I do have bars, RTD choc & vanilla drinks, I still have IP choc covered soy puffs, and salt and vinegar ridges left. I finally placed another Lindora order yesterday. I'm happy with the rate of loss I have experienced. I remember BevS always saying a bar a day kept her sane. I watched Novac and BevS lose so well, and they did things very differently, but they both did great. As long as we stick to the plan, we'll be fine, and you should be over the moon. Look how small you are. Very impressive.
Wannabe and Kelsey - I lost 40 pounds in 3. 5 months too but boy do I feel deprived compared to what you're been eating Kelsey!! My diet is way more like Wannabe's. No restricteds in a long, long time and some of those bars are very very good. Somehow, I just feel better with the drinks and then real protein at dinner. Not sure if it's my digestion, food allergies or metabolism but once you know what it feels like to be digesting and eliminating properly, you don't want to do anything to upset it! I guess I have a sensitive system like Wannabe is describing. Congrats to us. Proves there's more than 1 way to have success with IP!

I agree on the pink lemonade. The pina colada is pretty good and the banana/pineapple is ok, but I agree that they need about twice the water to make them taste right. I shake them up, let the sit in the fridge anywhere from 30 minutes to a day, then shake with some more water and pour over ice and serve with a bendy straw, so I'm sipping a lovely fruit drink. Sitting in the fridge seems to make them less grainy.

My DH has been doing his own kind of alternative along with me (on plan) and he has been eating the Dixie Diner Nutlettes to go, which he orders from Netrition. They are $4.29 for a 6-pack, and they are REALLY crunchy, kind of like grape nuts. Pretty good with some WF maple syrup...

He has a really high metabolism, and these do ok for him. I've been thinking about using them but I'd probably use a half packet at a time (given the calories and carbs). But each packet is probably 1/2c of cereal, so a half pack is still good size.

I totally agree - I've even added VIA to the IP cappuchino - keeps me going until lunch!

Here's a technique that might be useful for people who tote their lunches. I've found it VERY helpful. Since most of our food comes by boat from the mainland (which is shameful, but another issue), getting prime, fresh salad lettuce is a challenge. We have wonderful farmers' markets but I'm squeamish about the slightly more than occasional bugs that come with their organic salad. So this method is ideal for keeping salad fresh.

Try Medaglia d'Oro instant espresso coffee. A small teaspoon + cappuchino + 16 oz water + heat = great. And it's cheaper.

Brilliant.... I am just in the process of borrowing a dehydrater to try to make turnip chips, sweet potatoe chips (for my son) and dried fruit (also son) for now. I have often looked at the vacuum sealers, and when I get my garden next year, I think both will come in very handy.... I will be searching the garage sales, I love salad, hate having to spend every night making them, this is perfect.

Oh, boy. I've been wracking my brain trying to remember who was interested in a dehydrater. I stumbled across this a few days ago. Great fun.

And could someone please tell me how to reset my tracker? I'm tired of wallowing in frustration.

Got this from a friend at work...

With time, women gain weight because we accumulate so much information and wisdom in our heads that when there is no more room, it distributes out
to the rest of our bodies. So we aren't heavy, we are enormously cultured, educated and happy.

Beginning today, when I look at my butt in the mirror I will think, Good grief, look how smart I am!

Must be where 'Smart a$$' came from!

Just a little humor to get ya thru the weekend!

I saw someone above (sorry, I didn't "click" it on my way by) said they were stuck and going to cut out the cappucinos, etc. to see if that helps. I have done the same thing, but did not want to miss out on that nummy flavor. I use a vanilla ready to go and add instant coffee. The Starbuck's VIA packets are awesome (and come in decaf, but they are spendy!) but any kind will do. You can mix it together and then microwave it, or pour the whole thing over ice. The great part is you can also add 6-8 oz of water so you get some more water in at the same time. And it's only 2c instead of 4.

I've also realized the cereal (one of my favorites) is 7c. I've made that a restricted for myself and can only have it once every few days. It used to be my "every morning" treat.

I had commented once to my coach that I was going to only use the lower-carb packets and her response was, "oh, they are all so low other than the restricteds, it doesn't matter" but I have learned that it DOES matter when you add it up at the end of the day.

For those of you who are doing Fitday or otherwise tracking your exact carb intake, I'd be interested to hear what you have learned about packet selection other than avoiding restricteds?

Also, I have no idea how but I got knocked out of ketosis earlier this week. I was suddenly EXHAUSTED and STARVING for about 6 hours...first time in 10 weeks. Did someone say that fennel did this to them? I had grilled fennel the night before (omg, it was SO good!).
i stay away from chocolate drink, cereal and cappucino. other than that i think the carbs are pretty decent in the non-restricteds-i too stick to making shakes with the chocolate and vanilla puddings and dumping them in coffee in the morning for my am packet. and i do the LOW carb restricteds like chili (9 net carbs) if i'm going to have them, i refuse to buy bars anymore, everytime i eat one i just want another so i've given up on those-and i really only lost about 1 lb a week when i was eating them daily

I ordered on the last day of the Lindora 30% off sale and just got a package today. I'm not sure if it's all of it, but its close. Woot!

I completely agree that the net carbs matter -- weeks I eat stuff higher in carbs, I don't lose as much. Period. I started tracking, and I'm doing much better.

Have been so busy the last two days with house guests I have't had a second to check the boards...glad everyone seems to be doing ok.

Did Pita take her scale to the Oregon Coast? Inquiring minds want to know.

I have a big 'wine event' tomorrow, and I'm cooking a full chicken tonight and getting my veggies ready to go so I am ready if I can't eat the dinner (which is, um, likely). Then I'll debone it and put it in 5 oz packages. Someone said (carla?) it's like packing for kids -- I don't have kids, but I imagine this is similar. Of course, no freakin' WINE for me.

The strawberries I planted before I was on the diet are turning red. Giving those away when they ripen. Oh, and I can live without most fruit, but I'm going to miss cherries this year, since they are hard to get in the winter when I'll be off. Bing and Black Republican's (it's a cherry, honest, very rare, hence the name...) are my favorite. Ok, I think I needed to type it, now I'm over it.
