Melissa, this is a great place, I love it, it is actually the first place that I have ever posted or been a part of anything like this....
I do still have a lot of questions about how all this works, like the abreviations DH and DD, I wondered if the DH stands for "da Husband"? ha , or the first letter of the name....anyway, call me dumb, I'll catch on to all this sooner or later.
gotta go, have to get ready for the Youth group to come over.
Laurie~ You almost have me convinces it would be a good idea. We live in the city so he wants to get one that goes up to 60mph. It kinda worries me though. I see a lot on the streets more often now. I would just ride it to the gym and anywhere close.
Gary~ Ill be keeping my fingers crossed for them. Its exciting and nerve wrecking at the same time. I will be super careful if we get them cause it makes me a little nervous.
Trish~ Its not a dumb question. I didnt know what it was until i joing 3FC. Its called C25K for Couch to 5K. Its a 9 week program that will get you running a 5k in 2months. if you go to coolrunnings.com you can check it out. There are also lots of threads here about it. Thanks you for those kind workds of wisdom. I needed that. I need to believe so i can achieve whatever i put my mind to.
Melissa~ Hello and welcome! This is a great place to be. Lots of advice and warm people here.
Rennie~ Ill be keeping you and your little bella in my prayers
Elizabeth~ DH means Dear Husband. DD-Dear daughter...son and so on
Going to a barbaque tonight for a friends birthday. There will be a cornhole tournament. Im not so good at it, but it will still be fun. Next week is my birthday and my boyfriend has a surprise planned for the weekend. Im excited cause he usually takes me on a mini-vacation. I will be excited to find out what it is. Also the morning of my b-day my best friend is taking me to get a pedicure. Its a week away and im already excited! Hopefully it cools down a bit cause right now it is SUPER hot and SUPER sticky out. I can deal with the hot but when it gets all humid it is no fun. Happy Wednesday!

Elizabeth - I'm the same way. I keep promises and do things for others, but have a hard time if it is for me. I have slowly changed that behavior as much as possible. We need to treat ourselves with the same love and courtesies that we reserve for others. Keep at it - congrats on the ice cream victory!!! AWESOME!
Oh - HERE is a list of some of the abbreviations used on 3FC. It took me a while to figure them all out when I started too!
Gary - keeping you and your family in my prayers - I hate it when Dan has to be gone overnight - I can't imagine having him gone as much as you are. I know Angie is used to it, but still - it must be hard. Congrats on seeing 173 today
Shy - thanks for the update on Bella - she is in my prayers. Since they can't talk, it is so hard when pets are sick. I'm so glad that your health is doing better and that you are losing again. Your patience and perseverance are so inspiring!
Carol - those pesky mosquitoes LOVE me - I hope you haven't gotten all the nasty rain storms we have had in MI lately. My garden weeds are absolutely monstrous!
Melissa - We love new folk! This is a GREAT thread with amazing Christian folk who are awesome to hang out with. Like Shy, I count calories and try to work out daily. I walk and do DVD workouts (pilates, dance, fitness ball, yoga, resistance bands). During the winter I replace walking outside with WATP videos. For me calorie counting is the only way I can lose weight. Portion control and flexibility are key.
Trish -
I actually do tomatoes and peppers in big pots. If you don't get your boxes made, they are a good interim solution. Particularly nice in the fall when you can just move them out of harms way if it frosts
Courtney - before you decide on a scooter, do some research about the laws in your state. Each state is different. In MI, anything that goes under 30 mph and is less than 50ccs can be registered as a moped and doesn't need a special license or insurance. Anything bigger is considered a motorcycle. Also, think about how/where you would use it. For me, I live in town where the speed limit on most roads is 25-35 mph. Thus, a moped is perfect. But, I wouldn't want to be riding it very far on major highways.
I hope everyone is having a great week! Take care! Prayers ascending!
Not much new since we talked last! nephew went out..NO KIDDING...with friends to a bonfire at the beach so the house is quiet. Angie is reading behind me. Had a great salad for dinner. Did 3 miles on the treadmill after work, Angie took the dogs out for 3.3 miles then a class of yoga...probably why she is dozing and reading at the same time
MELISSA ~ stick around you will should like it here!
SCOOTER ~ I think it gives Angie a nice break from me
COURTNEY ~OK...born and raised here in southern California but my parents families are all from Ill. so I should know this but I don't.. WHAT IS A CORNHOLE TOURNAMENT?
ELIZABETH ~ I am a DH...darn husband
RENNIE ~Shy I am glad Bella is better....neighbors just got a part yellow lab puppy...Bella...my sil and bil's dog is a german shepherd...Bella!
TRISH ~You will ALWAYS be mom!!
RONNI ~
KRISTI ~ Angie and I do a lot of things together but we have our "me" time too!
CAROL ~
WILMA ~ SUE ~ KAREN
I noticed our old friend LORI...momto5sweeties...had a birthday today. She hasn't been around for quite awhile. I think we should all send up a prayer for her!
I've only been gone for a week and there's 5 pages of posting since then. Awesome! It's been kind of nuts around here lately. We seem to be running a bed and breakfast. No charge of course!! There's always company here. I do love it but I also look forward to a weekend alone again.
Tomorrow (yes a Thursday) I am taking the afternoon off and attending a wedding. I need the break from work and will really enjoy the wedding. The reception is outdoors so we're really hoping for nice weather.
Not much else happening around here. I will try to post more often and keep myself accountable.
HI EVERYONE ~ we are sure getting quite a large group here, but that's great too. We had a terrific FLASH THUNDERSTORM last night that fried my modem in my newer PC, so I spent the day trying to figure out what was wrong.
Finally a call to a Techie from our Server, explained that our PC's MUST BE 'UNHOOKED' from the internet jack and 'UNPLUGGED' from the electrical outlets during storms or you'll end up with damage like we did. Apparently, our 'SERGE PROTECTOR' is not enuff to stop those kinds of SUPER FLASHES. We had FUNNEL CLOUDS, but thankfully they didn't turn into a tornedo like they thought it would.
ANYHOW, I have to use our old PC which is slow as a snail right now, but it will do in a pinch. We've had so much rain that our QUEEN ANNE'S LACE are about 3-4 feet high; the weeds are doing better than the garden, but it doesn't look too bad though. The garden should catch up by early fall; we had a late season here becuz it snowed at the end of May.
SHY ~ I prayed for BELLA; glad her fever is going down and now we'll pray for her appetite to return too.
Sounds like everyone else is doing pretty good; I got some pics but it will take a while to get them downloaded, sorted, and edited, as I have to get this modem thing sorted out first.
LORI ~ I am also praying for LORI with the kiddies (twin girls and AJ who broke his arm) as she also needed to sell her house like KAREN; hope things have worked out for her.
Just wanted to check in for now; take good care, your fellow encourager ROSEBUD^^PRAYERS^^ continue for all ...
Carol, Ah the horse flies are awful and the sweat bees....it's too bad those little guys can't do more of the work for us. I live pretty much right in the middle of the state. How about you??
mj, Welcome to you. The people here are wonderfully supportive. Post often and soak it up.
Trish, I hear you on the busy part. It's getting harder and harder to find the me time I so desperately need. I'm not quite ready for school to start again, but ask me again in a week! lol Maybe it's a good thing your hubby didn't get your boxes made. A garden would be another "have to." Hang in there. We're all crazy some days.
ElizabethM, This is a terrific site with a lot of encouragement. DH is dear husband, DS dear son, when they put WTAP the poster is refering to the Walk Away the Pounds exercise dvd's...it was all very knew to all of us at one time or another. I still have to ask for clarification too! lol Hang in there, it's a lot easier than Junior High was lol umm, laugh out loud....
Candykisses, It sounds like you have a lot of fun planned. Enjoy it!!
Countingdown, I hope everything is good with you and your's too.
Wilma12, Your life sounds like a good kind of busy. Enjoy the wedding.
Rosebud, Ah you're so much smarter than me. When I had computer trouble, after a storm, last week I never thought to plug in the old reliable that sits upstairs for the children's games....silly me! Hope everything else is going well for you.
Rennie, Keeping Bella in my prayers.
Not much knew here either. It's still baseball, baseball, baseball...but I'm still loving it and I still have a couple inches of face that have no "sun spots." Prayers for all. Have a great Thursday
Laurie~ Yea i think you are right. Im not sure what the laws are in ohio, but in Toledo i cant get very far on side roads. He wants 150cc's so i would need insurance and a special license.
Gary~ Sounds nice to have a quiet relaxing night. Cornhole is a game that looks like.... http://files.turbosquid.com/Preview/...366ecLarge.jpg (umm if anyone can coach me on how to turn a link into like one word or something. [Laurie i know did it earlier i think] i would GREATLY appreciate it!) Anyway there are 2 boards and 4 players. 2 players to a team and each player gets 4bags. The cornhole boards are like 6ft away from eachother and you toss the beanbags and try to get them in the hole. you get 3 points if the bag goes in the hole and 1pt if the bag lands on the board. If you have 1bag on the board and your opponent gets a bag on the board in the same round it cancells out. Goes up to 21pts. We do a tournament bracket (like basketball) and the winner gets a prize. Its pretty fun and im no good, but thats okay.
Wilma~ Enjoy the wedding. Umm i need a vacation you mind if i come join the bed and breakfast at your place .
Rosebud~ Ummm. That was like a forien language to me. Im no good with computers. I can turn them on and thats about it. Hope it all works out for ya.
Lovnmom~ I had a busy night. Heck i have a super busy next 2 weeks. Have fun at the baseball games. Dont foeget your sunscreen.
Tonight after work i will be taking a quick nap then off to the premier of batman at midnight. SO glad i dont have to work on firday cause after last night i am super tired. I will bring a snack to the movies cause i know that if i dont i will get icecream or an icee and popcorn and that is NO good. Hmmm i know there was just recently a thread about movie thaetre snacks. Off to search. Happy Thursday

Just a real quick fly by. Bella is a bit better. Her temp is down to 100.6. She is drinking a bit of water on her own but still won't eat. Poor little mite must think I am horrible. If I am not putting something in one end of her I am putting something in the other end of her lol. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers. I felt so bad for her and they really aren't sure what is wrong. Now if I can just get her to drink more water and to eat things will be ok. She is up and moving around at least. Not running to much yet but does go about the house behind me. I have to put her in the den and close the door when I have a a few things to do at one time because I am afraid she is going to wear herself out following me around.

Hi all - a quick fly-by. Doing well, weathering the rain as much as possible. I gotta get out to the garden and tackle the weeds before they are taller than I am!
Shy - glad Bella is doing better.
Wilma - LOL, although it is extra work - what a blessing to have so many people that want to spend time with you! I hope you get some rest between visits though!
Courtney - enjoy the movie!
Rosebud - glad you are safe and the weather wasn't worse!
Hi to Carol, Erin, Trish, Gary, Melissa, Elizabeth and everyone else!
Ok, all you 3fc faith based support group people, I need prayer, and I need it now. I sit here crying as I'm typing this, I'm so fed up. There are people in my church and on the praise team with me who are dead set on being "in charge", they want to call the shots about who comes and goes. They are trying to get the worship leader fired and are stirring up all sorts of trouble, I have just had it. Let me tell you, I am not one to keep my mouth shut after suffering 12 years of abuse at the hands of my first husband and before that my parents, but I have held my tongue with these people to try to maintain some sense of unity. I am now on the verge of an all out verbal lashing. I think the elders need to ask these people to leave the church and refer to the book of Titus as their inspiration. I told my DH, if someone doesn't do something about them soon, I'm leaving the church, and yes, I know that is not the answer, but I can't sit back and watch them bash people and sabotage whoever they try to bring in as pastor. Please pray for the church and for me, I'm sick to my stomach with this.
I've ate well today considering the current circumstances but I don't feel like exercising, at all. Helped DH hang a new ceiling fan that weighed a ton and the wiring was all screwy so it took time and time and time again of putting it up before we got it right, but its working now. So maybe that could be my workout cause my arms were shaking and I was sweating like crazy.
Candy, I bought DH a cornhole game last year for Fathers Day and we've only got it out a handful of times but we do enjoy it.
Shy, glad to hear she's getting better, would help if she would drink more I'm sure but when she's ready she'll eat and drink.
just, hope you get your computer problems worked out soon, it can be very frustrating.
gotta get going, Mr. Destruction ( he lived up to his nickname in a big way today!) has another baseball game tonight for the championship. : cheer:
cc
I am so sorry you are going through this. Many a time this kind of thing causes people to leave a church and go to another church. I have no idea why people care more about being in charge than they do about how their actions effect the whole congregation. I will keep you in my prayers.
CC-I will pray for you. I believe it is a terrible thing to cause division in the church. When we want our own way we loose our effectiveness. We do not realize the concept of sacrifice for each other. Control and selfishness are such human traits, but also so worldly. If we all treated each other the way that we should and gave up our own rights for the rights of others, the church would be much more the way that it is supposed to be!
Pray for me as well, I am traveling to Indiana tomorrow.
Haven't eaten any ice cream, but still need to figure out what will work here cause so far I haven't lost any weight.
