I don't know what else it would be - with my camera usb cord, I have no problems at all loading my BB. That is all that I've been using since I've been without a BB cord for most of the six weeks. With both the ones BB sent me, it causes my computer to freeze as soon as I plug it in - with the BB hooked up or not - than I have a keyboard failure and we have to take the computer battery out and reboot. It's a pain in the butt. I know I'm going to be scared using the third cord they send me. I think I might just go get another camera one and use that instead. When you spend this much money on something, you would expect it to work though.

Hello everyone!

I just finished reading these 13 pages and would like to join this thread! I bought a GoWear Fit a bit ago, but had to get it delivered to someone in the States. Still waiting for it to get here.

I can't wait!!

In the meantime, I've really fallen off the wagon... kind of having a free for all till I get my GWF. I am being sort of resonable... like not going super crazy. I'm running alot training for a half marathon so I should be in the maintaining zone till I get the GWF.

Looking forward to chatting with you all!

Hi and welcome to the board, I am new also but I enjoy keeping updated as to whats going on here.

My GWF should arrive tomorrow my wife has one and she has been dropping 2 Lbs a week so far. She started a diet/life style change with out the armband but I feel this has helped her and she likes checking her stats.

Once again Welcome....

Hummm thats crazy that you have gotten 2 cords back to back. You might be on to something just getting another USB cord yourself. I have a mini USB cable for my BlackBerry Curve and also use the same cable for my Garmin GPS. When my GWF arrives I will use the same cable in my office.

Good luck I know its bites when things don't work like they should.

So I have another question.

The display watch... is the band like a regular watch band? I don't mind the display looking all manly... but I'd put it on a nicer band if it's possible.

The watch band is not changeable.
It definitely is not the prettiest I have seen, but not the ugliest either, lol

The watch band can not be changed the straps are formed as one unit. The band is rather rubber feeling which I don't care for.

The display also comes with a clip that you can twist and lock into also. The clip can be attached to your purse or on the armband its self. It also shows it clipped to your pants waste band which looks like a great way for me to lose it doing.

I myself would carry it in a pocket or for a lady a purse. The display is nice but really not needed unless you are often where you cant upload your info and you really need to know where your at for the day. If you want one check amazon.com they have best price I have seen.

I clip mine to my bra The watch faces inward and the clip is on the outside. I don't need to look at it all day anyway and I know it is safe and not going to fall off. and i had to use a sticky dot (craft supplies) because the lock on my clip was a little loose so I unlocked it, put a sticky dot inside and then relocked it...no issues since.

The watch band is yucky (that is the techical term) and attaching to the armband can be really bulky inder cloths and then you can't get to it anyway.

Sorry in advance for the lengthy post, but I could use some advice from those of you who have been successful using your BB/GWF devices.

While I had been steadily losing weight since Christmas, it slowed dramatically in mid-February and I turned to this forum for guidance. After following the BB/GWF posts for more than a month, I decided this additional tool would give me the final piece of the puzzle so I could determine what I was (or wasn't) doing right. I ordered and received my GWF three weeks ago, and wear it nonstop.

While I have always suspected I have a fairly slow metabolism (I am 5'1" with hypothyroidism), the GWF confirmed it. In the first two weeks of wear, and with a solid hour at the gym daily (30 min elliptical/30 min bike), I was only burning around 2200 calories.

This past Monday, I finally started back to the early morning boot camp that I used to workout with and have seen much higher average numbers - in the range of 2600 calories burned per day.

With all of that said, my weight loss has remained at a standstill - despite netting a minimal 1000 calorie deficit each day - for almost 3 weeks. I just don't know what I could be doing wrong.

I use TDP religiously, and eat between 1100 and 1300 calories daily. I try to stick to healthy whole grains/veggies/lean proteins. An average day for me includes 6 small snacks/meals spaced evenly through the day. An Atkins shake for breakfast, Wasa light crackers and Laughing Cow light cheese for AM snack, steel cut oatmeal and 2 egg whites for lunch, Atkins bar for PM snack, 2 add'l egg whites before dinner, and boneless/skinless chicken with broccoli to end my day. Some days I add a cup of light chocolate soymilk to the mix, but I largely stick to this routine (varying the order of meals to some degree, so my body doesn’t get too complacent).

With over a 1000 calorie deficit EVERY DAY, I just don’t understand how I have stayed at the same weight for more than 2 weeks. I feel like my size may be shrinking, but wondered if anyone else experienced these problems despite having the GWF or a similar device telling you exactly what is going on with your daily calorie expenditure.

Any thoughts are welcome...

Hi mkmlaw -
I too have hypothyroidism and have experienced the same issues with a consistent calorie deficit but not losing the weight. My body is kind of strange, I will exercise like a fiend sometimes even having a 1300-1500 calorie deficit for that day and there's no change on the scale. Other times, I'm barely at 500-750 calorie deficit and I drop 3 lbs for the week. I've been tracking everything religously too. I know when I change my workout or increase my strength training or cardio, my body will either start to build some muscle or retain water to repair the muscles and that's why the scale isn't budging. I think there is a problem with my metabolism as my actual weight loss is about 500-600 calories a day lower than the prediction. I asked my doctor about that and she said that my body has hormones in my belly that may be preventing me from losing as much weight as the Sensewear device calculates. Then again, it's just a calculation, but I'm suprised if it's that far off?!? I am very frustrated and may go to my family doctor to check my hormone levels as it's all related.
Jillian Michaels suggests that if you hit a plateau, to break through you need to increase your calories for a few days to keep your body from thinking it's starving which lowers your metabolism. And never go under 1200 calories consumed for women - I'm at 1800 calories consumed with 2550 calories burned target for 750 cal/day deficit.
Just my 2 cents....

Thanks lovelandtx - it is nice to know I am not the only one who has experienced this.

I have been told by my endocrinologist that, due to various hormonal imbalances in my body (I also have PCOS and carry much of my weight in my stomach), it is harder for me to lose weight. In the past, I used that as an excuse to give up when weight loss slowed or stalled, but have remained 100% committed this time around and am enjoying seeing some size/shape changes (even if changes are not readily apparent in the numbers on the scale).

I am also making a concerted effort to eat at least 1200 calories per day. On the days I have boot camp (where my calorie burn goes up to 2600), I will try to add some extra egg whites or veggies to get to 1400 calories. Maybe that will help.

Thanks again!

Wow! I just finished the previous Bodybugg thread. I especially like the tidbit about adding a food called a JAB - Just a Bite. Every bit counts right?

Now for a question. I understand that I can share this device with my hubby (If I so choose .. which I may not), but I'd like to know if I my 11 year old stepson can use it. He's quite a bit bigger than he should be at 155 lbs and 4'9". He might think it's neat to use it for a day to see his activity.

Do you think it would be alright? I mean, would this work on a kid?

yes, it would work for him AND it might a good eye opener to see what he is doing well and what he might change. If I could get my 15 year old to try it, i would
