Long weekend of work starts today...Will check back in on Monday...
Have a GREAT weekend all, stay OP, and whatever you do "drink that water"!
Cheers
Jake
Hang in there this weekend! I am finishing a long week of work, even with Monday off, still has been a super crazy week.
Drink the water, so true. I've been in Maintenance for a couple of weeks now, loving it. I stepped on the scale a few times and am fluctuating about 1 1/2 lbs above goal and 1 1/2 lbs below goal, so I'm happy.
I second you on the water advice. I forgot my water bottle at home the other day and really hardly drank any water during the day. Man was I thirsty when I got home. LOL
It’s a beautiful day here in Austin and The Circuit of Americas F1 weekend started this morning and my office is only 3 miles away. I can hear the cars buzzing around the track like they were in the driveway. If it’s this loud 3 miles away I can’t imagine what it’s like in Elroy. It’s deffinatly a different tone than NASCAR that’s for sure.
Every since I started IP I have kind of been a recluse and stayed away from social activities or situations. I think a lot of that was so I didn’t have to answer questions about what I was doing to lose weight. Last night I ventured out to a meeting with a group of about 60 people only because I am a Past Potentate of the Shriners here in Austin and was being awarded my 25 yr pin. I showed up and no one recognized me. I actually had to show my dues card and DL. The guy at the door had a 2 year old picture of me because he was supposed to recognize me and escort me to the front of the room when I arrived. Then after I was introduced the questions started about the weight loss and if I had been sick. That just ticked me off. Like I had to get sick to lose weight. On the bright side believe it or not the person the most interested was my MD for 20yrs.( who I haven’t seen since pre IP) He told me he was proud of what I had done. He said he had done some research on IP because he had heard I was on it but had never talked to anyone who had been through the program and had a loss like mine before. He even got the name of my coach and clinic from me before we left so he knew where to refer patients.

Everyone have a great Weekend
Dude! Thatis freaking awesome. I had a few people tell me today I looked great. It makes me feel good but part of me smiles and thinks man I really looked like $hit before!
Made in back down to 260 after my week vacation. Going to tough it out through Xmas dinners for 6 more weeks then heading on a diet less cruise for 10 days. Then I'm back on IP till my goal! Was surprised how easy it was to get back on diet after trip, but to be honest all the carbs and junk I ate weren't as good as I remember them. Also found I was full much quicker as well
A few NSVs. I ran up three sets of stairs in an office building Thursday and was not out of breath. I carried up three heavy loads or firewood last night and realized I was not out of breath. Each trip used to require me to sit down for several min to catch my breath. No more!
Earlier this year I participated in the 39 mile Avon Walk for Breast Cancer in honor of my mother who was taken from us on Valentines Day this year. The thought of her pushed me through every step. It still amazes me that I was able to do this at 280lbs. I have just signed up for next years event and I expect to be doing it 100lbs lighter by then.
In order to participate I need to raise $1800. If any of you have even just $5 to contribute to aid in battling this horrific disease, a link to my donation page is in my signature.
Mods, if making this request is against forum policy I understand if this post if removed.
Thank you.

I think it is nice when people ask how I lost the weight, but to ask if you were sick, that's a little rude. Cool about the MD. Way to go man.

I can relate to this USMCVET. But then I go look at my before and after photo, the one with the two shots side by side and I can answer that question for my self. LOL
Well, I had my first 'treat' day yesterday and am doing strict Phase 1 today. Boy, my stomach was not happy to have me put that stuff in there yesterday. Feeling bloated and weird. Hopefully this Phase 1 day puts me back to feeling great.

I know sometimes I think " Really I looked that bad and none of my "friends" had the guts to tell me". The next question is " What's the secret?" I often think to myself Do I really want to help you after that?
My mom and one of my brothers have been my biggest supporters. My other 2 brothers never say anything to me about my weight loss, one of them told my mom he thought I was going to pop cuz i was so big....i wasn't told this til a few months ago...oh well, I am a new me now...who cares?....lol
Wuv- From a guys perspective if they don't say anything about the loss it could be because they aren't sure how to approach it...plus they might be worried that if things reverse you would feel they think less of you (if that makes sense). It sure helps to have supporters but at least they aren't detractors like your ex-BF was.

I agree with you tightwad. And WUV, I shy away from complimenting people on weight loss because I don't want them to think "Well if he thinks I look good now, what on earth did he think before"
I am new to IP. I met with the doctor last Thursday afternoon and officially started IP Friday morning. I wanted to get started now, before the holidays. I am hoping this will allow me to focus on the weight loss and not the food during this time of year.
I have seen some references to "WF" in regards to food on this forum. Can you tell me what it stands for? Any suggestions for the noobie? My coach is going out of town this week so she had me come in on Monday (yesterday) to weigh in. She was disappointed that I had only lost 3 pounds, but I reminded her I had only been on the protocol for 3 days.
I have been walking on the treadmill while carrying 10 pound dumbbells. I can feel the difference from not carrying them at all and I hope this will help.
Good luck to all on the forum for taking the best step!
WF is Walden Farms dressings, they are calorie, fat, carb and gluten free. You can order them online. I have tried 2, creamy bacon, and blue cheese. Not really a fan of either so I plan on making my own IP compliant caesar dressing from a recipe I found here. If you're interested:
IP Caesar Dressing
1 garlic clove, grated
1 squeeze of anchovy paste the size of the garlic clove (find a brand with no carbs/sugars)
1 Tbs lemon juice
2 Tbs EVOO
1 dash Worcestershire sauce

Glad to have you join us. Don’t worry about the 3# it normally takes 3-4 days just to get into ketosis. You didn’t put it on overnight your sure not going to lose it overnight.
Panama City is a great place. Spent almost every summer of my life between there and Destin. I have a lot of kinfolk in that town.
WF refers to Walden Farms. They make 0,0,0 products like salad dressings and stuff.
