Mary, thank you! I love onions cooked in foods also. They don't love me as much though, lol! I can't do raw onions at all. They upset my stomach badly. But I also have to be careful about how many cooked onions I eat. I've found I do best with vidalia onions. During their season, I buy bags of them and chop them up and freeze them to have them on hand.

Chickadeee, I'm just realizing that you crossed over into Onederland and didn't even mention it! So here's a belated but much deserved !

Carol Sue, thank you! I'm so sorry that your dog went through that. I will definitely be keeping a closer eye on my cat. It bothers me that I don't know what caused it, so I'm not ruling anything out! He's getting stronger so I am very grateful for that! Good for you for deciding to concentrate on your health rather than the scale! Your health is what it's all about! I hope the scale goes down for you as a bonus of course (the pregnancy analogy is a good one), but keeping your blood sugar under control is what really matters! I am rooting for you to be able to get off the meds! I hope you find a way to sleep more soundly, and if you do, please share! I've had interrupted sleep for years too.

chickadee- when you say "leftover radishes" do you prepare them in some way?? It is one of those foods I buy every few years and then end up never knowing what would make it taste good. It is a little spicy. Lemme know if you know a good vinaigrette to go with it or method of cooking.

Rennie, Jacqui, Mars, Carol Sue, Bewildered, Prairie Queen- Hope today is going well!

My 2 day thingie worked and I have now lost 9.5 lbs total! I expect to wiggle around a few days but eventually the low number will stick. That's kind of how it's going this time around. I'm not losing small increments frequently...just 1-2 lb jumps every week or two. Kind of like playing the lottery LOL

1/2 lb and I will be at 10 lbs lost and ANOTHER DECADE! Woohoo!

These are pan fried like you would make fresh small red potatoes, I put onion and parsley in them, coconut oil, pepper, salt. They are great with a main dish and breakfast.

Wow, when I log onto this thread the whole thing seems to be getting lighter - is that a reflection of the lbs everyone is losing. Way to go.

Yesterday

B: eggs, coffee
S: pecans, pear
L: chicken salad w/cr cheese
S: yogurt
D: Cheese burger no bun, salad.

I see yardwork in my near future, like tomorrow!

Thanks Jacqui! Hi everyone! Still having issues with posting. My vacation mojo hit a bump with call re my mother being hospitalized. She is ok & recovering nicely. Turned out The hospital overdosed her on pain meds (for abdominal pain, now resolved). The news was that she was in the ICU unconscious. But now she is doing well.

It was 106F today, lovely dry desert heat. It kept thoughts of food at bay. Yay!!!
B 2 mini-omelets made w cheese, 4 small turkey sausage links. splash if protein shake/coffee
L Whey shake, coffee
D salad with tomato, bell peppers, 1/2 roast chicken, slivered almonds, evoo
S small choc chip cookie
about a gallon of water
E 10,859 steps; bought a hula hoop for $1 & so far it drops straight to the ground. Core, baby!

Mars- sorry about your mom...glad it was resolved and wasn't something with her body but an error. I am sure they will triple check her chart from now!

Hula hoop is a great idea! I tried jump rope a month ago and it was hard! I could not even get to the counting part of Cinderella dressed in yella! When I l lose weight and my knees quit creaking I may try it again but the hula sounds perfect for now

We went to thecasino yesterday, but the line for the buffet was too long so we ate at the food court. I had a hamburger with a bun for the first time in a long time and it really hit the spot. An angus patty with lots of lettuce, tomato and onion. I know that bread raises my blood sugar and will not be doing that on a regular basis, but once in a while gives me a treat. DH had the bigger burger and fries with his, and with our coupons and discounts it cost us 32 cents. LOL I saw a woman with a really good looking slice of white pizza but I know better than to indulge in that.

I made some hummus with cannelloni beans and I don't like it. I will toss it down the disposal and make another batch with chick peas. In the past I would eat it rather than waste it, but now, if I'm going to put calories in my body, I want it to be something I really like.

Chickadeee
, I forgot about the fried radishes. I think we have some in the crisper that we keep forgetting to eat. I'll try some today.

Mars, I'm so glad your mother is OK! That is so scary. We have to remember that medical personnel are human, and we all make mistakes some time, but we expect them to be more careful as they hold our lives in their hands.

I recall one time a nurse badgered me into taking a med that I knew was supposed to be held for 3 days. It makes me so mad that I caved. I was ok, and I did report her behavior to the head nurse. I hope they talked to her about it. I should have flatly refused and had her call the doctor for verification.

Jacqui, you are doing so well! This is definitely the plan for you!

Bewildered, wow! You are having some cool temps! Our weather has cooled to the point that we don't need the air condition, but I'm sure the hot weather isn't finished. Come October we will be having those 40s in the morning. I enjoy all the seasons and am looking forward to the colder weather.

Mary, you are taking me waaaay back with Cinderella dressed in yella! LOL I don't even remember the rest of it. I did love jump rope as a kid. And jacks.

Chickadeee, I have a question regarding the low carb cloud rolls, or oopsie rolls. Can they be frozen? I am going to try making them, but would like to be able to freeze them in case I don't eat them all when I make them.
