Hi, I just received the information, got the book together and I am reading it.
Hoping to start next week. Need to get my mind organized for this. I was doing WW for a long time but think I need a change.
So, you have done this programme before? Why would you combine it with another programme? Hope I am not asking silly questions.
The Beck SolutionDiet is not a diet but a cognitive therapy step by step book. It helps deal with all the head stuff that goes along with overeating. Each day there are more steps to do as you learn to eat like a thin person.
I have never done the MT actual program as it is too expensive. I found the mini makeover on line and I do that one just modify it a little cause it is too low in calories. It follows the same premise as the actual diet just smaller portions.

Bandit -
There are a couple of people on the forum who have done this diet. I did it years ago. There were some people who made "unfavorable comments" about it. I agree that the 6 week plan is too radical but... as far as the regular part of the diet I was very pleased. It was a big eye opener to me that it wasn't the fat content I should be focusing on but instead I needed to make sure I was cutting out the sugar as much as possible. For the first time in years I saw the scale start to shift down.
I think eating the mini meals helped alot. At the time I was working from home and was more easily able to fit in the gym workouts as well as the mini meals. Once I was back in the office again and got out of my routine - it was especially difficult to remember or be able to eat every 2 hours or so - the weight loss stopped.
I'm back to WW again. Of all the diet plans discussed on this forum, it seems that the Michael Thurmond plan was one that never drew much of a discussion thread here.
Don't let that discourage you in your efforts. Good luck to you!
I have looked into this program around the net, it seems to be a bit too restrictive. But I was thinking of getting the book that is suppose to be the program more compiled. I am more curious about the exercise portion, if anyone is a body type A can you tell me what the exercise portion is like if that is not going against any rules. I took the online questionair and it says i'm type A.
I would just like to say that the 6WBMO works and so does other programs, but you have to make up your mind that you are going to work it.
Yes, in the weightloss phase it is a little restrictive, but it's real food and it's all about learning what works for your body. The Provida site has tons of delicious recipes that other members on the plan have come up with and that will give you plenty of variety.
This is my second go around with the plan and it's not the plans fault that I fell off the wagon, but my own. It's a well put together plan that allows you to eat real food without purchasing expensive bars or shakes.
It's all about a lifestyle change and a made up mind to make those needed changes.
So while the program has been talked about in a negative light, I believe in the program because I know that it works.
Good attitude - so how is it going? I am still doing gym for my exercise & so far doing pretty good. Down 10.2# in 3 weeks - probably should have been more, but I am pleased with this.
bandit2, I am doing pretty good! I know that I would probably have faster weightloss if I did different exercise, but I love Turbo Jam and Cathe' F. So I know that I am building muscle and getting more toned and lean, so that is a definite plus. I am a type C so I am little bit more muscular underneath the fat rolls anyway.
I feel like the little black book is a powerful weapon and as long as I focus and follow the plan, I will get desired results.
So I am curious bandit how are you doing I just ordered this program, and am ready to have a fight with my scale.....Please tell me how you like the program so far, I have been back and forth on weight issues all of my life I have gained 30# in the last 4 years I need to take control I am hoping this program will help me put some common sense back into my thought process when eating and exercising. :-) Thanks for sharing BTW.
I just started week 5. After 2 weeks I was down 10.2# so was pretty happy with that. Then the 3rd week only dropped 1.8# & had a few outtings in week 4 which lead me to fall off the wagon & I gained 4#. So back on track yesterday and I think the 4# gain was from too much crap over a short period of time. I was down another 2# this morning.
As with other programmes, it works if you follow it. I stuck to the book the first 2 weeks, then went online and experimented with some of members recipes and some were pretty good. Like adding eggwhites to oatmeal - that has helped with breakfast.
Good luck on this & wish there were more people to talk with about the programme. I am going to gym for my exercise & haven't tried any of theirs yet. Let me know how you do.
Just got my kit and am gonna put it together today. Just scanning through the material..so much to go through - they sure give you enough stuff to help you through your journey. I'll try to check in as much as I can, possibly each day. I'm a Lifetime member of WW, but of course I gained my weight back by not keeping up with good habits and meetings. I think human connection during weight loss is essential! My problem is (ok, I'll say it!) laziness. I need to face my issues and deal with them once and for all. I'm a 60-year old wife, mom, grandma who wants to get healthier. Admit looks are a factor, too, but not as much as wanting to live longer.
