
S whey shake coffee
D turkey chili, butternut squash & cauliflower. Whoops, forgot to put the beans into the chili. Oh well!
2L vanilla spice herbal tea

PrairieQueen, lol, well, can't blame you. Ribeyes are awfully good! Great job on no snacks! I ate lunch late and had snacks (so many pumpkin delights today), so I wasn't hungry for dinner. Instead, I made it out to the walk park and did a couple of miles.
Mars, thanks! I am surprised by how quickly I went from the high 180's to the low 180's, but I can't count my new decade chickens before they're hatched, lol! Today was Carb Day so I'm not going to be hitting the 170's just yet! I'm so glad the scale was kind to you! : I know some people don't like to get on the scale everyday and I totally understand, and I've even been tempted to skip it after a heavy Carb Day, but I've found it's the best thing to keep me on top of my diet. It's so easy to slide otherwise. I'm glad it's remotivated you to clamp down on the cheats! Wow, a Native American basketry class with a master weaver, that sounds SO cool!
And yes, PrairieQueen and Mars, it's exciting! Ichabod walked quite a bit this morning and then slept most of the rest the day, which is good. He doesn't need to overdo it. Plus, he's definitely nocturnal, like most cats, so he needs to sleep a lot during the day. I have to admit I was worried how he'd be this evening, but he got up and started walking again!

Jacqui, so happy to hear that Ichabod is walking! Yay Ichabod!!
Today at Walmart I bought a package of snowballs....you know, the little chocolate cakes with the colored coconut on top. One of them will satisfy my craving for the chocolate cupcakes, and DH likes them so he will eat the rest.
Wow. it is like you guys are off the races with these numbers and attitudes. I am holding mine till after Tuesday of this week, then I will see what direction I take to shake things up a bit.
Carol Sue, Snowballs, no thank you. I remember the white covering was like foam or something. Now show me a Raspberry Zinger and I could spend the day just smelling it and be happy.
Had a great weekend, finished up a sewing project for a friend, for her 1st granddaughter. Just did stuff around the house, didn't go anywhere other than the grocery store, but at least the weekend didn't zoom by so fast.
Today:
B: Hamburger Steak, eggs, coffee
S: 1/2 doughnut, coffee
L: Protein drink
S: skipped
D: Oven roasted chicken with fresh rosemary, garden gr beans, water
Took the dogs for three short walks, nice Fall-ish weather. Hi to everyone, hope the coming week is better than ever for everyone.
B mushroom/broccoli omelet, whey shake/coffee
L salad, beans,chicken, evoo, pear
S roasted cabbage steaks/evoo, small apple

Thank you, Carol Sue! Another good day for Ichabod today! Oooo, those snowballs sound good! You'll have to let us know, compared to some of the other foods you've tried again recently, if they tasted as good as you remember.
Chickadeee, do let us know how the doctor's appt goes! I hope it is all great news! Yay on the walk with the pups! Who do you have there in the attached pic? Cute pillow! Beautiful baby!
PrairieQueen, good-looking menu, especially the spaghetti, yum!
Mars, yay on moving in the right direction! You'll be all the way back down before you know it!
Hi Rennie, Bewildered, Mary!
Today was challenging! I went to my DIL's baby shower (she's having twin boys! ) Chicken salad croissants, chocolate dipped strawberries, cheese ball and crackers, chocolate and vanilla cupcakes, lemonade, sweet tea, oh my! I took a croissant and ate the chicken salad out of it with a fork, and had veggies and ranch dip, with water to drink. If I had thought about it, I would have waited for today as Carb Day, but oh well! Speaking of Carb Day, I didn't do too much damage, thank goodness! I was up only half a lb. There's still hope for me yet to hit the 170's this month!

Jacqui That's great about Ichabod!!!! And also about how you handled DIL's baby shower. Do you feel ok about about not indulging, any residual wish-you-had-eaten things in the back of your mind? Well, if there are, Carb Day is coming!
Mars, thanks! No, I never regret not eating something, because like you said, I can always have it on Carb Day. However, I would have regretted eating something that I knew I shouldn't have, and I hate that guilt and blame. I beat myself up for years over food. I don't want to do it anymore, and I never feel guilty about Carb Day, no matter how crazy it gets, lol!

Eh, the Snowballs were OK. Chickadeee, that topping was supposed to be marshmallow, covered with colored coconut.
I forgot all about Raspberry Zingers from back in the 80s. They had them in the snack machine at work but they didn't put very many in there. This one guy at work and I used to rush to see who could get to the machine first to get them. Do they even make them anymore? I've been off sweets for so long I don't pay attention. Maybe I don't really want to know! LOL
Carol Sue, it is best not to know if they still make them, I haven't seen them in years. It is funny the things we use to eat and not even think about it.
Well made it through Monday, Mondays are always the hardest, but then again it doesn't get easy until Wednesday afternoon!!!! Fridays are the best.

(Sigh) Ichabod is down again today, can't use his legs at all. He's a little more alert tonight than he's been all day though. I even got him to eat a tiny little bit of wet catfood. I hope he's feels better tomorrow. It's so frustrating and heart-breaking because he was doing really well yesterday, the best I've seen him in a long while.
Carol Sue, it's probably good that these treats aren't as good as you remember. That's how it was for me when I bit into a pop tart a couple of weeks ago. I thought I would just love that pumpkin pop tart and instead I thought it tasted like a piece of cardboard covered with artificially sweet sugar.
Chickadeee, I had to smile at your lunch roll-up today because I love bologna and pickle together (bologna and green olives too). Great menu! And Friday will be here before you know it! Good luck at the doctor's tomorrow!
Mars, great job! Your menu is fantastic and your weight is coming back down! ;cp:

The latest study on the size of dinnerware affecting how much you eat and drink is the "most conclusive evidence to date": https://www.yahoo.com/health/its-tru...120338793.html. I've been using this theory to my advantage ever since restarting my diet. I pour store bought bottles of water into my water bottles because I know I drink more when I have my bigger water bottle on hand. And I eat off salad plates, unless, ironically, I'm having a salad! Then I eat from big dinner plates or large bowls.
Hey all! Glad everyone is doing well. I have been off the scale because TOM is too depressing LOL
I will post an update a couple days after. Hopefully I am further into my new decade They used to be a lot shorter and less painful. Aging...what fun!
I had a really crappy day. I just felt like a bunch of people made little snide comments today and I felt really isolated. I know part of this feeling is all the hormones I am dealing with. I get to stay home tomorrow by myself and maybe I will be up for seeing people again Wednesday when I have no choice!
