  • Still love my BB but my wl has slowed form about 2#/wk to about 1#/wk BUT BB predicts it should be about 1.5# (and until now has been *really* accurate).

I just changed my program though so I am going to give it a few weeks as it usually gets right on target (food logged cals vs measurements end up within about 50-100 of one another).
  • I just ordered a GWF and display. I'm so excited!! I can't wait for them to get here!!

    Yippie!!

Any tips or tricks to getting started that might not be covered in the guide? I'm usually moderately technically-savvy, but anything that you think might be useful would be much appreciated...

  • Quote: Alright - Congrats!! You will find that these things are so addicting. I had to go without one for a week and it was amazing how much I rely on it.
Same here. It is so accurate! It's amazing how dependent I am on it as well. It really has been essential to my weight loss. Five stars all around.
  • Man I have really enjoyed reading most of this thread.
I want one of these in a bad way!
  • i love my GWF! We should have our own group :-)
  • I took mine off for about a month, gained back 6lbs and have been faithful for 3 weeks now and have not lost a single pound... a little frustrating but I will stick with it...I WILL :-)
  • Quote: i love my GWF! We should have our own group :-)
Great Idea!!! I do searches every few days to see where people may be discussing theirs.
  • I hope you don't split off, the truth is that we all are on the same plan since the devices are all so similar. it would be a shame to not share with everyone, we can name the new thread accordingly when this one closes.
  • I agree. Essentially, we are all following our data from these devices and shaping our goals around them.

I think a group or a challenge thread or something would be great to keep up to speed and share our methodologies with these incredible devices.
  • I agree that BB and GWF are too similar to have their own threads because we can support/help one another and there is a larger "pool" to draw from if we incorporate both devices.
  • I would hate to see a split! The more support we can all have the better, right? I would like to see more of a group cohesion, though ... maybe some challenges or other ways to keep eachother (and ourselves) accountable? I've started posting the screen caps of my consumed/burned/deficit on my blog, but unless a reader is also a BB/GWF/SW user I just don't think they care or necessarily "get it" ... you know?
  • I have the GWF and would love to participate in some challenge. I like it very much, but my metabolism must be very low because, based on the calories I burn I "should" be losing 2 lbs. a week and I'm not.

So I'd like to somehow adjust the information to calculate what is REAL for me to give a better prediction of weight loss.

Anyhow, a thread where we actually report in would be great for me because I like challenges and accountability.

I would also like to know the sleep patterns of other GWF and BB users. I am apparently not sleeping as much as I thought I was and wonder if this is normal. How many times a night do you all wake up? Thanks! C.J.
  • I totally agree we shouldn't split between SW/GWF/BB. What I had intended in my other post was that it would be great to have our own category (all three combined) so that we could consolidate all the threads on our devices to one area for easy searching. I like the idea of a challenge or accountability thread where we can post our stats and goals.
  • I agree Nello. Then perhaps something along the lines of a challenge thread, in the challenge forum? We could set goals for weekly/monthly deficits, share information about what works, what doesn't. But mainly, for accountability and support. We could report daily burns, intake/outtake and deficits daily etc. We could even combine exercise into our challenge. Like burn so many exercise calories per week etc... Mind you, every ones goals would be different, but I think we have a better take on the numbers when it comes to weight loss.
  • Hi Everyone

It's been going well with the BB on for the last 4 weeks or so. I'm down 15lbs. I know that sounds like a lot but I had a large drop the first week and I have my deficit set fairly high at the moment because I'm trying to drop weight for a Triathlon I have in 10 weeks. Will dial it back after a few more weeks.

So tell me... how are you guys washing the armbands? I'm going to order a spare one and get the "medium" band, so I'll be able to wash one and wear one. I was wondering if baby shampoo would be good enough? If you exercise a lot the band gets a little ummm... funky. Heh.
