I would ask. I do know that they do different things for people, one reason is the current weight, another is any health concerns.

I loved my pre-conditioning menu. I was happy to move on though, and tomorrow I will learn what I am doing next.

One other thing though, I used the meal selector to purchase food for the week, and on days 1-4 can not use them. DH and I had a discussion about that tonight - "Why do we have a 1 lb bag of onions if you can not eat them" talk.

PS sorry it took me so long to respond to this question. I saw it on the noob thread, got my paper out to respond, and got distracted with the kids.

no i appreciate the response... internet forums are one of my things and i tend to forget that everyone else has a life..

I'll talk to her tmw and see if there's anything more specific i should be doing.... according to my scales i'm down already but then i always tend to have a 5 lb variance up and down around my tom and i'll be done with that tmw prolly.

i think i've been doing alright, things like subway chicken wraps or salads etc since i don't have any specific guidelines but i didn't do so great tonight cuz it's cold and that last can of chili just wldn't say no. now i don't have to worry about it calling me after i get started cuz it's already gone

off to bed for now.. i'll update if they tell me anything significant tmw...

Thanks,

Connie

Connie, my center didn't give me a preconditioning menu either. Just basic guidelines about weaning off caffeine, sugary carbs, upping water, more protein/fruits/veggies, etc.

Day 3 back OP. I'm past the initial feeling crappy/detoxing phase and am looking forward to seeing the numbers go down. My roommate and I tried the BEST broccoli recipe tonight. I love steamed broccoli, but we roasted it in the oven with a touch of olive oil, some garlic and a bit of sea salt. It was crispy and yuuuuuumy!

I'm still wondering if anyone has info on the MetaQuick bar/shake plan that they have. I'm thinking about doing it next week to kickstart myself back into losing quickly.

It stands for Hungry, Angry, Lonely, Tired. Are you hungry.... eat when you need to, not when it's too late and becomes more than just eating for nurishment. Are you angry.... walk away, journal, etc.... but don't eat for emotion. Are you lonely.... again this is emotional eating.... talk to someone, read, journal, etc. Are you tired.... rest.

When I get tired, I want to eat. I don't know why but I think my mind gets crossed about what I need. It thinks the nourishment I need is food when it's really just rest.
I LOVE this Denise! Thanks for sharing that. And CONGRATS on the AMAZING loss of 165 lbs

Your center should be able to give you a MetaQuick "menu" but basically you have either a bar or shake for breakfast and lunch (max of 1 bar in a day), and a regular white meat dinner. Same # of HNS as usual. They don't want you doing it for more than 7 total days in a month. Hope that helps!

Actually not all the centers do Metaquick--mine doesn't!

Does anyone know if there is a way to figure out your total muscle mass from the TANITA print out? I think that it is FFM - TBW, but I am not sure. I am trying to figure out if I am losing muscle in this process.

Thanks.

My center doesn't actively encourage it. They don't have a problem with me doing it as long as it's not overdone. It's good for travel or when you need to refocus, but it doesn't help you learn better eating habits.

Doesn't your center tell you this when they do your measurements?

Nope. They don't calculate hydration unless you ask them to.

okay...not to give tmi, but has anyone tried MRC colon cleanser? I have been taking benefiber for a few weeks with not a lot of luck. I don't want to waste my money on something that doesn't work. If you have any suggestions, please let me know!
