I vote YAY. I'm still having a bar every day and have since day 1 of the diet. They are pretty much identical to the IP ones. Some (like the caramel nut) are made by the same manufacturer. I'm not recommending a bar every day for everybody, but for some people they don't hurt. And you only have 2 pounds to go until goal. YAY for you! Have a treat!

How are any of you getting around 800 calories per day following the program? I've tracked mine on Livestrong's "My Plate" and I haven't had more than 750 calories in a day and the two days I did have over 700 I had 4 or 5 packages. He was not picky about when to have the real protein meal, lunch or dinner was OK. Most of the times, I have my real, non-IP food during dinner but occasionally, I have it for lunch depending on where I am.
They actually told you to HAVE one restricted package a day? hmmm For me it was IF you wanted it. Actually the Stew and Spaghetti also say ONLY have once or twice a week. Maybe you want to look into not having the restricted one every day?
I only did that for the first 2 weeks because I was given a chart of what to eat when and followed it to the letter. Haven't had one since then.
Hi, Linden. You started at the same weight I did and have the same goal approximately. If you are in ketosis at 800 calories, you are not in starvation mode. If you are not in ketosis, then yes, you would be in starvation mode. I notice you are having a restricted item once a day. I did the same. But some people on here do better with a restricted item only 2-3 times per week. Carla's coach hasn't allowed her to have any restricted items at all yet. And she's been doing the diet for months. If you are having the bars, the sugar alcohols in them may be increasing your blood sugar too much. Some people are more sensitive to it than others. Also, maybe you are just suffering from constipation and need to try some of the magnesium citrate. Is your weight 169 like your tracker says or have you truly gained all the weight back? If it's 169, 15 pounds of weight loss since June isn't too shabby.
Actually I went up to 176.4 from 169 and have just worked my way back down to 171.1. I've never had a bar and haven't had a restricted for over 2 weeks. I'm not in ketosis -- am definitely in starvation mode again this morning and that scares me sh--less. I also added extra protein yesterday. At 68 I can't afford to play around with heart muscle. Well, no one can. Has anyone else had this happen to them?

dietfrenzy: Thanks for taking time to respond. What you say makes sense to me. My body feels much better after meat/fish + veg than after packet + veg. I may just have to experiment to find what works for me. Next weigh-in, I hope my coach will have some answers for me.
I used to be able to stay up late (midnight) and typically slept in later in the morning. These days I'm yawning and sleepy as early as 8 pm and waking up at the crack'o'dawn. Did anybody else find that IP reset your circadian rhythm?

Oh my goodness! I wasn't able to put my finger on it until now. Yes! Even though I continue to have energy well into the evening, I now wake up very early. I kind of like it. I don't seem to have the daily battle of getting out of bed. I'm just suddenly awake. Hummm, definitely going to keep a watch on this to see if there is a pattern.

Yes!! I am heading for bed around 9 and am wide awake by 5:30. That is a big change from bed at 11 and dragging myself out of bed at 6:45. Of course, it helps that as soon as I open my eyes I want to run to the bathroom to jump on the scale.

You are very tall. I was wondering if you feel the same thing...The 60lbs I've gained in the last 12 years has only resulted in going up two sizes. I sometimes feel down after my more petite friends lose 20lbs. and go down three dress sizes. I try to concentrate on inches and not dress size since I only forsee getting down to a size 14.
What are the thoughts out there amongst the above average height members?
How do you keep motivated after seeing friends drop sizes and you are not, even though losing weight?
I always went to bed around 9 and woke up around 8 but would have a hard time getting out of bed, now I find I stay up later and go to bed around 10:30, because I find if I go earlier, I just lay there, and I wake up between 5-7 every morning and am ready to get out of bed!

I comfort myself with the knowledge that 20 extra pounds on me is spread thinly on my frame and looks like 5 would on a super-petite frame. Also that I can eat more and still lose or maintain when the time comes.

'tis true. I had my basal metabolic rate (the amount of calories that your body needs to sustain life. breath in, breath out, pump blood) taken a couple of months ago. Just to keep me alive my body burns 2,000 calories a day. Lean, mean, burning machine (minus the lean part right now, working on that). So in the end I will be able to eat a bit more and maintain my weight.
