Default soup's not bad

I'm playing a game to try everything at least once. I had the mushroom soup with sautéed green onion, celery and portobello mushroom. I'd have it again, though I'd sauté the mushroom first so it soaks up more of the olive oil. I think I'll have the raspberry jello for a snack later, and the other soups tomorrow. Imagonna take advantage of that return policy -- if I don't like it, the extra packs are going B-A-C-K!

jordash Congrats on coming off a diabetes medication. That's a BIG deal!

toothgirl I recall seeing other posts about vanilla premade shakes being in short supply, last week's chat thread maybe?

Other things to try (not all together ) nutmeg, cinnamon, WF maple syrup, sugar free syrups (like Torani), extracts (vanilla, orange, mint in the chocolate is great). My new one: chocolate pudding with a little cinnamon and a dash of hot sauce: it's like Mexican chocolate!

I've been buying Calorie Countdown, a "milk drink" product from Hood. It only has 3g of carb in a cup, so we use it in place of all our milk (in tea and in cereal). I don't think I am allowed to put the link in here but if you google it, you can get their site. I find it at Fred Meyer but at the Hood site you can send them a note requesting to get it in your area, or find out who carries it. Tastes and looks just like milk.
you can whisk it a bit to get the syrup to blend in, then toss the whole thing in a shaker with the nutlettes.

Xanthia, I have that same issue (a dip in the 4-8 and then not hungry before bed). I try making up one of the drinks or puddings with 2-3 times the amount of water, and then drink half during the "dip" and do half before I got to bed. Seems to really help.

Go to urgent care. This does not sound like an IP related thing. Please take care of yourself, we are all thinking of you today

I ordered the vanilla ready mades from New Lifestyle Diet and they are the exact same formulation, and (most importantly to me!) taste the same. Order came (cheapest shipping) in less than a week. I got a case of 24 for $82/US (including shipping). Spendy, but only about 75% of what I was paying for the IP.

Yes, you heard it here; she stepped on the scale and read 181.6, stepped off the scale, wiped her sleepy eyes, and stepped back on the scale where the little digital numbers once again stopped at 181.6. Never has she been more elated since starting IP then now. Here's why: slow loss has started to creep away, and medium loss is taking over, 40 lbs lost means she's only 2.5 away from 1/2 way to goal, 181.6 means she's alost in the 170s - which she hasn't seen in over 4 years, and because, well 40 is just a HUGE freakin' amount of poundage to lose in less than 4 months.

For those of you that have followed her success story, she hasn't loved Dr. "F" Face (her IP coach) for a while now, and so, she quit going to see him a couple weeks ago. He sent her text message yesterday inquiring about her where abouts on Friday morning - or at least missing her in his office, and she told him, she needed a break, so she wouldn't be making an appointment. The truth is she needs a break from him and the ravaging of her $$$, but NOT from IP. She loves IP. She loves her friends at 3FC!!!

Hope everyone has a great weekend! Thanks people for the support of this board. It's safe to say that none of us would be where we are today without EACH OTHER, the board is not what pulls us through, it's simply the medium for which we HUMANS can communicate or feelings, thoughts, opinions, successes, failures, frustrations, enthusiasms and whatever else we have going on. So hugs and kisses from Florida! I love you all. I call you my friends, and I mean it.
Congrats on 40 pounds gone forever!! I'm so proud of you! Keep up the great job.

We've had a few conversations here about why they are being reformulated at IP-- there are differing opinions but here's my suggestion. Look at Lindora. They can be slow to ship but my last order was for 15 packages of 4 vanilla boxed drinks. Total cost with shipping was $105. That's 60 drinks! It's good to catch them when they have a sale and/or free shipping. The drinks are pretty much identical to IP. Just an idea...Someone here had really fast shipping recently. That's the only negative in my mind. You can't be sure when you will receive your order. The website says ships in 48 hours. They don't always mean it.

I agree! We pay a lot of money to them every week. If the coaches aren't a source of support they don't deserve your hard earned money.

I'm thrilled with my losses on IP and how I feel, but I find myself obsessing over the scale, fantasizing about "foods I'll eat when. . ." and wonder how I can change my mind as well as my body. At least the foods I'm thinking about aren't cookies and such, but nuts, fruit (raspberries are almost ripe - cherry's are in season) and popcorn. I guess the final word is that hearing other's concerns helps me think about my own SDB (self defeating behaviors) so I can start trying to heal my spirit/mind as well as my body. Today I'm dropping one more of my diabetes medications with doctor's approval. What a gift and it only took 5 weeks. So I know there is physical healing occurring. Again, thanks to all of you for your insights, encouragement and willingness to be vulnerable by sharing your thoughts, feelings, fears and experiences.

Great news about getting rid of one of your diabetes medications!! That is a HUGE NSV!

Taylor Hopefully since you haven't responded to the other posts it means you went to the doctor. Better to play it on the safe side. Is the pain just in the middle or does it radiate anywhere? Are you nauseated at all? Have you ever had problems with your gallbladder? Hope you're feeling better soon.

Hope everyone is having a nice weekend so far

[QUOTE=Kelsey;3372752]I'm in Osceola county. Saint CLoud, FL. I'm surrounded by Orlando, Kissimmee, Melbourne/Cocoa area. It's about 3 1/2 hours DH said. But if ever you're in the area, we should have lunch! (IP approved of course)

Sorry took so long, I've been crazy busy.

I use to have an office in Kissimmee, so I know the area well. My sister went to Rollins. We were just in Orlando over Memorial Weekend. Yes, I would love to get together. I have to tell you, I really want to get back up there after I finish IP. The Mandara spa at the Dolphin has "Ionathermie". Its a body toning treatment that is amazing. I first tried it 3 years ago. I want to tackle all this giggly skin from the weight loss. I do water aerobics in order to not end up with bat wings, but I still have giggle.

I read some posts responding to our discussion on humidity. I think being from Florida that we truly understand the need for water. I drink no less than a gallon a day. There are other causes for water retention, otherwise my doctor wouldn't have put me on medication.

YES!!!! Take the coastline highway from Boston to Salisbury, Massachusettes. There is a boardwalk there, if you boardwalks. But, as soon as you cross into New Hampshire take the left toward SeaBrook Power Plant. About a mile or 2 up on the right is a place called "Browns Seafood". They have a huge lobster tank and you pick out which one you want and they cook it for you. It is VERY casual, picnic tables, wash basins. They have other seafood and landlubbers food. I haven't been there in a long time, but I heard its still there. I pulled all the meat out of a 2.25 lb. lobster last week and it came to 7.5 oz. It was so sweet, I didn't even miss not having butter. I really like Hampton Beach, but the water is cold

HAVE FUN!!!

I haven't tried the Miracle Noodles but have done the Shirataki Tofu Noodles which have been great, I substitute a cup of veggies for a cup of noodles (just because they are 3 carbs, i think).

Last night I made a chicken breast and took the Walden Farms Alfredo Sauce (not bad for a base) and added a small forkful of pre-made pesto (make sure you find one very low in carbs) and mixed it together and then put a little sauce on my chicken and pasta... if you like pesto it tasted like a creamy pesto version.

I've also added the noodles to the chicken/mushroom or leek soups to give it some texture... Hope that helps!

Regarding the headache.... when I feel one coming on I put some seasalt in my water and drink it down. it seems to relieve the headaches. i had my hubby try it the other night (he's not on this program) and it worked for him too w/in about 15 minutes.

[QUOTE=TaylorMayde;3379947]I had a rough night last night /QUOTE] I hope you've been able to make it to the doctor's. If not, when you go, explore the possibility of a muscle separation. Have you done something strenuous in the last two days? move something heavy? been tackled playing professional football?

And Everyone Else Who Shared Concern

I went to the doctor. He said its from my reflux acting up. However I hate my doctor. He never listens to me, and always puts me on medicines for things I never said were wrong. Today, he put me on a medicine for a urinary tract medicine (same medicine for the 5th time, still hasn't fixed it??) a cream for nausea (don't feel nauseous at all, and told him that) and back on my original reflux medicine (he switched me from it when it wasn't working at all) He also mentioned I have a high level of ketones in my urine, so many that I must not have eaten anything in days. I told him about the diet and he said I HAVE to eat carbs. I told him I get about 40 grams a day, and he said there was no way with the amount of ketones I have. He told me if I didn't get off of it, I was likely to get gallstones. My ex went with me, and since we got home all he has done is yell at me about how the diet is going to kill me and how I'm not eating any real food and my shakes can't compare to a real meal. Like, he doesn't understand how hard it is to be overweight, and how much harder it is to lose weight, especially with a thyroid problem. All I can even do right now is sit here and cry.

Good news is I was down 14 lbs since my last dr. visit, less than a month ago.

TaylorMayde- Don't let him yell at you, that doesn't do anyone any good. I'm sure he cares about you and doesn't want to see anything bad happen to you but there is a better way to show that then by yelling. Maybe you should see another doctor, especially if you don't like this one. Some docs out there think that prescriptions will fix everything. Obviously, no one can give you medical advice here but please do what's right for you and your health.

I was diagnosed w/ an underactive thyroid a few years ago, so I feel your pain. It's hard enough to lose weight as it is, nevermind adding one more thing to make it even harder.

And congrats on the 14 lbs lost.... Sending hugs and warm fuzzy feelings your way... I don't like hearing that your crying today.....

we are all here for you!

ChelleFl I've been wondering where you've been. I was just up in that area last week. Boston, then Newburyport and straight up to Maine. Lobster every day I was there. Yum yum. We stayed in Camden but Portland had the best fish market. We brought home a lb of picked out lobster- just tails and claws. I am a true NewEnglander- born and raised in Connecticut. We ate seafood including raw oysters practically from birth. Now I want to go to the place you suggested-- the more casual, the better the lobster I think! So how have you been??

My suggestion is to get a second opinion. Especially since you don't like/trust your doc. Meds are not always the right answer for everything. I work in the pharmaceutical industry and don't like the idea of addressing the symptoms (which medicines do) instead of understanding the root cause of what is happening. good luck! -dina
