When my husband cooks, he always cooks way too much. He is the main breakfast cook here, and he cooks too many eggs. The eggs I buy are really big, and I kept telling him to cook one less but he said that wouldn't be enough. He only eats a small portion and piles the rest on my plate. I finally got him not to make as much. I am the type that if there's too much, I eat it instead of wasting it. He used to make 2 pkgs of Ramen Noodles for himself for lunch and never finish it. I would end up eating it. Once I quit eating it and throwing it away he started making only 1.

A few days ago I got really hungry for popcorn because someone here that I won't name, brought up the subject and made me crave it. We don't use microwave popcorn. We buy bags of popcorn and cook it in a pot on the stove. DH was making it and I knew from looking that he put too much in the pan. It popped so high it knocked the lid off the pan and we ended up with an unbelievable amount of popcorn and it popped all over the stove! I like making it that way because I can control the amount of salt, and we use no butter. We put the oil in the pan and sprinkle some salt in the oil and it flavors each kernel. Good.

Lol! Carol Sue and SeeMyFeet, this is what I said to Rennie when I called her Goldilocks. I was alluding to "not too much, not too little" but finding the middle ground, which is "just right" in dieting.

Now if I'm eating junk (starchy stuff) I tend to over eat and then feel bad later, stomach ache, bloated." You definitely need to find the middle ground, girlie, lol! Not 700 calories and not overeating on junk food, just somewhere healthy in the middle, Goldilocks, haha!
Carol Sue, yum! That visual just made me really hungry for popcorn!

Carol Sue and Mars, this is probably all in my head but I attribute my dislike of coffee to growing up in a household where nothing could take place until my parents had at least 2 cups of coffee in the morning. As an impatient kid, it used to drive me crazy, lol! We couldn't go to the beach until they drank their coffee (we lived on the coast of NC until I was 10), we couldn't open our Christmas presents until they drank their coffee, we couldn't take off for vacation until they had their coffee, etc. Oh, how I hated the smell of coffee every single morning. Subsequently, I hate the taste of coffee. Incredibly I married a man who also is not a coffee drinker, so I don't have to worry about it, lol! Now, I absolutely love tea. My babysitter in those early years was from Great Britain and we drank English tea every day. Tea is so smooth and comforting. Coffee is so bitter and jarring. Yep, can't do coffee.

FinallyFree, lol, moms know what's up!

FinallyFree can I please come to your house to eat today How many chicken thighs do you eat at one sitting? I love chicken thighs. I think I can eat at least 4 if that's all I'm gonna eat, yumm Love your menu minus the shroom's can't do those Yeah that cheese comment came out of the blue with stats, and I'm thinking but it is FF's thread and it's not like you ate a mountain, geesh ... get over it, smh. Ok moving on

Jacqui, I knew you didn't One just never knows so we just have to hope for the best . I want shrimp now and yes I have some in the freezer so tonight may be a seafood night also since I also have 6 blue crabs But I'm hoping my son will fix the chicken thighs that he was supposed to cook last evening, smh. At least I have choices, Great NSV on the 12's GO YOU I have some 10's that I long to wear can't button them and some of the 12's kill my stomach. So can't wear all of them yet either YAY on the 179, GO JACQUI

Carol, Jacqui use to get on me about not eating enough calories (and I believe she would have gotten on me the last two days **I'm confessing Jacqui**) I must have been doing Dukan before and my calories were low because all of the protein keeps me full, so she was saying she had went back on our old thread and saw where she posted to me about eating to little of the good stuff or eating too much junk food! .... I needed to find a good medium (middle) and she called me Goldilocks Carol, sorry about the popcorn comment now I want popcorn so you switched it back to me oh I think I'm gonna have to invest in a bag of good ole' popcorn kernels, yumm

Mars, if my son doesn't want to try it I'll give the sugar cookie one to my co-worker. He's a workout nut. They sent me two trial size ones and the one I tasted first was the sugar cookie. I still have a lot of it left since I only pinched a piece off. Is Vitacost cheaper than GNC? I think I am gonna continue to use these as a staple in my diet since they are full of fiber and with these Blue Diamond dark chocolate almonds, I should really be good. oh and trying to eat an orange each day thanks to Jacqui Also I find that if they are refrigerated they taste better, not so chewy. I don't like chewy, gummy things. Nope I haven't caught up yet but I'm close (that means I have to continue to do right also We still have our challenge to come up with after your carb day up is gone I like the cinnamon roll B-Up also, still PB is my favorite. They should do a PB and chocolate

SeeMyFeet, I use to work next door to a Shopper's Club store and I loved loved their salad bar. I would always go to it as soon as they took up the breakfast. I love salad bars as long as they have beets. I love beets. My Great Grandmother use to pickle beets, yum Goodness now I want a salad SeeMyFeet, I can join you on the grumpy, it's been like that with me since Sunday. But I come on here and talk to you and I'm good. SO THANK YOU to ALL

Bewildered left and what happened to Mary (Dairy Fairy)? I sure hope the two of you check in soon, miss you

Chicky and PrairieQueen

Weigh in today was great. I had another good day on Attack yesterday and the scale rewarded me with .5 down to 169.8. Today is supposed to be the last day on Attack but a co-worker wants to give Dukan a shot so I will start over with her. In the mean time I will move on to the Cruise Phase with eating tomorrow. Wish me

Hi everyone.

Today:

B: Eggs and peas, coffee
S: cucumbers (I hope they never go out of season), almonds
L: Grilled turkey burger, cheese stick
S: coffee
D: Top off the pizza with added veggies, salad.

Walked the dogs. (Carol Sue, for some reason I have a craving for popcorn, and yep, we pop our own, that is the only way)

PS, everyone is doing so good or as near as they can for their circumstances.

WannaB,

Is you hubby from a big family? He sounds like he has lots of people to cook for mentality. He also sounds very challenging to eat with. But fun. My hubby came from a big family and we over buy a lot. The best deals are in bulk.

Love2B,,,,come on over. Chicken thighs grilled are great. But I do have some bad news 4 you. I am taking off the skin and giving it to the dogs to lower the calories. I realized how much more they were adding to my calories, since I started counting them. I'm was in denial about calories adding up. This all explains my lack of weight loss. I quess some people can lose weight on low or zero carb and not count calories, but when I actually counted my calories I was shocked at how much I was eating. I am hating this!

So yesterday I did hit 1300 on the calorie range, I could have eaten so much more. Good thing I had some bone broth around to calm the tiger in my stomach. Today I will aim for 1300 again. Same menu as yesterday.

One little tablespoon of butter is 100 calories, and it's so small.

Mars no rush, I'm ready when you are

Chicky my kind of menu

FinallyFree, I have a big family and it seems we never have enough for everyone to have seconds as they get older. My husband is 6'6, so our children are giants. I am the shortest person in the house. Even our 11 year old looks down at me . But skinless chicken is all I buy unless it's wings. I have never even as a child liked skin on chicken so I would love your chicken I've been counting calories off and on for years. Fun and tedious at the same time On Dukan it tells you not to count calories but eat lean meats and non starchy veggies on the PV days. I have to put the food on MFP so I know how much I'm eating. Otherwise I tend to undereat, right Jacqui

Ok bedtime, good night

That's right Rennie! No undereating! (You either, FinallyFree, lol!) Oh my, Rennie, I don't think I even want to hear how little you've been eating; I just want you to up it so that you're eating at least 1200 calories!

FinallyFree, I'm glad you went with the 1300 calories and will continue to do so!

Lol on the popcorn, Chickadeee! The craving for popcorn must be like a yawn. If someone yawns and others see it, they also tend to yawn. Likewise, if one person on here talks about popcorn, everyone else wants it too, and with a description like Carol Sue's how could we not? Yum! I agree "real" popcorn is the best, although as a kid, I used to love Jiffypop. There was just something so exciting about watching that tinfoil rise!

Mars, I hope you have a great weigh-in!

Hi PrairieQueen and Mary! I hope y'all had a great day today!

My mother loved chicken thighs and so do I. I like them grilled or roasted and I cook them with the skin on but take it off before I eat it. No skin for me. Yuk! And Rennie, 4 is not a lot. I can eat that many easily.

PrairieQueen, that magnesium citrate is potent stuff!

Chickadeee, I like both eggs and peas but have never had them together! Sometimes I mix some broccoli in my eggs, though.

Finally Free, DH came from a family of 7. Parents and 5 boys. It was his father's belief that if there wasn't food leftover after the meal then possibly someone was still hungry. So his mother always had to make sure she cooked enough so there was leftovers. I don't know if anyone ever ate the leftovers, I know DH sure won't eat them. When I cook, I try to cook the exact amount that we are going to eat. DH will never take the last of anything, and always leaves something on his plate, except with pie! He eats all his pie!! LOL

Thanks Jacqui! Cautiously optimistic the scale will be kind! I think you have planted your flag in the '70s WTG, and congrats on the 12 jeans!

Rennie I like MFP. I mostly just enter my day's plan, and look up new foods. It's helped me to be sure I'm not under-carbing. Actually I can tell when that's happening by how grumpy I get.

Today was a good day without the B-up bars calling to me.
B mushroom/sauerkraut omelet. whey shake
L salad,chicken,beans, evoo
S whey shake, coffee
D turkey chili, roasted cauliflower
S whey shake, coffee
S broccoli steamed in chicken broth
2 L cold herb tea--vanilla spice,yummmm!

I think I'm too low carb because of the above mentioned grumpy issue, lol. But I felt great otherwise, none of that nagging hunger or urge to snack.

Hmmm….peas and sauerkraut with eggs…learning new things here!

Stomach wasn’t happy with the idea of eggs for breakfast again this morning and woke up Brain, who sent out quick orders for oatmeal. Seemed the better choice amongst the items in the cupboard. Oatmeal with 1/4T butter, 1T brown sugar, ~2T 2% milk and cinnamon. Grumpies were better today. Otherwise, the menu was similar to that from yesterday. I also got to the pool a few minutes earlier tonight.

(Yes, FF, butter has lots of calories. I cut the sticks into ¼ T chunks so I don’t over do.)

What I truly need to do is get more sleep, which I should be able to do tomorrow.

Well, I thought things were going to be cleared out but no. Had a little more action around midnight, but nothing since. Horrible headache continues with no more tummy relief. Staying home today and plan on having a lot of veggie juice.

PrairieQueen: have you tried something "probiotic" to get things moving? Yogurt, if you do dairy. Sauerkraut, or other pickled things. Or for me, cooked beets always cause a pretty quick reaction. Yeah, I'm weird.

My go-to recipe for chicken thighs: cut them into bite-size pieces and stir-fry until close to done. Make a sauce with Bragg Liquid Aminos and some Chili Garlic Paste and pour over the chicken. Cover and let simmer until done. It's awesome if you're craving something Asian-inspired.

WI 170.4@330a. I'd like to think I would weigh less if I had weighed later, lol. Rennie I am working on catching up to you, now. I'm ready for a challenge if you are still interested. Btw, did you ever see documentary Buena Vista Social Club about a group of Cuban musicians? I was thinking of you & your dad's friends. Chan Chan gets me moving!
