Hi!

I'm Heather. *waves* I'm a 35 year old, legal secretary from Mississippi.

About a year ago I started losing weight (not on a program or anything, just watching what I ate) and dropped from 180 to around 150, but then I got sidetracked.

So now, I have decided to try IP, I'm currently on day 4. My weight the day I started was 161 and I haven't weighed yet, but I do feel 'lighter' if that makes any sense. Being 5' 2" with a medium build, I need to lose around 40 lbs. I've never actually make it to what the experts call my 'target weight' so we'll see how this goes!

Anyway, I found this forum the other day and I think it's great so I wanted to say "Hi".

First Post - Ideal Protein

Today was my weigh in day I was down 3.2 lbs and 2.5 inches. I have been on the IP diet for almost 6 weeks and have lost 18.6 lbs and 24.25 inches. My starting weight was 236.8 lbs and my goal is to get down to 180 lbs so a lost of about 57 lbs -I am averaging about 3 lbs per week.

From reading the post some are losing more than 3 lbs a week. Any suggestions how to increase my weight loss?

My First Post - Ideal Protein Diet

I am a 40 year old mother of two - 22 yr old son & a 12 yr old daughter. I started the IP Diet on 10/13/11 and weighed 236.8 lbs so it's been about 6 weeks. Today was my weigh in day and I weighed in at 218.2 lbs so I have lost about 18.6 lbs so far. That's about 3 lbs per week. My goal is to lose about 57 lbs I want to get down to 180 lbs.

From reading posts others are losing more than 3 lbs per week. Any suggestions on how to increase my weight lost?

If you stay on the program and follow it to a t it will come off, there is nothing magic that you can do to make it come off faster. Each of our bodies are different and will lose at different paces. You just have to believe in the program and follow it. Believe in yourself, the weight will come off :)

I'm Mary. I lost 90# 2 1/2 years ago. Unfortunately while trying to lose my "last 10" I gained back 20. I gained 10 last December thinking I could handle eating a "few" treats and 10# last May preparing for my youngest daughters high school graduation. I think I'm suffering from some emotional issues with being an empty nester and want to get back to where I was weight wise before it becomes a real problem. I'm 51 years old and have 4 children, ages 24, 23, 19 and 18. I'm married for 25 years. I'm also a recovering addict/alcoholic...almost 3 years now.
Life is good now and I want to get back to where my weight is healthly again and where I feel my best.
I started IP 1 week ago and tomorrow I will have my 1st weigh in. I've followed the diet 100% this week. It hasn't been easy but I feel better today than I have in the past week. The headache has finally subsided, sweating is much better, overall the hunger is better as well.
It truly is a withdrawl from the bad sugar, etc...that was going into my body. I know the short week of discomfort will be worth it in the end.

try to stick to your routine on the weekend as well. Keep things like pickles and cucumbers close by. If it is just you and the baby, don't buy munchie things you like, buy extra veggies instead and keep water or tea handy :)
Welcome!
