How do you do that??? I see the button for it, but still can't figure it out!

I just figured it out a few months ago! You just read and hit the multi quote everytime you want to comment on that post. At the end you hit "post reply" and they show up. It's been a few days since I've been on here, so I guess I had a lot of things I wanted to say  I go in and edit some the of quotes too - so I'm just commenting on the topic instead of the whole post.

Hi Everyone,

I discovered this site last January when I first started MRC and visit it often, but have never posted. I figure it's about time so am introducing myself to all of you.

First, I want to say thank you to all of you who have shared your experiences. Although I was silent, your posts were and continue to be so helpful to me. I appreciate your time, insights and suggestions.

Secondly, congratulations to all of you on your losses thus far and I'm sending you wishes for continued success.

Finally, a little about me: I started MRC January 2008 after seeing the great success my friend had. I followed the program faithfully, no cheats at all, until mid-April and lost 29lbs. I was just a couple of pounds from goal and started stabilization....but didn't even get through week 1 without going "off plan" I think I rationalized that since I was no longer in fat burning mode, a few little cheats wouldn't matter. Anyway, I went through the motions of stabilization, got all 6 menus, but was off plan every week. Needless to say, I didn't lose any more weight, in fact I gained back a few pounds from my lowest recorded weight of 126 ending up at 132.

So here I am now in January after a couple of starts, off plan days...restarts...off plan days that turned in to weeks, restarts...you get the picture.

The good news is that I never allowed myself to get above 135lbs. The frustrating piece is that I can't seem to stay on plan long enough to get to goal.

2 weeks ago I went hard core, and started from the beginning and followed the program perfectly until day 10...had a slip up...started on green menu anyway, had a couple of minor cheats Sun, Mon and Tues..and then yesterday had a big off plan day. I feel like a yo-yo.

I really want to finish the process that I started last January, and complete stabilization and figure out what a maintenance menu will look like for me.

My goal is to stay focused and stay on plan completely, no cheats. I know I can do this, because I did it before.

I had something interesting happen today. I bounced up 3 lbs on my scale this morning. I made a juicy bison burger with sauteed mushrooms and garlic toast last night. I probably just overdosed on the Montreal steak seasoning - which is allowed. Then I didn't get my full amount of my monster water intake and only got 4 hours sleep last night. Luckily I got the manager today. My attitude was - it sucks this happened on wi day, but I'm not worried - I'm doing everything right and it's only temporary. She agreed and liked the attitude. Besides, that will make Saturdays wi awesome! I think where people go wrong is they have a bad wi and then get discouraged and eat something off plan. Slow and steady is winning the race here!

I am about to start on the green menu on Friday. At my center she told me to save my 2 meats from the protein 2 section for dinners on my weigh in days because it takes longer for those to digest. She said if I have them the night before WI then i will have a higher weight the next day. She said I could kind of use those 2 meats as my rewards for a good weigh in.... just a though as to when to have them :)

well i wish i hadn't had my beef chili tonight since i was planning on going in tmw. *shrug* i've been going on mondays and thursdays and i'm not losing very much between WI. they figure the "per week" kinda stupidly if you ask me. they took the total i'd lost since the day i signed up *including preconditioning* and figured it by the days i've been on program only. that's not a correct average because it doesn't take into acct the actual time.

raven - you can do it girl. find an alternative activity for when you get the urge to cheat. when i find that i reallllllly wanna cheat, i get on the computer or go clean something *I hate cleaning* or pick up a book, cross stitch, something you can do with your hands that will distract you. make a phone call or just leave the house and go driving *but driving is my chill pill* i just have to keep my butt out of the kitchen where the food is and keep the food away from everywhere else in the house. if the only thing i do in the kitchen is cook and eat and clean then there's no reason for me to be in there otherwise... put up a child gate and don't let yourself near the food till your appointed meal times... lol

Thanks for the suggestions! You are sooo right about staying out of the kitchen. It's amazing the amount of damage that can be done in 5 minutes when the urge to snack hits and for me, it rarely has to do with being hungry. Usually, I am just avoiding some other task that needs doing.

On another note: try not to focus on the rate of weight loss. It does seem to fluxuate. I once had a 3 week plateau, but I was following the program to the letter and kept the faith. Anyway when the plateau ended I lost 5lbs at the next weigh in. My average loss was 2.5 lbs per week even though there were some weigh ins when I didn't lose at all or lost a whopping .5lbs. It can be frustrating, though, because the scale is the focus.

Keep up the good work!!

Raven59..I'm glad to see someone else on here that's around my weight who's having struggles. I started @ 172 last February and down to about 130. I'm also 5'2" (very close to you) and have never let myself go back above 135. I think it's harder the closer you get to goal. I mean, I KNOW it's harder. I've never gone below 125.5 and really want to reach 115, or at least 120. Maybe we can help each other out. I'm back on program (I resigned in December b/c I never made it through stabilization) and have until April 20 but I really want to get there sooner.

I have been losing about a 1/2 lb each time I go in for the last couple of weeks and they actually called me yesterday (they left a message) asking if I was concerned that I wasn't losing quicker! UGH! Uh, NO, I'm not concerned b/c I KNOW I'm not following the plan strict like I should. And honestly, I think a pound a week isn't bad when I'm not even following the plan and I'm so close to goal. I mean, REALLY! Just b/c I'm not losing the 3+ lbs they say you should lose. It was really weird.

Anyway..Feel free to run things by me and maybe we can help each other out. I could use another weight loss buddy and supporter:).

This makes me crazy too...I lost 9 pounds during pre-conditioning and although they count it in my total weightloss, they don't count those days! Its makes their averages seem higher I guess for advertising purposes...Im guessing. I absolutely count the pre-conditioning days because thats when it was the hardest--to ween myself off of all the bad things!

I had my last stabilization WI this morning and was down 1 lb so finally was able to sign the 100 lb board :D:D
I'm officially on maintenance now which is both exciting and scary at the same time. It's amazing to think what a difference a year makes--I started MRC Jan 15 2008!

Congratulations on signing the 100 pound board!!!

That's fantastic.

WorkingARMom 01-22-2009 12:25 PM

I started back following the plan last week and dropped 7 pounds. Then a few BLT's and today I am back up 2. I wish I could get my act together. I need to lose 15 pounds to get back where I was when I started maintenance.
Ugh! I need help.

:cheer3::woohoo:
I am so happy for you!! Congrats!

Thanks guys! It's a good feeling. I had really wanted to get to that 100 lb number--it was just a mental image that I had -- and I'm so glad I was able to actually do it. But, as this was my second time on the program, I'm also acutely aware of how easy it is to gain back. This time I AM going to take full advantage of my year of maintenance & supervision!
