I can't remember the details, but it's on the receipe thread. I used extracts to get the flavor. I haven't had any of the shakes this time around - I bought too many meal replacement bars - don't know what I was thinking. I'll be out of clears long before I run out of creamies.

I am so glad to hear the shakes are worth the money. The packets are huge! I know when I make the powder drinks in my magic bullet they end up being pretty big (and foamy) so I am excited to have my first choc shake tomorrow! Also, I know what you mean about too many creamies. The first order I placed I bought 5 boxes of creamies, 5 of clear without full understanding that I would be drinking twice as many clears as I would creamies. I also thought I bought too many hot cocoas (it was really cold the day I bought them) and wanted to take them back for exchange. The didnt have anything good in the exchange box so I kept them and now I truly enjoy it more than all other creamies (well I also love the choc pudding)

Bonnie, my center doesn't recommend Metaquick (some don't) so I've never done it. But having read about it a lot here, just wanted to tell you not to discouraged if it doesn't seem like it's working at first - sometimes it doesn't really show any results until you go back to the regular menu, then you have a big drop. It's like it's shaking up your system a bit.
I'm surprised they're suggesting it, actually, since you're still fairly early in the program & losses naturally ebb & flow, and if you're PMSing it's normal to stall a bit. But good luck with it - hopefully it'll work for you!

Thanks for the reality check :) I was actually surprised they recommended it so early as well. They FIRST recommended a couple of weeks ago and I had lost 3lbs that week. They told me to think about it. I was kinda hoping the meal bars would come in a variety pack because there were so many yummy ones to choose from. I just went with a weeks worth of pnut butter (I do miss pnut butter!!) I will keep you guys update to let you know what MetaQuick does for me!

btw this is my first multi-quote...not to bad except it says I quoted myself when I really quoted Meemo

Meemo and Gina--thanks for your responses. Everyone keeps telling me that I'll lose another 5+ lbs on stabilization, but for some reason I'm having trouble believing it! Probably b/c the last 10+ lbs have come off so slowly on the green menu. I am anxious to head towards maintenance though and very excited about new food additions :) I go to stab class on Thursday night, and I think I'll plan to start stab the following Monday. That's my plan for the moment anyway :D

OH--will they take my "after" picture at the stabilization class/party? I need to know how much to primp ahead of time :)

Hi!! Do you mind if I ask how long it took you to lose your weight? I am in about the same boat number wise as you were. I am getting married and wondering if i will hit my goal weight by May 16th. thanks.. and CONGRATS !!!!!!!!!!!:cp::cp::cp::dancer::dancer::dancer:

I am starting MetaQuick tomorrow. Its something that they recommended to me because my weightloss was slowing down a bit. On Friday I lost 1.5 and then today I lost .5. My avg weightloss before this was around 4lbs a week. I don't know if it has to do with PMS or what?! I have done everything to plan. They gave me a new menu and said I can only do it once a month for a week. You have either a meal replacement bar for breakfast or lunch and a shake for either breakfast or lunch (you can only have one of each kind a day)..so if you have a bar for breakfast you have to have the shake for lunch. I am on the meta quick plus (because I am over 200lbs) so I also have to have 5 HNS a day. B/L/D and 2 snacks. No "real" food until dinner. Dinner menu is pretty much the same as current menu you are doing, except protein choices are very limited. I believe mine says white tuna, turkey or chicken. I am actually excited about starting it because I am so tired of all the veggies at lunch. It takes way too much time to cut them and to eat them! Im also looking forward to the bars and shakes..I heard they are really good.
The downfall is that I was told be 2 mrc gals that I could do just the bars which were included in the 5 boxes for $50 special without buying shakes. I was told by todays gal that I would need the shake, because at my level I can't just do bars (I would get too hungry) and the shakes were $21.50 for 7 packets. Again, another complaint about the expensive of MRC. I am hoping this will kickstart weightloss again. They did tell me that meta quick doesn't work for everyone. I am going to thing positive and I am GOING to lose atleast 3 pounds this week!!

that sound like something that I might want to try too. I am not a morning person or really an egg person either... i would love to have a shake or just a bar instead of eggs. the center told me i can do the bar instead of breakfast but then i don't get my creamy hns and i wanted to try out the puddings so i didn't buy any bars... let me know how it works for you. i am interested to know.!! GOOD LUCK!!

Thanks! ;) Haha - good suggestion but, she was in the car with me - We went thought drive thru, so she told me what she wanted. I figured she could make the right choice if she wanted. It was hard to smell that yummy food, but I remained strong as steel.

I do our chick fil a every now and then and get the grilled chicken salad with the fruit! It's perfect for lunch since it has all our components! Then I usually pack my own dressing!

Hi Laura! I started preconditioning on Sept. 11 and went on the menus around Sept. 20. The last 15 or so pounds have come off more slowly but the first 20+ flew off. I've been meaning to count my weeks and calculate my average. I have stuck pretty close to the menu w/ few cheats. You can definitely hit your goal before your wedding!!! You're doing great so far!

Hello, I am on my second go around w/ the MRC diet. I am on day 67, and I am very discouraged. I haven't lost any weight since January 1, in fact I have put on 3 pounds. I have been following the diet until last friday night and I only had a piece of bread and one small serving of ice cream. I average about 3-4 HNS a day depending. I have been on this site for a few days now and I have already found a lot of encouragement. But I am still having trouble keeping 100% focused. I am trying and I will not give up. I was just hoping to be thinner and down at least 25 pounds by now in stead of 13.

Morning everyone!

So, I have an interesting story to tell. TJ, Amiri and I went up to the mountains on Friday night and by Saturday morning had to take TJ to the hospital because he was in extreme pain. He ended up being diagnosed with Sickle Cell and we had to get off the mountain immediately because his spleen was enlarged and could have ruptured (his liver was compromised also). So, down the mountain we went and got him into the local hospital. He got out on Sunday but we have to go see a specialist on Thursday so we can understand this whole thing as it pertains to our life.... So, crazy huh? Oh, I gave you all the short and sweet story of course! I just can't believe at 45 yrs old we find this out! Wow.....

I lost another lb, and have just a couple left to my goal. My program is up at the end of Feb so wherever I end up then, is where I'll be!

Have a great day everyone!

namaste 01-27-2009 11:41 AM

Oh, here is a pic before we got kicked off the mountain. Ignore my demon eyes, the sun was bright and it was snowing so I was really squinting!

You look awesome! We will keep all of you in our prayers! I hope everything goes well Thursday. Are you seeing someone in Greeley or Denver?

I went in today after a month of basically remaining the same they finally suggested Metaquick! I was sooo relived! If the counselor had told me that they don't suggest it I would have done it anyways! She also said there's a two meal a day plan that I could try also. We'll do measurements on Friday to see where the lean muscle is and hopefully it is still going down. That was the reason I signed up for another 10 weeks!

Thanks! We are seeing a Dr Michael Stone in Greeley. He's a Hematologist and looks like he's been practicing for 27 years. I've gotten some good feedback about him from our family Dr and Judy (here on the blog) so fingers-crossed.

I'm glad they are putting you on metaquick. It should jump start everything. Keep up that water!

It was very scary but I'm glad he's feeling better.

Thank you!

Wow Denise .... fascinating that he's never had issues until now. Sending best wishes and healing thoughts TJ's way. You look terrific!
