I have lost 30bs and will be the first to say that I don't think it's that noticable visually on me. I carry most of my weight in my torso and am actually still wearing all of the same tops/bottoms as I did before I started - they were too tight then and are too loose now but still the same clothes. I think that makes it harder for others to see. All the more motivation for me to keep on track!
I carry all my weight in my stomach. I look like I'm pregnant, my legs are very thin. UGH. Hopefully at some point the belly will go away.
How did everyone do over the holiday weekend. It was somewhat challenging for
me but, I made it through. We had a lot of fruit in the house and it was super hard telling myself fruit is cheating. I understand bread and pasta but, fruit looks so darn refreshing. Anyway, I passed the fruit.
HERE'S MY RANT. Gotta get it out
since I consider myself a newbie because I had to restart I am somewhat frustrated with the fact that not a single sole has noticed any sort of change in me. This diet is such a struggle and is so restrictive that I guess in my head I feel like some sort of recognition of my dedication and my loss should be noticed by someone. Is this weird of me to think, I don't know. It's interesting to me that when I gain weight I feel so incredibly awful, ugly, disappointed in myself. I always have this thought that everyone is thinking the same about me. Now, I am completely dedicated to this and losing a not a word from anyone. Except that what I am doing isn't healthy. Yesterday I thought well I must be just losing in my fingers or toes and that's why nobody is noticing. LOl. I thought for sure that maybe my BF would have noticed by now but, NO. I don't see him everyday because he lives a 150 miles away. I finally asked him " can you see any change in me"? He said well maybe I should see you naked. Oh yeah, of course he would say that. Anyway, apparently he didn't because he didn't say a word. Guess I'm a little frustrated.
Hi all,
I'm on day 1 of a restart, so I guess I am sort of a newbie too! I like all the positive vibes on this thread, so hope you don't mind if I join in the discussion. Jemma51, I relate to a lot of your experience - this happened for me the first time around - people didn't start noticing anything until I had lost about 25 pounds or so and I was discouraged. I had a lot of the same internal disappointment in myself about being overweight that you shared and I think I really craved that external validation from others that I was not indeed as awful and ugly as I thought. Honestly, it took me beginning to feel more confident and happy with myself before others noticed a difference. Maybe I carried myself differently? I also think once I began wearing smaller sized clothes and styles that were not so loose-fitting, it became more obvious that I was shrinking.
Anyway, you are doing awesome and I hope you keep up the wonderful work! I agree with other posters that you are doing this for you and can congratulate yourself daily for making such good choices for your health!
Jenna - I am at 65 pounds. People are just starting to comment!

Careful with the gum and candy, even sugar free it has carbs. Spry gum is approved. If your losses slow down that could be the cause.

If my boobs hadn't shrunk so much they'd finally stick out further than my belly but they seem to be losing at the same rate!
Hello fellow IP'ers. I recently returned from our Disney Cruise and am proud to say I stayed OP and lost 3.8 pounds! Wahoo! I vacuum sealed individual packets of my protein shake so they packed easily, and brought along Quest bars so they did not melt in the Caribbean sun. Dinner was sometimes challenging to get sufficient protein, especially with dinner salads, but I used the tips I read here for ordering "naked" meat and veggies, and claimed to have an allergy to "fat" and it worked!

That is fantastic. I was on a cruise in May and I honestly don't think I could have stayed OP. You did a great job and should be very happy with yourself.
I don't know if I have the bad breath thing but, when I had my nails done yesterday I thought about that post. I quickly got out a piece of gum. Lol Does everyone get that?
Hi All,
I'm new but I know I need to be here to get through the 50 pounds of fat I need to lose. For years, I kept saying I never lost the pregnancy weight gain from my 4th child (I always did easily before him). Well, he's FIFTEEN now! And I've gained 20 more beyond the 30 I gained with him. So--no more excuses!
I had a terrible headache and stomach upsets for the first 3 days. Yesterday and today I feel really good.
I heard about IP at my doctor's office, and went to a lunchtime meeting about it. The presenter was like a corporate sales rep and after 1.5 hours, I still didn't know what exactly the program was about. The nurse practitioner at the office called me afterwards and apologized, said she had other staff in the meeting and could see it wasn't going anywhere. She sent me some info and told me to call her. I've emailed back, called and left a message, and meanwhile came here.
I found out everything I needed to know, and other than the weekly "official" weigh-in, think I'll be fine doing this with alternatives. I've lost 5 pounds so far, but I've been losing and gaining 10 pounds for 4 years now. I'll be happy when I've lost 15 pounds - then I'll know it's real!
Thanks for everything so far and hope I can be supportive. I'll be doing my own official weigh-ins on Sundays, and will post here to hold myself accountable.
Hey guys!! I'm still around and going strong! It took me 2 weeks, but I am finally back to my pre-vacation weight! Totally not worth it and something I don't intend to do again. I have changed my WOE to strictly LCHF so that is why I have not been posting here in the IP threads. For me personally, I just feel better. It's so similar, just upping the fat percentage and calories a little bit. Still very low in carbs and very moderate in protein.
I'm still planning on popping in and checking in on you guys, just will not be posting in the IP forums. But I'm so happy at how fantastic you all are doing! Whoohoo you guys are incredible and are rocking it!!

I always say that I haven't lost my baby weight yet either -- and we adopted! LOL

Thanks for popping in Linda -- I was wondering where you were and what was up. I don't know what a WOE or LCHF are, but I'm glad you've found something that is working for you. We're all on a journey to get healthier and moral support is important so we'll be glad to see you popping in to let us know how you are doing.
AZLINDA,
Glad you found something that is working for you. I will personally miss you upbeat and positive attitude around here.
There was some talk about new sheets coming out a couple weeks ago. I wonder why none of the people with coaches have posted any changes. I wonder what the changes are. IP seems to be working for everyone so, unless something wasn't working IDK.

Welcome,
You will have lot's of support and info on these forums. Do you have a coach or why are you weighing at home. I do not due to the cost and doing IP with alternatives.

"A LCHF diet means you eat less carbohydrates and a higher proportion of fat". WOE - way of eating?
