Highly recommend this movie -good for both guys and girls -

Okay - did a cardio tape, now I feel virtuous again . ..

My goal is to do weights tomorrow (after COD)

And Wednesday, I'll be with friends, and there is a dog that needs to be walked around the block a few times. . .

Well my weekend exercise plan went out the window, it was my grandfathers 70th birthday celebration on saturday and I spent the whole day running around. I even did speed shopping because one of my aunts and I had on the same dress so I had to go buy one in 20 minutes time. I wonder if that counts as exercise. Sunday, was a continuation of the celebration, and I spent the whole day at Grandpa's. Today, was good did ellipical trainer 10 minutes, tredmill 20 minutes and weights 20 minutes. Tommorrow is class so I can't go to the gym, but I have plenty of video tapes to keep me happy. The rest of the week is GYM time.

I love that Movie Scent of a Woman, it is one of my favorites.

Speaking of movies, whenever I need an exercise boost, I like to pop in Rocky, he is really motivating.

Default Morning Fit Chicks....

It was (cardio) day at the gym today. 30 minutes elliptical and 15 treadmill. I love cardio days!

Haylo - I love Rocky also, the music makes me want to run downtown and find a building with lots of steps...... The other movie that makes me want to workout is (oh great can't think of the name right now). It's the one with Jennifer Beals, where she works as an iron worker by day and a dancer by night......what is it

Sounds like you had a wonderful celebration for your Grandpa! That is really funny about you and your aunt having on the same dress

Today is my DH's birthday, I got him a card with a gift cert for an hour massage. We have been talking about getting massages, so I just got that since I was stumped as to whatelse to get him. I hope he likes it. I'm also taking him out to dinner tonight.

Default Startin off slow

I just started my diet and exercise last week so I'm starting slow. I actually bought an XBox game called Yourself!Fitness that is like a workout video except it varies the routines each time you do it and slowly increases the intensity. I'm doing it 5 times a week for 15 minutes for now and then when I get a little more into it I will move up to 30 and maybe 45 at some point. The gym is too much so I figured this would be something to try for exercise.

I don't go to a gym, I have a treadmill that I can't seem to get on.. but I do bodyflex and oxycise and even though my weight seems to be stuck at the moment the inches are coming off... I have an older tape of bodyflex that im doing and it takes 18min and the oxycise takes about 15min... I do one or the other and sometimes both.. Now I have freinds out of state that say that it can't possibly be working because all it is deep breathing and stretching.. But I'm going to go with my body and so far ive lost 5inches off my stomach and 3 off of other areas and I don't think thats all from just doing LAWL.. If nothing else I can at least make it up the stairs without being out of breath..

Default Welcome More Fit Chicks..............

Chicks - So glad your here, it's a great place to be.....

First off - Regarding what is enuf exercise? Something is better than nothing, don't let anyone tell you otherwise..

How much you have to do to increase your level of fitness depends on where you are when you start. You have to start somewhere, even if it walking around your house during commercials

The brathing tapes do work, becuz it increases the oxygen to your muscles. I'm not bragging, but I have been working out for 34 years and some of my favorite and most effective tapes are 7 - 15 minutes. It's not how long you work out it is how consistent you are. To see improvement in your body it takes time. If you are lucky you will grow to really enjoy your workouts and then it will become a habit, you'll actually feel bad when you miss a workout.

As for not having time to workout, you have to make time. For me, that is first thing in the morning before work. Which means I have to get up at 4:45 a.m. to be at the gym by 6 a.m. I workout and get ready for work there. By 8 a.m. I feel wonderful and plus my workout is done for the day

This is all JMHO, don't mean to sound like a know-it-all
Oh , the other plus is that if your on a heathy eating plan and workout routine your improved body results are much better than just doing one or the other.

Okay I'm off the soapbox

Well, the elementary school I work at has asked me to be on their volleyball team, I jumped at the opportunity. Unfortunatly, it will be short lived because our first game is against the high school coaches and once you lose you are eliminated I believe, but I figure it will be good exercise for a couple of days
