Hi - Day 2 here..
My name is Faye and I'm on Day 2. So far so good, actually enjoying most of the packets I've been eating so far, and feeling pretty good. I think it's helped that I've already been low-carbing and trying to eat pretty gluten-free since January. I've also been drinking mostly decaf coffee and tea over the last months, and I'm sure this is one of the reasons I've (so far at least) escaped those nasty withdrawal headaches.
My weight problems started when I was in my 30s, and it's been yo-yo time ever since. I'd lose weight on a serious diet effort (think WW, Nutrisystem, Jenny Craig, Dr. Bernstein, etc.) but I'd regain over the coming months/years. Obviously while I shed the pounds, I hadn't learned what was necessary to retrain my eating lifestyle. My goal this time around with IP is to accomplish that... and of course lose the weight while I'm at it. I love and totally agree with the logic of this diet program, and feel really good about my decision. Also, a shout out again to all here who are so helpful to everyone. I'm fortunate in having a very supportive coach who has been through the program herself. But it's also comforting, finding this 'community' of like-minded people. I think it's going to be a big help... I can see there's never going to be a need to feel lonely or 'in the dark' about some aspect of things as the coming weeks pass.:hug: I feel like I've found friends here. |

Hi everyone! My name is Cheryl, I'm 56 years old and live in South Dakota. I have 2 wonderful sons who have been very supportive, 2 gorgeous dogs and 3 spoiled rotten cats who allow us to live in their house. I've been on IP since 8-2-11. I was 247 at my highest weight, and since IP I'm down to 177 I started with 8 pounds lost the first week, then was averaging 3-4 pounds a week for the first 2-3 months. My weight loss has slowed down to 1-2 pounds a week the last several weeks with a small (less than a pound) gain a couple weeks ago, and I'm trying VERY hard not to get discouraged. When I found this forum I knew it was where I needed to be to stay on track and not give up. I'm so close to my goal of 150 pounds, and I'm determined to get there. I've been really happy with the program, and can't begin to say how much better I feel since I've started. Health wise my blood pressure and cholesterol have both gone way down to normal ranges for the first time in years, and the energy levels are way up. I've gone from size 22 jeans to size 12, and 3x tops to a large..it was a great feeling to move from the plus size departments, and I've had a blast shopping the clearance sales! Hopefully I won't be able to wear what I've bought for long, but I get something new-and when I "shrink" out of them I know they were cheap ;)
I've been reading through some of the posts here, and am so encouraged and inspired by your stories. I can't wait to snoop around some more and check out the tips and recipes! |

Hi, my name is Monique I am 38 married and have 2 children 16 and 10. Today is my first day on the Ideal Protein Diet. I am 5' 5" and weigh 212lbs. I had a heart attack September 16, 2011 and have tried to lose weight but cannot get below the 200lb mark. So I decided to start the Ideal Protein Diet. I have seen and heard lots of good reviews on this diet and can't wait to start seeing a change. I want to live a long and healthy life and see my children grow up and have families of their own.

Hi everyone! My name is Angie. I joined this board and jumped right in. I dont think i even introduced myself LOL! I am a married 25yo, mother of 2 kids ages 8 and 2. Prior to having kids i was always skinny, at my heaviest about 125 when i was 16. After my son was born i lost a good amount of weight and weighed about 175-180. Then i came back to work and i ballooned up to 227. I started making a change in my life in mid January 2012. I bought a juicer and started doing a cleanse, gave up smoking cold turkey, let go of caffeine within 2wks, and just recently gave up red meat for lent. I tried to start running but being so big i was just uncomfortable. I tried the elliptical and couldn't handle more than 10 min with breaks. I was at the point of just going through with the surgery to lose this weight. Then a coworker told me that he was on IP and loved it. I decided to look it up and the rest is history. I started on IP 3/18/12 and have lost 5lbs since. I'm so happy i found this site! You ladies are so inspirational to me. This weekend at my first WI, my coach asked what my goal was, I told him 150. He looked at me and said "it's a little aggresive." I told him "yes it is but thanks to the ladies on 3fatchicks.com I KNOW it is possible!" I can't wait to be able to enjoy my kids and my life to the fullest. I look forward to meeting you all.

Hi all- My name is Kym I started IP in August of 2011. My goal was to loose 103 pounds. I started out at 133 and my goal is set at 130. As of today I have lost 94 pounds. I am so close to my goal that I can taste it! LOL Sorry I have really horrible jokes! I am getting married in August of 2012 so my goal is to reach my goal so that I can start working out and look FAB for my wedding. I am also in the process of putting together a blog out my journey though this transition. One of the main things I have noticed since I started is that I can sit there and watch someone eat my favorite food and I could care less. I get a little jealous but I don't crave it! I love this feeling!

Hi all! My name is Shay, I'm 30, a real estate lawyer and I started IP on Jan 25, 2012 (how is that only 2 months ago?!). It's been an incredible journey but I wouldn't made it past day 2 if I hadn't discovered this forum.
I almost convinced myself it was an impossible protocol to follow in those first withdrawal days but logging on and seeing the amazing losses & encouragement from the superstars like Lisa and even other brand newbies made me stick with it. And that was before I found the recipes! With those, I stopped feeling I was missing out--I mean come on, pancakes, muffins, creamy soups from little silver packets is damn near magical ;-) Anyway, thanks to all you ladies I keep pushing my goal back b/c at first it was hard to imagine what 40 lbs would look like. I'm also nervous about leaving phase 1 but I know help is here on 3FC! . |
