Then go to the Valentine's Day challenge and see what real people are really losing. It might help and I'm so glad you've been reading a lot. It sure helps.

Thank you Linden. I did look at the sheet and am quite shocked to see that nobody is really loosing in the huge range that is advertised, except the first week. Deceptive advertising REALLY pisses me off. It's also a great reality check for me to no get so frustrated. My weigh-in is today and I'm up .5 from yesterday. I've been doing my personal weigh-ins on Sunday because I'm always up .5 Monday morning, then down 1 on Tuesday. It's so weird!! By the time I get to the center later in the day on Mondays it's up another 2-3 and because the weather is all over the place here the clothing factor come in to play. Last week a dress, leggings and heavy socks, this week a light skirt and short sleeve blouse. I just have to keep focused.

I'm so thankful I found you guys! I may have quit out of frustration by now!

Hello -

I am new to IP - just 2 weeks but in those 2 weeks, Ive lost 11 pounds! I cannot tell you how exciting this is for me because for the past 8 years, I have tried EVERYTHING - and I do mean EVERYTHING - including MIC shots, etc...

Nothing worked. I lost tops a 1/2 pound every month or so and I have had the strictest diet ever.

I became overweight after moving into what was, I thought - our dream home in 2004. Within 6 months, we ( all of us, my husband and 2 children) began a slow slide into poor health. Random, odd symptoms but we kept getting sicker and both my son and I gained over 100 pounds each, even though as a family - we ate a whole foods diet and I myself - was a vegan!

5 months ago, we discovered why. The insulation in our home had gotten wet during construction and our house was LOADED with lethal, toxic black mold behind the insulation in the walls. This caused massive weight gain, multiple organ system failure, thyroid dis-regulation and immune related illness. Our dog died, our 2 cats died from mold illness.

We left our house and every single thing in it and havent gone back since we discovered this and have begun the slow process of recovery.

Im so excited that this program works because not only do I have to lose 80 more pounds, The mold toxins ( mycotoxins ) live in fat cells - so the more fat you have, the sicker you are. We are attempting to starve them out!!

Thank you for this forum ! Ive already learned sooo much and have hope for the first time in a very long time!

Blessings to you all

Kim

Hi all,

I figured I should make an intro. I am 32, live in Colorado, am a step mom to a 15yo and 11yo, and been married a little over a year. I am just getting started on the Ideal Protein Diet, and struggling a bit as its only day 7, but trying to hang in there. I ultimately have about 45-50lbs to lose, but am currently just trying to lose 25 (I am finishing treatment on my back and neck) so that I am in a healthier spot to start trying for a baby in a few months (we have put it off long enough) and hope it works well for the short term goal and later again long term.

Hello to all!

not quite so new

HI! I'm Ashley, 30 years old and 2.5 months ago I was 150 pounds overweight. After trying the center for medical weight loss with decent results(21.5 pounds in 8 weeks) I switched to IP-and have lost 18.7 pounds in 3 weeks-I WI again tomorrow. I'm finally figuring out(with your help) all the yummy things we can do-I'm also the one that started-and neglected the no cheating thread-now home of the 100%-so glad we can keep that going-check there if you are looking for encouragement about staying OP!

Back to my life-I have 7 wonderful, crazy, hyper, loving children. They are all adopted-and now we are homeschooling them. Ages 2-11. They keep me hoping and I love how easy the mixes are(I don't have to think-just drink!) My goal is to find some veggies I really love-besides salad.

Hello,

I have never formally introduced myself. My name is Shay and I am from "way up nort" in Wisconsin. I have been married to my wonderful and supportive husband Brian for 8 years and we have a sassy 6 year old daughter. I started Ideal Protein on November 15 and have lost 35lbs. I couldn't be happier. I would like to lose another 20-25, not sure yet. Started as a tight size 16W and am now buying size 12 I still can hardly believe it. In high school I had one pair of size 12 pants, but the rest were 14s.

I am so glad I found Ideal Protein. I have struggled with weight loss my whole life. I feel like I have finally turned a corner and will continue to lose and live a new lifestyle when it comes to my relationship with food. I am nervous though to be done with Phase 1. I am hoping no old bad habits come back to haunt me. I really appreciate the support provided on this board and look forward to continue this journey with you all.

Shay

& restarted seriously on January 21st, 2012

I have between 25-30lbs more to go before my daughters wedding in May hoping to reach my goal by April so I can get a nice Mother of the Bride dress.
I love the program so much after being on it for 1 month I talked my mother into doing it with me  & she has had the same results being 4'11 she started around 200lbs & is now 156, her blood pressure is in check, & our joints feel better & our confidence, Wow! It is pretty awesome to feel good inside & out. I would recommend this program to anyone, I love all the food choices & trying new recipes. I am a 36yo Navy vet, with microadenoma pituitary tumors & fibromyalgia, with my weight my feet & joints had started swelling,, no more swelling, it's a great feeling! :carrot:

Hello everyone. I've been lurking here for about a week and I am ready to introduce myself. First of all, when I was registering for this site, the superbowl commercial where the dog is losing weight to fit through the doggie door came on and this was the song playing on the commercial! Since I assumed "Michelle" was already taken, I thought "GetUp..." works.

I began IP on Feb 6 and I'm down about 8 pounds already! The first few days were rough (day 3!) but I am feeling better now and looking for ways to get more creative with what I am allowed to eat. I agree with the person who said it probably takes a good 4 weeks or so to really get the diet down. I'm not a huge veggie person (if I was, I probably wouldn't need this diet) so I've been eating lots of pickles.

I love this website and the Lohja, Finland fb page. I'm inspired to try roasted cauliflower and kale chips. : )

Hi all! Here is the intro I posted on the general intro thread:

Hi everyone!

I have always struggled with my weight, and was able to successfully lose 40lbs by following Atkins many years ago. Unfortunately, due to some other health issues (thyroid, fibromyalgia, etc.), work stress, and depression I have gained it all back. :(

I have pretty much put my life on hold for the last 7 years....I work from home, I stopped dating, etc....all because of my weight. I finally decided that I need to start losing in order to start living again, and I am hoping that everyone here can help me stay motivated and on plan.

I'll be starting off with the Ideal Protein plan because I am looking to lose some weight quickly. Then I will probably transition to Atkins since I prefer to eat whole, unprocessed foods (and Ideal Protein shakes don't qualify as whole food to me).

Please wish me luck!

bethany

I am wrapping up Day 1 today, and other than a TON of horrid work stress, the day and diet has not been too unbearable at all. Though I sure do wish I could celebrate TGIF with a glass of wine right now, sigh. But that's ok....I would rather be thin than have that wine! :)

100poundfreeway 02-17-2012 06:28 PM

my user name is 100poundfreeway because I finally got on the road I need to be! I'm going to loose 100 pounds and I know now with IP I can do this.

I'm happily married to the love of my life and after trying to have a baby for 6 years (we have been together for 13) I finally got prego after loosing about 20 pounds and being under 200 pounds. I'm quite short so my body just functions better at a lower weight. All the women in my family are extreamly over weight and I need to break that chair for my daughter! I live in Montana and Love this place we have so many outdoor things we can share with our little girl and at the weight I'm at I will never be able to ski and hike with her! So I started IP as recomended by my Dr. and a Nutritionist I used to work for! I'm so excited to have my life back and show my daughter a healthy life style!

We are hoping for baby number two at some point before I turn 35 so I have a couple years :) But I know if I loose the weight now I will bounce back better and I know I will be able to follow IP. I'm only three weeks in but I know I can do this now and I know I will!

I'm going for the goal of 100 pounds in a year! I have always let "things" prevent me from loosing weight, mostly all excuses and that huge list of things I will do differently for my kids is finally here! I'm doing this so I know that I'm the the role modle I want to be for my kids! Ya know a better chance at being the "cool" mom and not be an embarasment to them :)

Hi all, I joined this site just this week and am really loving the inspiration. My name is Celena and I am recently married. I got started on IP because of my husband. When he proposed he was 345lbs and vowed to himself that he would not be fat on our wedding day. He started doing low carb at home, which he had done before and lost 70. Then his brother went into his chiropractor office and saw the IP info. He started it, and lost weight, my husband joined and lost 70 more pounds! I wanted to do it before the wedding but I had already bought my dress and needed it to fit. I managed to lose about 30 on my own in a year, just cutting down on some carbs. Now, the wedding is over and I want to get back down to my high school weight. I am on my third week of my second try. The first time was too difficult. I did it in the middle of summer with too many events to stay strict. I currently have a VERY busy schedule, so IP has become easy. I know what I am going to eat, no need to stare in the fridge or go through a drive-thru. It's wonderful. I am doing it until the last week of March (Vegas vacation) and will continue after that if I am not done!
