*sigh* dont mind me...im just disappointed today.
LettucePray---I love your user name!!! Please do not be disappointed--you probably are having a hormone fluctuation going on. I know that I had 2.5 two weeks in a row and I did have a couple of ounces of peanuts but I do not beleive that is what caused the slow down--I think it was hormones and my body just trying to adjust--I bet you are back on track within two weeks. Besides could you really have lost 1.4 pounds every week consistently on your 1200 cal diet? (If it were me all those foods that I could have on a regular 1200 cal diet would just make me want more of those foods that slow the weight loss)
Chin up!!!

I have received two orders from Lindora and I can do this. This was like the icing on the cake (ooh poor choice of words) she has seemed rude everyweek for the last month and I do not need her negative vibes. Heck I've lost 50 punds to .... with her!
You go, girl!!!

I'd stay away from any type of teryaki sauce or sauces in general - they usually have a fair amount of sugar. ask them what they cook their vegies in... good luck - it sounds yummy!

I just found out that our office is taking everyone out for lunch and they chose a Chinese restaurant. Oh my!! I can't not go. What am I going to eat??

Beyourbest- I had the same thought as Jordanna. You employ them, and can take your business elsewhere. I would be thrilled with your progress. Don't let them mess with your head. I would definitely tell the management about that counselor too. I know as an employer, you want to know if there is a problem, so it can be remedied. They might not know what she is doing, to you, and likely others too. Congrats on the 50# loss!!!

Dad- Loved your post. I counldn't have said it better.

Do you all recommend using a mentor/coach or is this something I could do on my own?
I have a coach, but I pretty much weigh and measure myself and send her in the measurements. I haven't bought any of their product in a couple of months--it's too expensive. I use Lindora or whey protein isolate instead of IP packets. I get my support on this forum. I have lost 39 pounds since January 5 and have gone from a size 16 to a size 8. So I think it's fair to say you can do it on your own if you have the determination.

A popular idea is that the deeper the level of ketosis as measured by Ketostix (tm), the greater the weight/fat loss. However there is no data to support or refute this claim. While some popular diet authors have commented that urinary ketone excretion means that bodyfat is being excreted causing fat loss, this is only loosely true in that ketones are made from the breakdown of fat in the liver. The number of calories lost in the urine as ketones amounts to 100 calories per day at most. Anecdotally, higher levels of urinary ketones seem to be indicative of slower fat loss. Individuals who maintain trace ketosis seem to lose fat more efficiently although there is no research examining this phenomenon. A possible reason is this: high levels of ketones in the bloodstream raise insulin slightly and block the release of free fatty acids from fat cells. This seems to imply that higher levels of ketones will slow fat mobilization. The ideal situation would seem to be one where trace ketosis (as measured by Ketostix (tm)) is maintained, since this is the lowest level of ketosis which can be measured while still ensuring that one is truly in ketosis. This should be indicative of relatively lower blood ketone concentrations, meaning that bodyfat can be mobilized more efficiently.
THANK YOU!!!

I have always wanted to have this kind of information. It is so detailed!

Yin Yang: If you can, find out which chinese place you are going to. Then call and tell them you have some food issues/allergies/intolerances and want to know how they prepare certain foods. Ask if they can do a steamed all white meat or shrimp dish with steam veggies no sauces or added salt. just water. This of course assumes your office is letting you all order seperately. If not, take a bottle of water and and ip drink with you. Eat a salad and veggies before going. THEN, just enjoy the social time. Chinese is too hard if you can't order for yourself and can't get it sauce free and steamed/sauted in water.

Kelsey:Call the japanese place. Look for a dish on their menu that is cooked without sauces, marinade, or terriyaki. Remember you can have edamame, steamed veggies, sashimi, grilled chicken or steak or shrimp. Don't have any rice vinegar items. They are likely to use the full carb rice vinegar.

Beyourbestin Idaho: She was totally out of line. My first reaction was like Jordanna's. Tell her you will take your business somewhere else. You will lose as fast as you are physically able. If they don't want exercise at all they should get that right internally to begin with and communicate it. CALL Ideal Protein from the website. Find out if this is acceptable. Find out if you have other options in your area. Like you said, if nothing else see about getting one of the other people in the practice to help. Talk to the doctor you first saw. Don't give up because this person is behaving badly.

Personally, I needed to have that weekly checkin with a coach to keep me honest! It keeps me going... you can decide after doing it for a while when you'd be confident to keep going on your own with Lindora or other less expensive options.

Good luck!

I agree with you completely. I didn't start buying any Lindora until a few weeks ago. I didn't even want to hear about it in the beginning and thought I would never buy anything but IP. You need to learn the protocol, establish your own routine for awhile before you start experimenting
with other choices. Lindora interested me because they had some food options IP doesn't have which gives you a little variety. But other than the tomato soup I haven't tried any of them yet. I always like having choices.
And thanks for the vote of confidence for my comments on slower weight loss weeks! I love the support.

another point that I've been telling a friend of mine who isn't sure about the cost --

take a week to tally up ALL your food expenses - including soda, espressos - everything... you'll probably see that going with IP isn't a whole lot more... you can really save on your 'additional' food by buying in bulk at Costco or other place - pick up a box of freezer ziploc bags and divide up and freeze - I buy all my salad stuff and most my vegies at Costco too. It ends up costing maybe $10-$15 a week.

And - full IP is for a limited amount of time - not the rest of your life - it's an investment in YOU!
