Hey there, KC! How are you? How have you been? Other than what brought you back here, that is.

Michele - how is the Peleton so far?

Georgette - great job on holding steady over the holidays.

Alice - I love the doctor's office scales. The nurse in my last doctor's office would let me set the tabs when I was on it, then she would settle it in once I stood still. It made the weighing almost fun.

Yesterday turned out to be insane and stressful - trouble with my bank and an unauthorized transaction with hours on the phone and on hold, left the fish I'd taken out to thaw for dinner on the counter in the morning and it not being in any shape to safely cook for dinner, some general chaos at work with insurance issues, ending with dinner out and a margarita the size of my head. The rest of the day was fine food wise, back on track today. Hopefully, without stress causing crisis. I'm back to 2 pounds over my lowest weight point, so 6 of my holiday 8 are gone.

Got the outside decorations boxed up and put back on storage shelves this morning. The last of the Christmas stuff being put away always makes me a little sad.

Shannon,
They delivered it last night and by the time dh and I had a chance to look at it (after dinner, etc.), we each just did a 20 minute beginner ride. It seems like it's going to be AMAZING but it will take awhile to figure out all the bells and whistles!
I probably won't "ride" again till Wednesday as tonight it Bikram Yoga, and I still need to do a Leg workout-- not sure if that's a good idea with the bike!
Dh left today for China so unfortunately he won't get to use it until he gets back. He can access classes via the app, and they have many others besides spinning so he may explore that while he's gone.

Definitely let me know what you think when you use it more, Michele!

Pretty good day here today so far. Hanging in there.

Hanging in there as well....

Went home after Bikram last night and did the Leg workout. That was hard to get motivated for, but I wanted it DONE so I can do the bike tonight.
Work has been crazy busy after 2 weeks off! Just tired....

Another good day so far today. Up at 4:15, did some yoga, rode the stationary bike, dusted the upstairs and downstairs rooms, made breakfast and lunch for the boy, cleaned one of the bathrooms, came to work. Now, I'm tired. LOL

Food has been really good the last few days.

Well... not as early as I should. I only have to get up that early when we have the boy, so Thursdays and every other Monday. I try to go to bed by 9 on the nights before, but doesn't always happen. I am SO NOT a morning person.

I'm so used to getting up early- around 40 years now that I've had to do it - that I can't sleep in even if I have the opportunity. I'm OK with getting up at 4:30 and having a nap in the afternoon. It's the mornings when I wake up at 2:30 or so that make for a really long day. Those nights I'm ready for bed at dinner time.

Side effects from my new bike classes at home?
Starving and queasy off and on-- eating more (good) calories to compensate--
And.... I've lost 5 pounds in a week!!! WHAT!? This girl NEVER loses weight. I have to fight for every ounce for months usually. I'll see if it continues-- not sure if my body is just shocked by the change or what?
I do have to figure out some sort of workout calendar. My plan was to continue the other program I was doing-- combo of weights and cardio-- but the bike is all new and shiny and fun, so I haven't been doing the other one much.... I know I need to as it incorporates more weight training, which I need to continue. Many of the bike classes have an arm section where you use hand weights-- that is HARD-- I'm using 5 pound weights and they feel like 100 pounds after a few minutes!

Hope everyone is well....

Hi All,

I'm back from my Disney World trip. Unfortunately, the insomnia and poor appetite hasn't resolved, but it's a little better. Now, I'm able to go to sleep at a normal time but wake up every 90 minutes, and I've been getting at least 2 normal meals a day for a couple days. The only plus to this is I looked great at Disney, since I lost 5 lbs due to having no appetite from Christmas till now.

I'm feeling like there is a strong anxiety component, so I'm planning to do some meditations. Also, I ABSOLUTELY NEED to stop texting in bed. So many of my buddies go to bed later than me, so there is chatter between 8:30 and 9:30 that has me glued to the blue screen. Not at all healthy. Time to take a stand.

Today, I have a weird and easyish day at work. Instead of my normal school shift, I'm going on an all day field trip to the science museum. Fun!

Waving hello to everyone. Hope to be active here again as I settle back into my routine.

Michele - glad you like the Peleton! Sounds like fun!

Welcome back, Georgette! I hear you on the texting to friends who are up later. I had to set a do not disturb on my phone that starts pretty early, and I download an app called 'off time' before Christmas that I'm trying to configure now.

Good day today so far. Yoga, exercise, some sweeping and mopping the downstairs, swept part of the garage, some headspace, some work, some coffee. I made lunches for the week on Sunday, and I'm pleased with it. I was short on chicken breast, so tossed in turkey sausage, celery, bell pepper, and some cajun spices to make it kind of like a gumbo. Turned out better than I expected.

Keep on keeping on, peeps.

That tires me out just reading it, Dagmar. I only get up super early twoish days a week, and that about kills me.

Shannon, I have thought about putting an app on my phone, but for now I'm using airplane mode. I do worry about emergencies and someone calling. Let me know how you like the app. Sounds like you had a great day yesterday! I was just thinking I should make gumbo tonight.

Shannon, i'm with you on the low sleep. I put my fitbit back on to see how my sleep is going. I'm awake a LOT at night still for whatever reason. I got just under 6 hrs, and I know this was a better night than most lately. No wonder I feel freaky a lot of the time!

I am struggling with meal planning, which is typical for me. My appetite has returned with a vengeance, time to be more structured!

Goergette - I haven't had a lot of luck with the programming yet on the app. I have set priority contacts that can still call through my Do Not Disturb for emergency, though.

Early morning today - it was a 4:15 day normally, and DSS had to be at school early so I was up a little earlier. And, didn't sleep well, as I was worried I was going to oversleep and kept waking up and clock watching. Meh.

Good day so far - yoga, stationary bike, headspace, cleaned the kitchen cabinets/counters/appliances, took the boy to school, and to work. It has felt like a really long week this week for some reason. Last week, I felt GREAT all week. This week I feel draggy. I wish I knew why, for either of those.
