Alice - it is starting to feel like spring here, too. Or it was - then it was 33 this morning when I left for work. Pollen on my car, blooming flowers, and 33? What? I need some spring!
Met my client's new rhodesian ridgeback pup yesterday. All ears and paws and totally enthusiastic about everything I did with her. Haven't had a young pup on the bus in a long time - love it!
with you on the "better food choices" this week Shannon. I put on a good 2lb in the last 10 days with all those Indian curries, and beer, and general indulgence, and I totally deserve it, so just starting Day 3 of back-to-basics! I had one day at this weight back in November, and before that it was October since I saw weights over 114, so needs attention!
Well we're getting the opposite of your Spring shift, with darker mornings and heaps of rain. Plus our plumbing needs an emergency call out this morning because somethings bust under the back deck and we can hear water pouring out. Not good when we're on a water meter and pay for the volume used! I suspect the problem might be under the lime tree somewhere which i'm expecting means we'll have to dig it up since it's in a planter box and that's probably the only access. Shame, it gave us some good fruit this year.
With the opening of the pot shop we did all the glass on, we stopped by for the grand opening but it was a total zoo. The next day we stopped by and I ended up getting two vape pens. Both by Dosist, one is called Calm (just CBD oil) and one called Sleep (8:1 or 9:1 THC to CBD oil). I did the Sleep one last night and my Oura (fitness tracker) said I did sleep longer, but not any deep sleep (although I felt like I'd slept a whole lot better). I did wake up, but fell back asleep without any trouble. I think I prefer this to taking Advil PM like I usually do. DH tried it as well and he said he felt like he slept better as well. Tonight I'll experiment with the Calm--hopefully that will allow me to forego a cocktail at night (my main roadblock to losing weight because of all the calories).

Interesting. We don't have Vape pens here - just oil or dried. I'm hoping someone starts producing edibles for the Canadian market soon - that would be my preferred mode of ingestion. It's a brand new industry so i imagine it will evolve a lot in a short period of time. Expensive as heck up here in Canada though. I'm toying with the idea of growing my own plants - we are allowed 6 for personal consumption - but i really don't want to smoke the stuff.
I've heard you need to be really careful with edibles. They act a lot slower and people are apt to over medicate using them because they think after an hour, if nothing seems to have changed, to have more. And then they're in a spot.
I didn't notice much difference using the Calm CBD vape, but then I've use CBD oil without feeling much different--other than nothing gets on my nerves so perhaps it was working.
I slept well according to my Oura, but I felt like I was awake a lot more than usual. I do feel rested. And my weight is down, so there's that.
Leaving work early to get my hair done today so it'll be a relaxing day.
uggg, alinnell, I hate getting my hair done, that doesn't sound relaxing at all to me!
In fact I hate being 'faffed' with in any form - massages, manicures, whatever - there's no way i'm going to choose to spend time doing any of those things! Hair is a necessary evil unfortunately, but for example I'd much rather go to the dentist (because it's only 30min) than sit for 2hrs in the hairdressers getting a colour/cut. And don't get me started on the cost...…!
I love going to the hairdresser, but I think it is because she is a good friend of mine and has been doing my hair for 21 years now. Prior to that, I was a Great Clips when it got too long to handle kind of gal.
Longlonglong week this week. And it is only Thursday, and not even yet noon.
I'm with Ange in the hair/nails/fluff category. Can't stand spending time and money for it. Once enough hair grew back after chemo, I got a few cuts at Great Clips but was rarely satisfied. Now I've been clipping my own, just a snip here and there, now and then. Probably not the greatest cut but it looks more like what I want and I've even gotten compliments - go figure.
Happy Spring! I'm going hiking in the foothills tomorrow to experience the early poppy superbloom!

I managed to avoid all the alcohol and chips at my client's house. This was a very short sit - 2 days - but I'm still calling it a win.
And I managed to get up to a vintage store I really like and scored a mid-century modern brass and walnut table lamp. Had a long chat with the husband of the couple who run the place and am going to sell my LP's to him.
Two good wins there Dagmar. Well done!
I love getting rid of stuff too. We downsized to a place about half the size two years ago and it was great! It IS great! I definitely feel better the less clutter I have.
I've been making bad choices on the food again this weekend, and had a tough gym session this morning where exercises that I normally feel like an ever-ready bunny for, were just hard work. I'm sure it's because I've been eating rubbish and drinking alcohol, so today I start again, and commit to good quality food in moderate portions and NO CHOCOLATE/SWEET STUFF til at least Friday!
