Thank you for the interesting post about the price of the BodyBugg going down to approximately the same price as the GoWear Fit. Here is my prediction as an ex-marketing person:

The company has three nearly identical products. They need to target the products to specific audiences or markets and there isn't enough differentiation among them to do that. So, they will 1) Discontinue the Bodybugg and keep the GoWear Fit (better name for men who might want one). This will be targeted to the average consumer looking to get healthier like us. 2) Keep the Sensewear, add a few bells and whistles and market it more toward upper end health professionals for their clients or some other market niche that allows the company to price it higher.

I think the name "BodyBugg" is so tied up in The Biggest Loser at this point that they wouldn't dare discontinue it for quite a long time. The only reason I have mine is that Tom knew about my obsession with TBL and just assumed it would be something that I would like to have because of that! He even looked at the GWF but went with the Bugg because of the show.

I agree on the BB name AND that there will be some consolidation, the differences are small and the maitainance of 3 tracking programs are annoying. My guess is that they will take the feedback of the best of all of them and make a ow end and a high end...

I do wish the message board there was better, but can't have everything

Happy weekend!

I have BB but really like the software for GWF as you can get a lot more information out of it. All I can print out is my food logs and really that's not the info I need to review. I would like to see the calories burned info in a report so I can see trends, etc.

I hope if they consolidate that they use that software. Plus, It'd be neat to see the sleep info. Don't need it but it would be kinda interesting to me at least.

I've only seen the Biggest Loser a few times so I was not aware they used the BodyBugg, so you're probably right. I find this show somehow sad, but I do understand some people find it motivational.

Yes it's been on he biggest loser for a few seasons. The first season it was just sorta a subtle mention but this past season they made a big stinkin' deal about it in one of the first few shows which is when they bodybugg site got slammed with business (about a week after I bought mine)

I think one of the reason they just lowered the prices is because those people who bought them en mass from the mention on this season show are up for renewal this month, so they are trying to keep as many of them as possible.

I have a question for everyone: How did your second week on the body bugg shape up? Did you have that usual 2nd week little loss, or did you find that it corrosponded closely with what your bugg predicted?

Week 2 was pretty much what it was supposed to be for me (I just went back & looked -- November was a long time ago for me to just remember!) ... BUT it was only "Week 2" as far as having the Bugg was concerned. I had been regularly trying to bust my butt before then so I don't think the Second Week "rule" applied. Does that make any sense?

yep, gotcha. Same here I started refocusing before the bug, although I kicked it up a notch with being better about my calories so I don't know if I will see any "dreaded week 2" difference.

Is anyone here using the GoWearFit marketed with the My Victory Plan? The model I have isn't even sold on the BodyMedia website and my subscription service is with Pharmanex, since they are the ones licensed to sell this model. It doesn't even look remotely like any of the ones I have seen on the BodyMedia website. I love the subscription service as I can enter all my food, exercise etc.. all in one place, and the interface is great...but there is literally no community.

My BB is the v2 but I don't know anything about GWFs online stuff. I know BB doesn't have much for message boards, but that's one of the reasons I came back here! (That and to give my facebook friends a LITTLE bit of a break listening to my diet woes! LOL!)

Stupid question:

This thing tracks steps, right? But it's on your arm.

So does it track pretty accurately when I am walking dogs or carry things or my arms are otherwise NOT swinging freely? Or if I do arm raises or something with small weights while I am walking?

Thanks for anyone who has some insight for this! I'm getting a GWF for my birthday!

I've worn my GWF faithfully for 10 days and have tracked all sorts of goodies in an excel file.

By my deficits, I estimated a 3.6 lb weight loss in those 10 days.

My starting weight (with the GWF) was 180 lbs on my scale, and this morning, 10 days later, was 176.4 lbs. That is a 3.6 lb loss.

Kinda freaky huh.

I'm going to keep tracking tracking and tracking some more.

Alright - Congrats!! You will find that these things are so addicting. I had to go without one for a week and it was amazing how much I rely on it.
