So nice to be back on plan. I feel so much better. I used to have a shake in the morning and a bar at noon but now can't use the Quest bars so trying to change things up.
Thanks.
You need 4oz of meat/fish to replace a packet for lunch (or 1 egg+3 whites). Plus you still need your 8oz at dinner.
It's only if you have a packet/bar at lunch plus protein, then you deduct the protein from dinner allowance.

The Quest bars changed formulation, but most Canadian GNC stores still carry the old formula which is OK. Or if you'd like some other bars, I like the Protithin bars from Nashua Nutrition. ( if you're near the border, you should be able to get a US mailing address, save on shipping)

Day 3 of my reboot and things are going well. I am just about over the hump of carb withdrawals, although I am still not in ketosis because I am still fighting off hunger. Hopefully tomorrow as it usually takes me 4-5 days to really get into ketosis.

This morning was kind of rough getting back into the swing of things and my routine, but it also felt good. Hope everyone is doing ok today with their reboots!

THANK YOU. You have made my day . That makes sense. I am actually in Florida for the winter so could order while I am here. Also going to Calagary at the end of the month to babysit grandchildren so will pick up the bars then. Thanks for the info.

Hello, my 2015 IPeeps!

I'll be back at work tonight, after a 2-week break for the holidays. I love my job, but retirement looks better every day....

Yesterday I ran a 4-mile route in town. My usual running route near my house is so hilly, I wanted to find a flat place to run to see what my pace is when I'm not tackling hills. I was surprised to find I'm consistently running 9 min/mile, so hopefully I can do my upcoming 10K in less than an hour. I wondered if my carb-heavy weekend dinners helped my energy level??

DH wanted pancakes for dinner last night, so I made the Biggest Loser recipe that calls for egg whites, rolled oats, and cottage cheese. They're very high in protein and the texture is pretty good. You do have to cook them low and slow, though, or the middle is mushy. Other than the pancakes and an apple for afternoon snack, I ate P1 yesterday. Doing P1 most of the day except for dinner seems to be helping me achieve my goal of dropping a few pounds while having energy for morning runs. Maintenance is certainly a long learning process.

A great start to my day.
My WI schedule has been erratic the last few weeks, last one was Thursday, but back to my regular Tuesday schedule now that the holidays are over.
So I wasn't expecting much loss today, since it's only been 5 days, but DOWN 2 lbs
That makes it over 60 lb lost, and just 7 lb to goal.

My coach was quite pleased, and I think a bit surprised at the loss. When I changed my goal weight from 150 to 135, while she wasn't really discouraging, she did give me the impression that I might find it challenging, and that I shouldn't be discouraged if I couldn't get there, and to feel Ok about stopping sooner. But I knew 135 would be a much healthier weight for me.
And truth be told, in my own mind, I know that if I hit a bad stall before I get there, I probably will stop. But I'm still losing at the same pace (OK, a wee bit faster this week ), and hopefully that will continue, so I'm good to keep going.

There are days when I still can't believe my progress, and the changes. 60 lb, OMG! I would never have imagined I could do that. I've lost 10 inches off my hips, from size 20W to 8/10. I think I will end up solidly in size 8. My BF% has gone from 36 to 27. I have collarbones and hipbones. There is a a definite gap between my thighs . My joints don't hurt as much. And I'm not tired all the time.

My day is off to a great start. Hope yours is the same!

Jenny, hoping you hit ketosis sooner than later. The keto flu is no fun!
asmuir, welcome back!
HIS I am jealous of your ability to run. I really like running. My body does not like me running. My hips pop out very easily when I run. Maybe that will change as more weight comes off.
Blue, congrats on the big loss!
Linda how are the phase off plans going?
Beth where are you??? We miss hearing from you!

WI for me this morning as well. 3.4 lbs this week. TOM decided to show up during the night, so not expecting a big loss next week. I could be surprised though, it's happened before.

Have a great day everyone!

Way to go Blue! I am the same height as you and roughly have the same goal. The first time on IP I phased off at 135, got to 133 during P2 & 3 and then maintained in the high 130's. This was a very good weight for my height and figure.

It is amazing what even a few pounds show in changes in your body, let alone 60! I know even with the 15# I have lost to date, the changes in my body are astounding.

You might be surprised that you will fit in a 6 or smaller. I am in the high 140's right now and I can fit mostly into 4's, some 6's (pants) and the occasional 2. When I was in the low 130's, I was predominately in 2's and XS. I have a fairly typical hourglass figure, with a slightly larger hip circumference than my bust.

Happy Tuesday..

Finally broke into the 210's (unofficially today). Less than 20 # to go to onederland. A couple people (that know I am on IP) told me that they can see the changes that are going on in my body.

Also, overslept today (which would not have been bad if I could have worked in my home town, but surveyors showed up at my site an hour to the north so I got dressed packed my food (wished I had done it the night before) and started my 1 hour drive. I managed to get 24 oz of water and a 16 oz shake in on the drive. The bad part no walking dog this morning. I seem to be sleeping better with just 2 cal-mag a day (I keep seeing posts that the cal-mag keeps you up) - not sure I buy that but I have slept longer the second dose.

Today will be be at my pre fitbit step count about 6000. I think it might be a good "rest" day so I am not pushing it.

Coming up on my 8 week weigh-in on Thursday. It will be nice to get the official results after 3 weeks.

Jenny - hoping you reach ketosis soon.

Mama - congrats on the loss. You might be surprised next week if you stay OP.

Blue - congrats on your loss, you are getting so close. I hope you continue at your current pace.

HIS- pancakes for dinner sounds good. It seems that everyone needs to learn what works for them in P4. I think that is what makes it so scary for those of us on P1. I guess, each of us will have to write the protocol that works best for us. Thanks for sharing your journey.

asmuir - welcome back

Destony - how is P2 going?

That's wonderful news!!! COngratulations. When I changed my goal, I said the same thing- if my body is meant to do it it will, and if not-I'll slow down and know it's time to phase off...Let me say this- (and this is my personality) when I hit that .2, .4 phase for a couple of weeks, I said no way, I'm going to fight through this I am going to get to where I want if it kills me. I spit those words in to the wind...It's a very strange feeling, because when I originally said it, I truly believed that would be how I would handle it. Good luck!!!

Yay- cheering you on to onederland!!! What a feeling when people start to notice!! I haven't had a problem with the cal-mag keeping me awake and there have been a handful of times that I have taken all 4 at once, and gone to bed. Sorry to hear about the stressful morning.

Okay, my experience with P2...so far, (and I'm being told it's just adjustment) I don't love it, though there are bits I do. So...a like is that I am never hungry anymore...dislike experiencing a bit of the "big C' - tonight will be some calm before bed because this is very frustrating. From Saturday, my home weigh in was 127-this morning I am up to 129.2-a daily steady progression up. Yesterday I did no exercising- to take the muscle water retention out of the mix...(Monday night I came home and added 1/2 hour on the ellitical-which I haven't touched since I started the diet last February) So, to say I am frustrated, scared, full of mixed emotions- that's an understatement. It's only adding some meat to lunch (of which I had already added 2 oz to about a month ago anyways) and taking away 1 packet. Tonight, I'll try the calm and see what tomorrow brings. If this is going to be how it is, - I'm never leaving P1. (I know that's not a realistic statement-but, I'm really starting to get scared)

blue, I'm so excited for you! Gosh, by this time next month, you'll probably be in P2.

mama, aren't those wooshes wonderful?!

smda, I never had a problem with the cal/mag and sleep, that I know of. I really needed the mag to help regulate my bowels, so I never missed a dose. I did have periods of needing less sleep, but I figured that was because of my blood sugar being more stable.

Linda, I wish I knew the right things to say about the scale in P2 and beyond, but I'm still figuring it out myself. Are your clothes still fitting okay? Honestly, I didn't like P2, either.

asmuir and Largo, welcome back! Here's to 2016 being a great one for rebooting!

We finally got some wedding pictures, so I'm posting one here. Note: we're all tall. I'm 5'10", my DIL is 6'1", and my son is 6'9". My poor husband has shrunk down to about 5'8", from 6'. This was at my lowest weight of 153.

In addition to cakes and cookies, I think there's another food that I just can't have around - peanut butter. It's a daily struggle to not want to eat spoonfuls of the stuff. I don't know if it's the fat content or what, but it has been my #1 craving for two weeks now. I have powdered PB, but it's not the same.

Cold and wet here in north Texas today. I need to find a couple of different running routes; my regular one is getting boring but it's the least hilly option. I guess I just have to bite the bullet and run those stupid hills and be glad for them.

Linda: Phase 2 can be scary, but I can't imagine you'll keep gaining...and if you do, there is always Phase 1. Phase 3 was a lot scarier for me but if I had kept doing that, I wouldn't have gained so much and have to reboot.
Jenny How is your hunger? I never got over bouts of hunger from last January to August when I phased off. I recognize my hunger is more than a physical sensation. For me, it's psychological so ketosis wasn't enough to rid me of it.
asmuirI just started my reboot on Monday too!!! Yay!
mama Congrats on your loss.
blue great loss and weigh-in!!!
HISThose pancakes sound good. Maintenance is such a learning experience (if you pay attention to what you've learned!)

Hi Everyone, I am on my third day of reboot. I am hungry. I have a headache. I've been drinking water and doing salt licks. I am sooo happy to be back on IP. Wishing everyone well.

Good Morning IPeeps!

HIS great picture! You look amazing!
Linda I think you are correct. It's just an adjustment. If you have the big C, that's bound to have an impact on the scale. We know the program works! Your progress is amazing!

Hoping all the newbies hit ketosis soon! It was typically day 4 for me, though I know everyone is different.

Did a lot of walking yesterday. I'm trying increase my daily goal and make a point of getting up to walk. I spend a lot of time at my desk at work. Yesterday I went to the fitness room and walked on the treadmill while I watched Netflix. Then I did some more on the treadmill at home (watching Netflix). That seemed to help. I know I'd just be sitting on the couch watching Netflix anyway, why not do it while walking on the treadmill??

I'm a daily weigher and the scale was down a little more this morning. If the weight holds, I'll officially meeting the 50lb mark!

Have a great day everyone!

My hunger is getting better as I think I am just about in ketosis. No more headaches, no more cravings, but still not 100% in (not to be gross, but urine has a distinct ketosis odor and I am not there yet).

I was battling hunger for the first few days, but I also think that was because I was "coming off" of eating junk and just randomly grabbing a cookie or pastry whenever I was in the kitchen. So not only was I off on WHAT I was eating, but my schedule of WHEN I was eating was off too. And that definitely takes some time to adjust to that.

Anyway, I do feel good that I have made it through 4 full days and doing good on my 5th. I can honestly say that I am feeling so much better and feeling much less bloated! The carbs have pretty much worked their way out and I can feel the difference in my pants

Just a quick check in

HIS - nope, I haven't dived head-first into the cookies, candies, or bad-things

It's the nature of my job - W-2's have to get out the door and we have about 1,500 federal, state, and local filings to be reconciled / done over the next 3.5 weeks
This was why I started getting up and running at 5:00am - so far, no excuses - and I am able to get to work by 8:30 and put in a full, heavy 8 hours. We are in a holding pattern right now, waiting for a couple adjustments so I have 5 minutes to breathe

Linda - Congratulations on GOAL!!!! and P2 Hope you are feeling better today and the Calm helped

Blue - you are getting so close!

Glad to see some old names posting again - welcome back! Newbies! and seeing lots of positive posts. That is terrific coming out of Christmas and New Years

Survived the holidays. Went crazy New Years Eve (no alcohol though) but did a P1 day, cut back on the carbs for about 2 more days, and...

146.0 yesterday & today

Still hoping with the holiday eating in the rear view I may be able to drop 5 more...but how sustainable that will be is another question. My body obviously REALLY likes the mid-140's

Running - we did a 5K Sunday and I ran a PR mile (9:10) and total time was 29:55! I finished 13th out of 34 (age group) and 64th of 213 (female). Not too shabby for a race run by a marathon club
The hills I am doing during my training runs are really helping my flat times.
& yes, I went out this morning, in 10 degrees, and ran 5 miles I love cold weather running...not sure how I am going to handle the summer...run naked?
