Linda - On the P2 - P4 FB group, Kathleen just posted this: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...type=3&theater
and someone posted a list of breakfasts from their coach / clinic - there are also a bunch of ideas in the files in the group.
To keep it simple, I stuck to 2 breakfasts through P3 - OIAJ for work & eggs, toast, nut butter, yogurt, & 1/2c berries (variations to yogurt flavor & berry type being the biggest changes) - and I believe both are in the P3 or Maintenance threads Really, once you find what you like, it gets much easier, promise.
Wait until P4 starts on 1/31

UGH!!!!!!!! My gym at work decided at the last minute to close today!!!!!!!!!! Got here at 6:30 & there was a "Sorry, but with the building being closed, we are too...apologizes for the inconvenience"
If an email had been sent last week, I could have planned to go to the local Rec Center this morning instead

Ya think this got my day off to a cr@ppy start

Sorry - just needed to vent.

& actually there is a huge silver lining - I was able to get a really good start on what needs to be done this week so I am going to leave early and pay the $7...or I may pay $30 and cover the next 30 days with the weather changes / snow...and hit the treadmill

Linda those breakfasts look pretty good.
Even though I'm not on P2 yet till this wk/end, I think I'm going to plan out some P3 breakfasts, it sounds like it's a bit of a stumbling block for a lot of people. I've saved a lot of info from various threads, have to look through them and get organized.

I'm wondering what the macros should be for P2 and P3?? Since I started using MFP I'm more conscious of macros

My scale was kind to me today, down a bit again to 137.8, so maybe it was the broccoli. Had pureed broccoli soup for lunch today tho, so we'll see tomorrow
I have to skip my WI this week, so next one will be a week from tomorrow and I'll have started P2 by then

Well I got through the weekend with guests and it really was not that bad. The planning certainly helped. The only problem was that each day I put on a bit of weight. Maybe just my body adjusting to the 9 pounds I lost in the first few weeks or may be the bladder infection I developed yesterday. Either one it would have been nice to have had a loss as a result of being so committed but who said life was fair.
Onward and upward.

I was SORE from my 9 miles this morning...took a while to work out the kinks - lots of time on the roller...and an hour walking around the mall helped a little. I was also starving today - and have noticed after the last 3 hour+ runs I've ate quite a bit on Sunday (but not gone over my BMR - just gotten really close to the top-end)...congrats (ovarian fortitude! love that! lol) to you if you P1'd today!
To carb up on Friday and avoid too much fiber, my day was:
Breakfast: Quest bar & coffee
Lunch: homemade turkey and rice and vegetable soup w/ a few whole wheat crackers
Snack: Skinny Pop popcorn
Dinner: pressure cooked chicken breast, mac & cheese made w/ low fat milk, 2 small corn muffins
Snack: 0% fat yogurt

When I posted that I was going to do P1 on Sunday, I forgot that we had a potluck lunch after church. I really messed up yesterday, which affected today...
On Sunday, I had a shake for breakfast, then ate fairly freely at the lunch, including sampling several desserts. My calories were pretty high at that point, and I was stuffed, so I did an easy 3-mile walk when I got home, and I just had a bar for dinner and yogurt before bed. My net calories were within the safe range, so I thought I'd done well.

BUT - I failed to remember I had a 4 mile run scheduled for this morning. When I got up, I was SO hungry, it was making me sick to my stomach. I couldn't run like that, so I ate a banana. Then a protein bar. Then peanut butter. Then yogurt. I spent the whole morning nibbling on one thing after another, trying to quell that sick, hungry feeling. I finally went out to run around noon, and I had a decent run, but I feel like I've been ravenously hungry all day. Lesson learned - eat a good meal the night before a morning run!

I kind of mapped out my training for the next month, trying to figure out how many miles I should be running each week. Since my planned half marathon isn't until May 1, I have a long time to slowly increase my mileage. I think I'm going to run another 10K in March. My goal for the 5K on January 31 is to do it in 28 minutes. I think all the stars will have to align for me to run sub-9 minute miles for the whole race, so 28 minutes is realistic and if I go faster, BONUS!

Weight is back up around 157 and staying there.... of course, Saturday's pancakes and Sunday's potluck lunch probably didn't help. I'm still hoping to trend downward closer to 150, but I'm really starting to wonder if that will be sustainable. I guess I'll see, as my mileage increases more dramatically in February.

mama, hoping you have a great WI tomorrow!

And re: menopause. My OB/GYN said the average age is 52 worldwide, and that it tends to be later in the USA, where we have better health than women in 3rd world countries. I had my ovaries removed at 51 (endometriosis and adhesions). Six years later, STILL having hot flashes. I opted for no hormone treatment, I'm just toughing it out.

Largo - Congrats on being strong with company.

Blue - how exciting to be moving to P2, hoping you have a good journey on P2 along with a great vacation.

Beth - Sorry your day started out rough. Glad to see you could make "lemonaide" out of lemons. Could you share your mug cake recipe? I have used the chocolate chip pancake with baking powder, vanilla and water to make a "mug cookie" Yum.

Destony - Congrats on P3. Maybe PM me your ebay name and I can check out what you have posted.

Mama - Glad your feeling better.

Cold day here, but trip to work was good. Did not get out of house as early I would like, I need to do better at prepping the night before.

I walked the basement in the hospital today to get most of my steps and went on the elipitcal at home (no resistance) when I got home. Did good drinking water today, but was hungry some of the day. (I wonder if it was because I did not have a 4th packet yesterday or because I ate 4 oz of protein for breakfast and then 4 oz for evening meal. I just finished a 4th pkt drink mix after reaching 15000 steps for day.

I want to let all of you know how lucky I feel to have found this group. I appreciate the fact that you have all been where I have been and that you are all moving toward your goal or have reached your goal. You continue to teach me that while the day might have a setback that I just need to stick to it and I will be successful. The last time I felt like this was in 2000 - 2001.

I told the cruise line that I was lactose intolerant and needed a gluten free diet last night. I also told them that I had food allergies. I will need to meet with the head waiter each night to discuss my evening dinner choice for the next day. I hope this will help avoid the "weak moments".

Beth, hoping your day is off to a better start today!

Largo, nice job on the dinner. Hopefully your infection clears up quickly.

Blue, your so close to goal! That's so exciting!

HIS I'm envious of your ability to run. I went walking on the treadmill at work yesterday and found myself wanting to break out running. I didn't realize how much I missed it until yesterday. I have a ways to go before I reach goal. At what point did you start running? How far way from goal were you?

Smda Good for you planning ahead for your cruise! Setting boundaries beforehand should keep you on track!

WI this morning went well! Another 2.8lbs gone and officially in a new decade! Only 4 more pounds until my next goal!

Good morning everyone!
Company is finally leaving today, so I am back on strict P1. We ate out, A LOT, and I was basically eating P2 style. I made good choices, but I really don't like eating out that much.

Sodium is playing a huge factor and the scale is up 2#. I am pretty much drowning myself in water today trying to flush it out I could even tell this morning when I went to the gym because my sweat was so salty tasting! Hopefully it will help and the scale will move in the downward direction and maybe the week won't be a total loss.

It sounds like everyone is doing great. Lots of activity, lots of breakfast ideas for later phases and lots of losses.

mama, as I recall, i was about 20 pounds away from goal. And I started with Couch to 5K, which starts you off with run/walk intervals. The running intervals in the first few weeks are pretty brief, so I felt it was safe to do while still on P1. Hey, kudos for getting into a new decade!

Oooweee, the scale jumped up a lot this morning. I grazed my way through the day yesterday, chasing hunger all day long. Today HAS to be a P1 day.

maybe..... cannot recall full screen name.... shared this link for calculating macro needs along with calories - pretty interesting, geared to a keto diet style, and it might help you figure what goals for macros you want to use in MFP.

Largo, hope you feel better.
Cheryl, uh oh. Seeing you on here reminds me I have to update my challenge form.
HIS, how did your Phase 1 day go? I never did that during maintenance...maybe that's why I failed and now need to totally reboot.
jenny, you made it! I totally hate eating out while on IP. I will do it and I survive just fine, but I like the security of my food at home.
mama Congrats on a good WI!

OK, I don't have much time but I just wanted to touch base. I am doing fine. I brought a bag of vitamins for the week to work, because I am always forgetting those things!!! Two weeks on IP and my tummy is way down from the bloat of the holidays. Thank goodness. My coworker who started is on day 7 today...she weighs in though on Thursday. I can't wait to see her progress. I am more excited for her than for me.

mama congratulations on reaching a new decade

oneuh thanks for the link, I had a look, but the numbers it gave me looked strange. Probably me
Any way, for P2, I thought I could just could I just add the extra protein g and the extra calories to MFP, same for P3 with the extras that breakfast adds...but it looks like I can only set %, not grams or calories, unless I upgrade to premium. So those of you who have finished P3 and P3, did you change MFP?

Well, I wasn't scheduled to weigh in today, my schedule and my coach's schedule haven't synched this week, but I got back home just before noon, and she had some cancellations, so she called to let me know, so I slipped over for a WI, fortunately she's only about 5 min away...and yes!! down another 0.8
Probably would have been more, since I usually go before I eat and I had already had a shake and water and coffee...So my next WI will be Thursday next week, and I'll be starting my P2 phase off this weekend, so it'll be interesting to see what the scale does

I think I said some time ago that I would rather run sprints than go back on P1.

I wish to retract that statement.
Good golly, I hate sprints. I'm trying to have a good attitude about them and am not succeeding. Of course, I'm also doing P1 today. Bad combo. Lol.

Good Morning everyone!

Blue, congrats on the loss!

MiWi, I keep a pill box at work right in front of my monitor so I take my vitamins after I've had my morning shake. I forget more on the weekends to take my vitamins.

Went home with a monster headache yesterday. Salt and water didn't help, another shake didn't help and Aleve didn't help. Took a long soak in the tub and relaxed and felt much better afterwards. I've been out of my allergy medicine so I'm pretty sure that's the issue. Time to suck it up and buy more!

Today is technically my Thursday! DD has a gymnastics meet on Friday and it's a 3 hour drive there. It's her first meet this season. She fell during practice earlier this season and got a concussion. She's was unable to practice or compete for two months and missed a lot of school as well. Never did I think my gymnast would have a concussion. My hockey player...expected.

Bha-ha-ha!

I am with you! We run a lot of sprints at my gym and I always say that I would rather go out for a nice 5 mile run than run a 100m sprint any day!

BUT...
They will do wonders for your average time and the other benefit is they TORCH fat. Gotta love that.

blue, ooo, it's a very exciting time for you! Hope the scale give you a big minus next week.

miwi, I have a hard time remembering morning vitamins, too. I have to take a Rx first thing in the morning and nothing else for an hour, so by the time I can have breakfast, I've forgotten about vitamins. You were smart to take some to work.

mama, I never would have dreamed that allergies would be a problem in your area in the winter. I guess I always think of them as spring/fall problems. Guess it depends on what you're allergic to, though. My husband has allergies to most trees and grasses. I always say he needs to live on a 100 acre concrete pad in the middle of a desert.

No running for me today, although I'll probably do some walking if the weather cooperates. I need to do my strength training - something I added to my routine this month. I only do it once a week, and not much, just some weight lifting for my arms, and I try to do planks.

I ought to do P1 today again, but I will probably have a real breakfast of egg and cheese on a sandwich thin, and then do a P1 lunch and snacks. Still experimenting with breakfasts and how they affect me the rest of the day. You'd think I'd have it figured out by now.

How are all you east coast peeps?

(Edited because Jenny was posting at the same time as me...) Jenny, yeah, I try to remind myself of those benefits. Usually when I'm done - because in the middle of doing them. all I want to do is lie down on the side of the road and think about cake. You're right, those long runs are lot more fun than sprints. :/
