Have you tried the EAS carb control drinks or Pure Protien? I bought some at Target for much less than the IP drinks and they have just about the same make up. Maybe you could do one of those per day to decrease the expense.

Good luck!

Lady5andy I did your survey. It said a lot in French at the end. Unfortunately, I don't speak French although I really wish I did after 3 yrs of it in high school and then college. At the first section, there are choices of once a week or once a day. For me, I use some of the products more than once a week but not every day. I wished there had been an option of a few times a week. But anyway, it will be interesting to see the results. Thanks for doing it. I mean merci!

Hi everyone! Sorry I have been so out of it the past few days. I am trying to get ready for a vacation and, I'm leaving tomorrow! I don't know that I will get a chance to read all the posts I've missed and will likely be out of touch til the end of the month.

I am so nervous about going this time! I think it is the puppy. I just feel weird leaving her when we are doing so much training. Oh well, I have a friend staying at my place to take care of the cat and dogs while I am gone so, hopefully, they will have a somewhat normal routine.

I will do my best to catch up on next weeks chat when I get back! Everyone take care and have a successful week!

Kelsey, I will post my weight for the challenge tomorrow before I leave. I won't be able to post again (no scale going with me) until August 26. I hope that is ok.

ate like a pig for lunch or at least felt like a pig: 7 oz of skirt steak plus 2 cups of cauliflower. Going to look at the nutritional info.

She is 19 and started at 229, she has never been below 200 for at least 6 yrs, she has lost 20lbs and 28 inches so far but i am worried for her, she lost no weight last week and she stepped on the scale this morning and still no loss, i dont want her to get discouraged, she is getting her water, salt and oil intake daily. Do you think her body is just saying "haha, i aint going any farther" any info would be helpful to pass on to her, thanks again novak and everyone else on this wonderful forum
Remember why we store fat in the first place... we are built to cover those periods when we don't have food available. Think tribal. Hunting and gathering and such.

Not sure what day she started, but about 4-5 weeks in, it's common for your body to say, "Okay, is this fat-burning deal legit, or are we about to take down a wooly mammoth here?" Update that to, "Are you joking, or what?" If she just presses on with the protocol, her body will get the message and decide it's for real. Honest. Don't worry. It will work.

This of course, assumes that she's not getting extra carbs, either inadvertently or as a cheat. Does she use Ketostix to make sure she's still in ketosis? Has she added restricted IP items to her food intake? It's always smart to check into those things when you hit a snag, but don't get discouraged.

Look at how far she's come already. It's awesome! I found that sometimes my slowest weight loss weeks turned out to be the highest inches lost. And I think sometimes your body just needs to catch up with itself. So my advice is to stay on course and don't stress (that ALSO can affect weight loss.) The result will come as quickly as your body needs to get the job done. And keep checking in here for support. Lots of people have faced this issue... or just about any other you might run into!

Hey everyone. After spying on you guys for a few weeks now I thought I should finally introduce myself. I started IP 3 weeks ago. When I first found 3FC, it was what I think was the original thread from about a year ago, and I read it through in it's entirety before realizing there were current threads, oops. I've already learned a lot from reading all your advice to each other, and have bookmarked a bunch of links you given each other. You really all seem so nice and encouraging, and I'm very glad I happened upon this site. Maybe in time I can do the same (be helpful).

There have been questions bouncing around in my head but I can think of none of them right now, I'll blame it on 'mommy brain', I've got two little ones at home.

Congrats to all of you on your really amazing losses!!! It is so great to read real testimonies of IP working.

I hope you don't mind me adding some extra excitement to this note, but my 3yo is always asking when I'm on this site to show him the dancing carrots and broccoli, and then he laughs. So I'm going to put some in for him.

I have been on an alternate version of IP (no sucralose and no gluten allowed for me) and after 25 days - I am down 20.5 lbs!
Everyone is beginning to notice, especially my husband. He decided - after watching me eat, that he could do that too.
He started 2 days ago and has lost 10.5 lbs! Why such quick weight loss? Is it water weight or what? How come women can't do that? I just don't think it's fair!

Lick the ball, I pop it in my mouth! But darn, I should have thought about swishing out the packet.

It is most likely water loss at first. Unfortunately since men have more muscle mass then we do he will continue to lose a bit faster than you. But don't be discouraged. Be happy that is is willing to do it with you!

I'm so-so. The heat and humidity have really caused me to hold H2O. I always drank a gallon of water a day, but I have been drinking a lot more lately, taking extra potassium and am on perscription water pills, asparagus, lemon, tea, etc... Gained 3 lbs in 3 days, so I know its H2O. I really want to get to 50 lbs. soon. I'm trying. Hopefully it will all fall off fast, like you. Didn't you say once you took an extra potassium you dropped 7 lbs. overnight? Or something like that.
