S/C/G: Lost 50 lbs, regained some

Height: 5'3"

The nighttime noises make me think rats. We had some get under our floor. They like to gnaw on the wood joists, etc. Of course, it could also be red squirrels. I can't remember where you live. I hope for your sake it was just a short-visiting critter, Michele.

I live in Northern California-- we've had rat issues before. There are squirrels around as well-- so these were my two thoughts-- leaning towards the rats but it sounded HUGE-- of course, sounds can amplify at 1:30 am... right?!?!

we've just got a family of possums moved in somewhere close. Next door is being renovated and I think they used to live there until the roof came off, then the next night it rained they decided they needed a new home and were scurrying around on our roof looking totally bedraggled. Now we hear them on the roof sometimes at night and the dog goes nuts. I guess they're probably double-squirrel size, but definitely sound big at night!

Yuck! I love animals but... rodents? Not so much...
Not hearing anything today. Praying it isn’t just nocturnal and gonna wake me later.

Raccoon, squirrel, rat, mouse, possum - a long list of critters it could be Michele. Since it stopped moving when you started banging it's probably nocturnal so that narrows it down to possum or raccoon or maybe rat. All of these critters will do a great deal of damage to your wood, insulation, wiring, etc. so good that the exterminator is coming.

Rats are most active at night. Before we got rid of ours, we were driven to wearing earplugs to sleep.

I had to start wearing earplugs when DH and I moved into an apartment where the bedroom was in the basement. The subway went by under our block. I've kept wearing the earplugs over the years as I find noise is what wakes me up. That and the tiny ferocious cat paws of Natalie.

nice work on the 'summer range' Mudpie!

I made 100 good food choices this week and had two lapses. It's felt like I've been diligent, but those lapses add up to a ton of calories and make all the difference (or rather they keep me stable rather than letting me lose). I really need to be very consistent at this weight to lose, so 114.2lb this morning and no loss to report this week. I now have 3 weeks remaining til my trip to get this unwanted 1xkg off!...

I belong to a Facebook group called This Cat is C H O N K Y. They have some of the funniest names for various cat parts. Nip nope, poop loop, toe beans, voids (black cats), etc. I always get a laugh out of that group. (And you don't have to own a fat cat to belong.)

My word there are a lot of fat cats out there. I checked out the group. Nat, at 9 lbs., can't join of course. I think that's a good thing.

I too am a Chonky Cat member. But my personal beast is a lardy lass of 16 pounds so I am a legitimate owner of a chonk
