then today we got sleet and snow so i didn't have time to drive home for lunch so i stopped at subway for an oven roasted chicken breast salad. i'm sure that wasn't 6 oz of chicken and there was more than 8 oz of veggies in there but i only got the lettuce, tomato's and cucumber and the olive oil & vinegar for the dressing and apples too. but they put those club crackers in there and i used one of them to get all the lettuce and didn't resist the temptation, i ate the cracker.... didn't have a hns with me either so i had it with dinner tonight which was COMPLETELY back on plan....

When you get the subway salad ask for double meat and that equals 4 oz of protein.

hi everyone. just wanted to write something..i haven't in a while. i have still been faithful to reading posts. i am getting discouraged again....i am not losing fast....only 10 pounds in about a month and a half. i have been so faithful in preparing my meals. so, after i weighed in yesterday, i started eating bad food..and it carried over to today. i have to get back on track, and be thankful even if it comes off slow. but i am seeing a difference in the clothes i am wearing....they are fitting better, and i am even wearing things i haven't been able to wear. BUT why doesn't the scale show? o.k. enough venting...just had to say all this.

My consultant says that not everyone "exudes" ketones in their urine. Some do in their saliva (which gives a metallic taste in the mouth) and she stated that there are other ways as well.

I can relate! I restarted at the beginning of January and while I haven't been perfect, I haven't gone crazy off plan either. I've only lost 2 pounds this month and it's very discouraging. I keep reminding myself that the plan works if you work the plan.

When I get frustrated with slow loss I figure what's the point and cave. Usually I'll go off plan for 2-3 days, then I get refocused but am annoyed cuz I know it's going to take that much longer to reach goal.

So get right back on track now and don't waste another day. You can do it and it will be soo worth it.:carrot:

I looked back at my records from last year (when I never, ever cheated) and essentially stayed the same weight for an entire month, up 2, down 3, up 1, etc. Finally, the scale budged and then I started losing again at a nice rate. Until stabilization, but that's another story. :o

Hang in there Denise .... unless you carry the trait (would be unusual) Amiri won't have it .... however he could have the "trait" as opposed to the anemia that TJ has. People who have actual sickle cell anemia have inherited the gene from each parent. When it's only one, you can have the trait, but not the illness. It's important to know however, so when he gets married one day, his wife can also be tested so they can have any future grandchildren checked (lol .......... funny to think about that when he's so young!!) You probably know all of this anyway, because I know you've been finding out everything you can!!

MetaQuick Update

My last WI was on Monday, and after losing only.5 I decided to try the MetaQuick, so I started on Tuesday. I had to WI today ( I usually do my WI's on Mon and Fri) and I was a little nervous because A) I KNOW I am bloated due to pms B) I weighed in wearing jeans and never wear anything "heavy" C) my bathroom scales read that I hadn't lost anything. D) I was doing WI a day early. Soooo...I go in and I have lost 1 pound!! I was actually thrilled about it...even tho it was ONLY a pound, I will definately take it...now I look forward to my next WI! Plus, I have one more pound to lose and I get to sign the 35lb board!
The downside is that I have a crazy headache...and I never get headaches. I don't know if its due to MetaQuick or not, but if it continues I may stop MetaQuick

Hi BonnieMcC! I too am doing the MetaQuik as I am slowing down. I started yesterday on the MetaQuik. I haven't had any headaches though. Congrats on the 35lbs :high: I'll hopefully be signing the 25lb board on Friday too.

I am joining some of you on the Meta-Quick plan. My WL has slowed way down and even stopped for over a week or two at a time. I was feeling some frustration a couple of weeks ago but I am ok with the way things are now. I know that it is my body adjusting to what I am doing. The first 50 came of slowly but very steadily so I got spoiled. I was concerned for a while because I felt like I was starting to get complacent about the program and starting to consider BLTs I might enjoy!

I’ve been completely OP but only lost about 3lbs since the day after Christmas. The center wasn’t sure I was on a plateau because I stayed the same for the first 1.5-2 weeks then lost 0.5 then stayed the same and so on. I actually had one day where I lost 2.5 but then gained the next time and stayed the same after that. The center has been good at trying to help me but I don’t take any of the supplements and enhancers they sell because of prescription drugs I am on that can interact. During this time, my menu changed to the beige menu and I lost my afternoon snack. It’s taking some adjustments to balance the timing of meals and HNS down right so I don’t go over the 5 hrs between eating.

Any way, I will be doing the MetaQuick starting on Monday for three days. I had too much planned including a super party to start tomorrow. I will be OP for the party but didn’t want to be feeling too deprived by start Meta-Quick before then.

Wow...it sounds like several of us are struggling with slow weight loss. One of the appealing things about MRC is how quickly and steadily the weight comes off. I guess we all just need to be patient and keep the faith while our bodies adjust. It's just so hard, because seeing the scale move down is proof that we are losing and provides a reward for our hard work of staying on plan. When the scale moves down it brightens my day, but when there is no movement or when the scale creeps up, it is so deflating.

I hope you all get a kick start with Metaquick.

I'm celebrating day 3 of staying totally on plan, and that is very satisfying. I think I'll take a break from the scale for 2 weeks and just focus on staying totally on plan.

ford4life69 01-29-2009 07:30 PM

well i went in today before lunch which is kind of a cheat because i always weigh in the evenings... i lost 3.5 since last thursday so i'm alright with that. i figure it won't be as much when i go back in on monday of course cuz it won't be as many days between now and then but i'm really hoping i keep going steadily like i am. i feel like i'm going to drown sometimes with the water but i think that's more because i use it to fight the tired/bored munchies in the evenings so i've been getting 5 and 6 bottles in per day! ...

sessa555 01-30-2009 04:15 AM

I did the full 7 days of MetaQuick and had migraines/headaches on and off the entire week. This is not unusual for me (I get chronic migraines which luckily I have awesome meds for so I am able to still function like a normal person!), and any time I make any big change in my diet I get migraine-y. My center told me that the reason for the migraines is that we store estrogen in our fat cells, and when we flush our systems/reboot we get a large release of estrogen as we lose fat. This makes perfect sense to me, since my migraines tend to be primarily triggered by hormonal stuff. Anyway, I powered through the headaches and took Advil and Maxalt (migraine prescription) as needed. It wasn't the greatest, but since I am so used to living life with headaches it was kinda par for the course for me. I can completely see why anyone not used to it would not want to subject themselves to MetaQuick headaches!

I've been back on regular plan food for 2 days and am already missing the convenience of MetaQuick. I HATE packing so much food around all the time! I WI tomorrow and am going to pick up some more premade shakes to use as meal replacements a few times a week. I think the limit is 3 times per week, but I wish I could just do shakes for lunch every day.

Also, I can't find the 'how to make your ticker' thread anywhere. Help!
