Thanks again Carla. I appreciate everyone's kindness in answering my questions.

I think I need to better understand the products and I haven't had any luck getting a response back to my contact form sent online.

I wish I had a center. I suspect I would be alot less confused. =)

Protein will actually make you feel fuller and a lot longer than a bowl of cereal filled with carbs and low protein (and all fitness magazines will publish that over and over every issue) so you'd be surprised when you have a shake that contains 18g of protein.

Hey y'all...I'm obese! Why is this exciting? Well, I'm not super obese, morbid obese, or any other obese, just plain ole obese. LOL! How exciting! And my bestie is a skinny little gal and my cholesterol and triglycerides and all are better than hers. We went to a health screaning today and I was excited to see how it was and was it great! The only bad news of the day was that I am obese, otherwise you'd have thought I would be a fine skinny specimen of a person looking at my blood levels. So, I am on the way to being overweight, hopefully I'll be overweight at the next health fair.

Still haven't caught up on the posts yet, so will work more on that tomorrow, I need to get to bed.

Hugs to all!

motiv8edmama - that's a lot of awesome news to stay motiv8ed

mamaerinb - not diet related but there was a bug crawling up my screen as I was reading this page and my lovely cat decided to get rid of it for me... but in the process, she thought your little "whoohoo" guy in your signature was also a bug so she kept on trying to nip at your signature too thought I'd share just in case you're a cat lover too

haven't stopped laughing from Lady5andy and Taylor....mine sink to the sides like you wouldn't believe! so, i am willing to share/give up some of mine if anyone wants. they seem to always be in the way!

Motiv8ed: COnGRATS!! good news.

OnTargetforLife: At first, i was hungry in the AM, so I would have an extra IP drink whenever I felt hungry. My strategy is it is better to eat more than starve... so as long as you stick to the allowed foods, you should be OK. After 2 weeks on the diet, the hunger subsided (some folks, it only takes 3 or 4 days). I must admit that there are days when I do get hungrier so I have tea (no sugar) and if that doesn;t work, i'll have an extra IP pack. I always carry 1 extra each day just in case.

My week 7 WI was this evening and I am in the 180's!! haven't here in a long while... so feeling proud.

many hugs to you all. dina

It's all about perspective, isn't it? I'm so happy you're obese too!! Seriously, where else could you tell someone that and have it be a compliment - I love this board!! Congrats!

Does 150 seem more attainable or is BMI 20.9 going to be difficult?

Oh, and I'm disappointed in myself that I didn't do more research before starting IP since Dr. Tran Tien has the diet protocol on his website, and gives a choice of a packet or a measure of protein: http://www.trantiendiet.com/site/spip.php?rubrique36
Would anyone be willing to tell me if there is a benefit to using the IP packets compared to the "measures of protein" so I can make myself feel better about the start-up fees and $4 packets?
I think 150 would be OK for you. You'll know what's right when you get there.

The packets are super low in carbs and make it easy to eat right on the diet, especially when you're quite hungry and need something right away. In other words, they can keep you from bingeing in a weak moment. Plus they give you some variety over just using protein powder drinks. Not being bored with the diet could keep you on plan longer.

After the first few days, once I was in ketosis, I really wasn't hungry. If liquids don't satisfy you, you could have the puddings or make yourself an omelet with 1 egg plus 3 whites (I had 2 eggs for breakfast plenty of times). You can add veggies like spinach and mushrooms to your omelet to make it even more filling. Plus drink about 16 oz. of water and take your morning supplements. You should be plenty full.

Good morning all! I have a new favourite IP packet! Tried the Cappuccino last night for the first time. Put it in the blender with water, ice and some WF chocolate syrup...delish! It was better than an Iced Capp from Timmy's!! :0)

BevS - I know that you use the natural flavoured whey protein isolate with WF chocolate syrup rather than packets. How many shakes on average do you get out of a can and how much of the syrup do you put in? Just wondering if going this route would be cheaper than using the IP chocolate pudding packets (I currently pay $3.75 for each).

With respect to (o)(o), I too have nothing left (hence the lower-case o's). Why are they always the first to go on a diet? I'll have to invest in a few fantastic push-up bras too, unfortunately. The places that I'm having the most difficult time losing weight is my thighs...so annoying!!
