Sounds great, Ms Ruthie!
Why don't you come up with a great name and post on the 1st! I'll keep reminding people here that we should go to our new thread!
Thoughts?

Remind me. I can close this thread then and direct people to the new one.
I guess we don't want to call ourselves the MFers!
"The Medifast Folks - January Thread" ? I'm not feeling really creative but that might work. If we go too cutsey or catchy we might not be recognized.

Ruth,
You're doing great! You were smart to start when you did. Even if you don't lose, you aren't gaining. I, however, have gained 9 pounds - yikes!! Be proud of what you've managed to do at this horrifyingly wonderous time of year and CHOOSE to go on and STAY on program beginning on the _______. For me it's the 28th. We'll all do it together.

SweetP,
My goodness, you are kicking butt and taking names!! Well done!

Hello everyone! It's almost over!! It's already the 21st! I'm so SCARED!! Tell me again how easy it is.

How about the MFing Losers??

Thanks, Michelle. You are right - at least, I am staying the same. I don't know how today will go - I seem to have a "digestive disturbance" going on. We'll see how the day goes. I suspect I've been ingesting too much soy - it couldn't be blackberries or white chocolate cranberry crunch, I'm sure! Sorry! Food PORN!

The name for the January Thread? Hmmm. That will take some thinking. We need the word Medifast in the title so new folks find us but .....

LOVE the name, Ms Michelle! But I fear that Ms Ruthie will be in a bad spot, what with the double entendre AND being a moderator and all...Don't worry, Ms Ruthie! We'll all come up with something catchy AND appropriate!
Guys, don't worry about the numbers at this time of year! You'll be surprised how quickly it'll come off once you give it 100%. Week ONE for you will be hard but motivating, you'll think you have it licked by Week TWO. Week THREE shows a bit of a slow-down in weightloss speed. Week FOUR is when it hits you that you are in it for the long haul -- I got a bit angry about that, but soon re-committment and resignation about the whole mess hits at Week FIVE. Week SIX, you are pretty much on autopilot. You realize that weight loss ISN'T linear (2lbs per week each and every week!) and you just manage as well as you can.
At least, that's been my experience! And that is going at it 100%.
And remember -- weight comes and goes and it can be FIXED. IT ISN'T PERMANENT!!! Thank Goodness!
Later,
Maya

Hi gang . . .

Just wanted to wish everybody a Very Merry and Extremely Happy and Healthy WHATEVER it is that you may be celebrating over the next couple of weeks.

I probably won't have a chance to check in here while I'm away . . . but you never know, I might get lucky. Hang in there gang and I'll find the new thread on January 3 when I'm back whatever you decide to call it. Just follow the KISS principle and you can't go far wrong.

See you later . . .

How about "The Medifast Chicks Jump Into January"? "....Forge On In February" "....March into March" "....Achieve Success in April" ".....Motivate in May" ?????

Right now I am trying to focus on getting my kitchen chores done - one more batch of cookies and then I start on the finger foods for my party. Oy! I find wearing surgical gloves when cooking and keeping a glass of water close by really helps.

Oh yeah, I was thinking the same kinda thing--have a group name and following it with the appropriate month and description. Maybe, though, our group name could have just a subtle reference to our wandering imaginations/eyes. You know, something that we could all appreciate but might make other people wonder about us a little.
Examples--
Bad MediFast-ers: January Jam
or
Sexy MediFast-ers: January Jive
etc.

Tomorrow, I'm flying to Houston but will just be there for 3 1/2 days. It's a very quick business trip (really, I'm playing my trumpet at a few different churches) and then it's back to PA. Anyway, I just baked 24 mini muffins using 5 oatmeal packets and two eggs among other things. I plan to also take a bag of raw veggies with and then I'll have a very portable 5+1 and not have to worry on this long travel day about food timing and prep.

Happy Holidays, Everyone!

OK, so lets get back to the
FUN
SUPPORTIVE
KIND
MFing Mama's thread!!!! Although, I'm not a mama, except to my kitties!
I like the idea of keeping a name, followed by a monthly tag. That's a great idea!
Ms Cammy - you play the TRUMPET! That's fantastic! Good luck with your performances in Houston.
Ms Meowee - safe travels: your fur family will be just fine.
SweetP - like it was said before, you're kicking butt and taking names!
Ms Ruthie - if you need ANYTHING at all over the holidays, just give me a call. I can be there within the hour! But don't ask me to taste your home-made goodies!!!
To everyone here -- Happy Hannukah (it's over, I know!), Happy Kwanza, Happy Ramadan (again, over, but better late than never!), Merry Christmas! I try to be all inclusive (I'm not up on my Buddhist celebrations, if there are any, which I don't think that there are, except for the New Year...), so what I am rather clumsily saying is HAPPY HOLIDAYS and all the best to you and your families. Keep strong during the season, do the best that you can do each day, forgive yourself for your slips, and get right back on our MFing train to weight loss success!!!!
I love you all!
Maya

Don't forget about me!!!! In one week, I'll need your help - and I know I'll get it.

I wish you all joy and happiness. Again, I have such admiration for all of you. May all your wishes come true...

You are gorgeous too, Michelle - and you live in FL and might have a spare room We'll keep it in mind if we get more snow up here!

Hey! It's the first real day of winter and the days will be getting longer! There's a cheery thought! Winter whining is very aging so I try not to do it - remind me if I slip!

I am still holding my own. Thanks to Maya's suggestion re Christmas, I'm doing three MF meals per day and eating as well as possible for dinner. I go to the Mayor's Open House thingie this afternoon and will be able to avoid the food easily - I know his caterer! Tonight there is a BD party dinner that I know is pasta! Oy! I'll focus on salad and the veggie antipasto I am bringing and hope for the best.

Lots to do this morning, including a quickie trip to the booze store. I also need to make two more batches of goodies for my gift baskets and get them outta here!

Have a lovely MFing day - as best you can.
