Hi everyone!
I have a question about supplements. I thought I saw a list of alternative supplements to use if you are doing it on your own, does anyone have a link to this? Or any recommendations for the Multi and MRC? Thanks for the information. |

Congrats! You continually inspire me! I'll keep praying that all goes well with those blood tests! Have a good week! |
Congrats Denise! You were here back when I was going strong the first time. am going to print your post out and keep it by my food log to encourage me. You have worked hard. Please keep us updated onhow maintenance works. There are two ladies at church that have done MRC. One had to stop because of $$$ and gained all of her weight back. another had lost about 90 lbs and has gained almost all of it back. She is going back to MRC. She said she did not do maintenance. I do not want to be a loser. I want to be a BIG loser and keep it off!!! Now we are all bak and we hope to lose together.
Also, praise God for the news about TJ. Please keep us updated! |

http://www.3fatchicks.com/forum/showthread.php?t=143754 Any good multivitamin will do - I usually use one that's for "weight loss" or "diet" support. As far as the MRC-6 goes, the closest I've found is here: http://www.iherb.com/ProductDetails.aspx?c=1&pid=506 If you have your bottle, you can take it to your local health food store to see if they have anything with the same ingredients. |
I just posted this on the "advice for newbies" thread, so if you read it there, move on, nothing new to see here ;) But knowing some of us probably don't keep up with that thread I wanted to post it here too.
Don't buy too many clothes as you're losing weight, and don't try to do too much buying "out of season". I picked up things because they were so cheap at the end of season sales, thinking "Well, by fall they'll probably be about right". Nope, I went right through those sizes & ended up selling clothes with the sales tags still on them in a garage sale because I guessed wrong & they were too big by the time they were in season. And don't forget about Goodwill/Salvation Army/consignment shops/thrift stores. I've found some seriously good deals there, even today (which made me think of this!) - and when you're losing weight & sometimes zipping through a size or two pretty quickly, you don't want to invest much in clothes you aren't going to wear for long. And I might've said this before, but get rid of those old, too big clothes in your closet! It's way too easy if you have them stashed in the back of the closet to fall back on to let the weight creep back on. So get rid of them - ALL OF THEM! If you find yourself down to one pair of pants that fits, you're a lot more likely to get your butt back in gear & back on plan! (Been there, done that!) |

I'm in the middle of a plateau so my body is testing me. I'm just pressing on and trying not to focus on the #'s on the scale. My 5k training is going great - I'm on week 5 of the 9 week program now. I did something a little silly this morning, I signed up for a 5k run/walk on Feb 7th. I don't know if I will be able to complete it - but I thought it would be fun to try! They did adjust my goal weight down last week - I'm still trying to wrap my head around the # - 155! It's right in the middle of my 145 - 166 range, but I had my heart set on my goal weight of 160. I still have plenty of time left on my contract. They are going to be flexible with me if I get close to that # and feel like it's too low. I'm .5 over the healthy BMI range, which is really exciting for me!! So overall, life is good! |
Denise - Congratulations on TJ's news and reaching goal! Keep us posted, please.
ShineOn - One of my goals is a 5K. Let us know how it goes. Laura - I think that it is interesting that we started about the same time (within days of each other) and plateaued at the same time as well. Hmm... Jeanne in Jax |

namaste - glad you've got some good news and exceeded your goal! awesomeness!
dla - that's great to hear about the blood pressure meds. i'm not on anything but i don't want to ever be on anything either! that's a great motivator! i was doing pretty good till friday night. wed was my bday so fri my BF came over with a bottle of rum... mmmmmmmm neither of us had more than two shots but i know alcohol is off plan and the way that chick talked at WI tonight was the QUICKEST way to get outta ketosis. :( i also had coke zero thinking well sprite zero has no caffeine sodium bla bla .. wrong answer with coke i discovered after it was too late. COKE ZERO DOES HAVE CAFFEINE :( saturday was on plan and i got in 6 bottles of water and sunday was almost on plan, i skipped the veggies at dinner cuz the only thing my BF's fam made was baked taters *MY ABSOLUTE FAVE!* but i had an extra hns *3 for the day* and 7 bottles of water and didn't have the brownies or the chips or the awesome cheese dip his gramma made or anything. :D combine that with the fact i've never had a plateau yet and TOM and salt on the steak and caffeine in the coke and my last WI was at a different time of day than normal, they're showing me up 2 lbs. :( my scales haven't moved either way since thursday which is before the alcohol screwed up my weekend anyway so i'm hoping it's plateau time instead of me screwing up time. but the girl i don't like that much did my measurements today... i lost 17.75 inches total to date if she figured it right. YAY!!!! completely loving it! i traded all my XL work shirts with a lady who grew out of her L shirts :D mine were in much better shape than her's but you know what, i plan on needing the medium ones in another month or two anyway so i don't even care right now! my bestest friend gave me a pair of her post pregnancy pants that she shrank back out of in a size i haven't been able to wear since college and they fit and LOOKED GOOD. so that's my victories along with my screw ups... i'm hoping to be back on track and i'm tempted to delay my next WI till friday even though i go EVERY monday *for the psychobabble class* just so i have more time to see a bigger number for this week. y'all have a great week!!!!! |
Meemo, or anyone....
Has anyone tried to make pudding out of the flavored whey protein? Just wondering. I bought unflavored whey protein and egg whites. I will try my first experiment today at lunch. Wal-Mart has drink mixes that are like Crystal Light but under $2. I bought a few of those to flavor my new supplement mixtures. Do you mix these shakes up in a blender? Didn't they used to make sugar-free Kool-aid mixes? It has been so long since I even bought Kool-aid that I was surprised not to find any. I am over my sinus infection, but still have a nasty cough. Two more days of antibiotics. I hope to see the water weight go from being sick as soon as I get off the antibiotics. The 6 day steroid pill pack made me retain water, too. I am going to to try to be faithful to a "T" this week because next week we go to Disney World with Mark's brother, Joe. Joe just got back 2 weeks ago from Afghanistan. Disney world gives all servicemen a free 5-day park hopper pass. His wife will get in for about $130 total. We already have season passes. We also got into a moderate Disney resort for $89 a night (Go to mousesavers dot com to get similar deals). Anyhow, we also bought the meal plan. I am concerned about staying on my diet. 2 years ago I went to Disney for 4 days and lost 6 lbs. Maybe I can do that again!!!!! Let's all work hard to keep focused on our goals!:val1: |
Sorry gals that I havent been checking in, my computer is down (both laptop and desktop) and I am using office computer. I dont have time to chat too much today, but wanted to let you all know that I lost 4 lbs this past week doing meta-quick!
