129.4 this morning. Hoping I'll stay here for a while.

I am starting to think I am neglecting my arms...they are starting to look "boxer-y" and off balance when I flex. The photo is a really really Myspace.com-y angle btw, proportionally my arms are probably the smallest part of me and look pitiful compared to my stubbornly thick torso

I weighed in at 119 today but it might be because my oil burner broke down and I was shivering all day waiting for the man to come fix it! I was using my fat stores for what nature actually intended them to be for....heat! It was 20 degrees outside and 50 degrees inside. I also think it's my TOM but with the hysterectomy and HRT I can't always pinpoint it. Anyway, the heat is fixed so I might venture into the kitchen now!

Lisa - Best way to lose weight has to be being too cold to go into the kitchen. Love that silver lining, but I'm glad you have heat again!

Krampus - Welcome back to the 120s! You're not allowed to leave us again until you're 119, hear? I don't know why you don't like your arms -- you're so toned! I had no muscle tone before I started working out five weeks ago, and I'm so happy with how things have tightened up in my legs and triceps that I'm almost okay with my pace of loss. But I'd definitely trade my arms for yours. :P

Also, Intervention, I'm sorry I skipped over your post earlier - you may be right about the egg yolks, but I get so much saturated fats from dark chocolate that I'm a little afraid of overdoing it. But more importantly, whole messes of egg whites help me keep my protein/fat balance in check. I have no problem getting enough fat in my diet since the dining hall cooks all my favorite veggies in them, so I go with egg whites or grilled chicken to balance it out nutritionally, that's all. And you get a LOT of them for the calories. Eight ounces of scrambled egg whites -- 100 calories worth -- is just a huge amount of food.

HAHA guys guys my arms don't actually look like that. There are still floppy bits and they are still pretty "big" in a relaxed state. I don't lift or anything, just pushups and planks. That is an EXTREMELY deceptive photo, but I'm honestly embarrassed about how I look. I guess I'm having a fat day.

i trust your judgement lackadaisy and pinkrunner. i just wanted to make sure no one is afraid of a lil yolk in their diets. i probably hate the idea of egg whites because, i'd either have to buy them as egg whites which are insanely expensive or buy eggs, and separate the yolk and throw them away and that'd break my heart. when i finally actually leave for a different college i hope i get a sweet plan like yours. and i agree with the idea of just having eggs instead of an egg sandy. ever since i went sandwichless in an effort to cut carbs, i've never missed em.

and ainselymom, that is my ultimate goal, to go organic with my meat, eggs, and dairy. because most organic meats would be grass-fed. they feed those mass produced animals hormones and corn so they get nice and fat, it'd only make sense that we would get some of those things as well which is not good. once i start making money i guess i can afford organic, but even then...i priced an organic pork chop...ten dollars. ugh.

and yo, krampus..my arms are huge. both fat and muscle. i have big triceps..and i have never done any workouts to make them so. and then..ugh my prom pictures. i wore a strapless dress and whenever i held my arm down to my side in a picture..well...flabtastic.

and i think when it comes to body parts, we always want what we can't have. i envy some apple shaped ladies for their lovely legs and i am sure the same apples envy me as a pear for my smaller waist. even celeries want some curves. and then hour-glasses (is there a produce shaped like that?) will probably have some qualms one way or the other.

anyway, Spring Break officially started for me today.

It is about candy craze time, but I'm holding steady. I have had 1290 calories today, so this means I can still have something else tonight. The problem is, I really want a snack, but I'm petrified of going into the kitchen right now for fear of indiscriminate grazing and losing control.
So I'm posting here. I have a paper to work on that I am neglecting because I'm tired and my brain isn't behaving, and also because I'm preoccupied with my snack. Wow, that sounds pretty pathetic.

interventionn, I love that summary. We do all want what we don't have, right? Hourglasses don't fit into most clothes. But as for a vegetable -- they're gourds, I think. Same thing with dining plans, by the way. I face a buffet with all my trigger foods at every single effing meal. You name the vice -- burgers, brownies, pasta, ice cream, pizza, cereal (only I'm addicted to cereal) -- I have to walk past it. Also, full meal plan is mandatory... and costs nearly $30 a day. I'm lucky that my parents pay tuition.

I COMPLETELY understand everything you posted here. A snack easily turns into two snacks and you know how that goes.

interventionn I'm totally on board the whole-egg thing. If I do an omelet it's usually 1 egg and 2 whites, or vice verse. I've always had really low cholesterol so it doesn't worry me.

ainsleysmom CONGRATS!!! What a great feeling. I'm always so impressed with people who are able to maintain a great healthy weight after pregnancy. This is something I'm quite concerned about being able to do myself when I get around to having kids, so thanks for the inspiration.

krampus, Crystal, lackadaisy, dilynnlew my saddlebags make me look super dumpy (esp because I'm already short) and they draw attention to my hips/thighs every time I walk. I can't wear shirts that don't run long because they only accentuate things, and I will never look good in skinny jeans. I'd be ok with sending a bit of fat from my thighs to my stomach. Grass is always greener, right?

Lisa LOL with the heat and fat storage. Way to shiver those pounds off!

krampus my arms always have this floppy thing below them- I believe someone called them batwings once, which cracked me up. When I flex they turn into giant triceps though. I rock-climbed competitively for a few years and will never have lovely slender lady forearms, haha. Oh well. Just another part of my body I've grown to accept.

120.4 today...so close!

I have been using dumbbells for a while now...has really helped firm up my arms and get rid of those "batwings". I am pretty happy with how my arms look now...will even go sleeveless in the summer...and at my age that is saying something!
Krampus....your arms look great!

Lisa....119...nice job!

Thank you everyone! Weighed in at 118.5 this morning but almost couldn't read the numbers cause I took my glasses off, my hair thingie out, anything that could add an ounce, lol!!!! Do you think other people stalk this board and think we are a bunch of crazies? Anyway, I am hoping this number sticks but I am not holding my breath.

Krampus, you look great!
Dilynnlew - way to go!
Daisy - I am with you on the more bang for your buck egg white deal...however, there are days I have two whole eggs if my fat consumption is low. I can't let go of "low fat" even though I am trying to think "lower carb." Must be because I am a product of the 1980's!
Ashley - let me know how that Turbo Fire is...I just got the Zumba party and I love it. I really do have my own party with Beto!
Ainsleymom- your baby is adorable and kudos on the weight loss. I was 172 pounds after the birth of Madison. Oh yeah. 4 feet 11 inches. I saw a pic of me wearing black pregnancy overalls and a white turtleneck. I looked like Danny Devito (sorry Mr. Devito) as the Penguin.
Interventionn - enjoy the break!
Pinkrunner- I hear you on the snack thing. I try and leave room at night in the calorie budget but it can be scary as I lose control easily. So my daughter turned me on to Angry Birds and it occupies me so my hands are not free to reach for her sour patch watermelons.

As for "batwings" - my great grandmother was about 4'9" tall, straight off the boat from Italy. She was also about 4'9" across, as well. You can only imagine the arms. As a small child, I thought what a great hiding spot her folds would have been for hide and seek. I was too afraid to approach her for fear of being swatted by her triceps. She never. got. off. her. chair. Like an Italian old lady version of Jaba the Hut. Her diet consisted of Lorna Dunes and macaroni. So, I wonder where I get my carb addiction, my lack of height, my chubby arms, and my slow metabolism from. However, I have great hair and big brown eyes, so that is something!

Have a great weekend everyone! My daughter is a cheerleader and we have the pep rally and basketball tournament this weekend so I won't be around and will miss checking in. Pinkrunner I will be thinking of you. They sell all kinds of crap at these things...airheads, ring pops, swedish fish, baked goods, soft pretzels, etc. I plan on bringing my almonds mixed with 1/2 cup fiber one cereal. The original one that Madison says looks like doodie. Nice, huh?
