My GWF should arrive today.

I'm watching the old '80's series Buck Rogers and they often wear a piece of equipment on one upper arm and it looks like a GWF! I am gonna feel so spacey with that thing on.

i got mine today, it's all charged, synced and sitting on my triceps now. LOOOOOOOOOVE it! can't wait to get out of the office and start moving around more. but i am also stoked seeing how the calories burned increase by the minute. that extra display was a good investment.

so can't wait to wear it for one of my C25K training sessions since someone argued today that you only burn about 100 calories a mile. well, since it depends on your weight, intensity, etc. etc. i am pretty sure that i burn about twice that number. we'll see...

I really, truly love it.

Just upped my targets, because they were set too low. It was nice though, to see the message run across the display that I had reached my targets of moderate activity and 5000 steps in the early afternoon of a regular office work day.

I find it super fascinating how/when my body is burning calories. And it is pretty funny that part of my evening "activity" of watching TV was counted as sleeping. I must have been really relaxed while watching Desperate Housewives.

It seems that I wake up less during the night than I thought. Which is great!

Trying to find a nice hiking route up one of my neighborhood hills for the weekend. And burn, burn, burn,...

GWF wearers. I bought my daughter the GWF and I have the BB. We used my wireless display and it downloaded her data so if you can't find the wireless communicator on GWF website you can purchase the BB wireless communicator! IT WORKS!

Hi everyone! A quick question on the subscription -- I just got my GoWear Fit today with 3-months free. Should I sign up for the monthly subscription (which will run for 3 months), then go back in later and get the year's subscription? In other words, can I sign up for the year's subscription after my 3 months free runs out? Or do I have to sign up for it now? Thanks! C.J.

I think you have to give them your info when you register by selecting your choice, but I believe you won't be charged until your free months are up.

Suzie
-who hasn't been charged yet but I've only had it a couple of weeks so far.

You won't be charged till the end of it, but if you think you're going to want the cheaper 1-year subscription, it's a good idea to choose it when you sign up, I accidentally paid for a 1-month plan before I remembered to get them to change it when my 3 months were up.

So when I ride the stationary bike I have been putting it on my calf as people have suggested here but it seems like the amount of calories burned is really high when I do that. Like 441 for an hour of stationary biking on easy at about 15-17 mph with 2min bursts of 20-22 mph like 4-5 times. Does that seem right?

Google an exercise calorie countre and put in your stats and see how it compares to the bb. Everyone burns differently.

Ok, I know this is going to be a stupid question from a GoWear newbie, but....

Just got mine. It's going, I synched the display to the armband, I uploaded the software. But I cannot FIND the softwear on my MacBook Pro. I looked under applications, searched "GoWear" etc. Where is it and what is it called????

Thanks in advance.

That's what I did. I didn't want to be locked into an addition year in case I didn't like it. I LOVE my GWF and a few weeks before my free trial was up, I just called BodyMedia and changed my subscription from the month to month to the one year and it was not a problem. Note that, as of a few weeks ago, you have to call them to change your preference, there is no option to do it on the website.

Wow. It always seems like I have to sleep 10-12 hours to feel rested and now the GWF confirms it. I do not sleep well at all.

Thanks, Willow. I still haven't figured it out, and wouldn't you know that it's a holiday weekend so I can't call them until Tuesday .

I do have the installer software on my desktop, but after I install it, I cannot find where to open the actual screen to download the armband etc. I'm sure it's just something stupid I'm not thinking of, arghghghghgh!!!!

When you download the armband, do you have to have the software open on your screen? Any advice on the basics of how this works would be appreciated.

I can't seem to sync my armband with my display either.

So sorry for the newbie problems, but you know how it is when you get something new ... you want it to work NOW!!!
