Countingdown - So true! It is always easier to not only help others but TAKE care of others more than we take care of ourselves!

Someitmes, it's actually good to be a little bit selfish and put our own health first!

Cool

Justwannabe - thanks for the words of encouragement.

Just this morning I was thinking how much I miss singing at church. But I have this hang-up about standing in front of the whole church with this sign on me that says, "I have no self-discipline and I do not treat my body like the temple of the Holy Spirit"

It's really weird because I'm not really someone who is usually guilt ridden...but this weight stuff has really got my mind, body and spirit all outta wack! That's why it is so important for me to do something about this and send the devil packin'

Rosebud - hope you enjoyed your day and that lunch was scrumptious and OP

beffle - If you like to sing in church, you need to SING, girl! If all of us waited to use our gifts and graces to glorify God until we were closer to what he wants us to be - we would never get anything done.

It is a journey - and you are moving closer to where you want to be each day. Please, don't wait any longer!

It will be hard at first - but you CAN do it!

We will be praying for you!

Hi to everyone else - I hope you are having a blessed day!

We are going away for the weekend, so I may not be back posting until late Sunday.

Stay cool and OP and prayers are continuing for all

Been busy cleaning in the house and doing some yard work and mowing. Need to get my hind end in gear and get my run done before I start feeling too tired to do it. I did that last night, scrubbed floors and woodwork for 3 hours then I was worn out from that and the day in general to hop on the treadmill. I'm gonna have to use the treadmill for a few days cause my legs are killing me, hoping hoping by giving them a break from the asphalt and concrete that they'll get to feeling better soon.

Haven't been sleeping much lately, and I've been just a little grouch the last day or two. I've got to get in bed early and get some good sleep, I just get so busy in the house at night, time simply gets away from me. My brother and his girlfriend are getting married tomorrow, so I've got to try to get all my stuff here done so I don't have to worry about heading home early to finish it. I know that sounds crazy but I'm singing on Sunday, so I have practice on Sat. and little DS is in an all star tourney about an hour from home on Sat. & Sun, and I am supposed to help with a post-prom bake sale and bbq on Sun. HA, HA, HA. Its ridiculous, HELP!

Wilma, glad to hear the kids got off ok.

beffie, I agree with counting, if you feel God is leading you to serve in that way and thats one of the gifts He has given you, then you should do it. Maybe, through that He can encourage you to do other things, like give you the confidence and strength to deal with this "weight stuff".

Gotta go run, literally, have a beautiful evening. trish

Hi Gals ~

Well I am home alone for a few days, well not exactly, knucklehead nephew is here but mostly NOT HERE! Angie is off to see her mom and sister until Saturday night.

I've had a few days off and short days this week. I have a lot of work coming up so it's nice to get a pre-break before it starts

TRISH ~I hope you get that run in...maybe ease that stress a bit Sounds like you have a full plate! have a good time at the wedding!

SCOOTER ~I hope you have a great get away! I told you that might happen on that other thread

BEFFIE ~I hope the singing works out for you real soon. My wife, Angie plays in our bell choir at church and just loves it. It is quite a commitment though, I am sure the time will come when she needs a break. Lucky for our singers we have a choir loft where they sing from...in the back of church! However, we have 2 screens that we show them on in front of the church! Good to see you here.

INSPIRED ~ HI!

ROSEBUD ~ I hope you had a great day of shopping and had a nice lunch! did you get that housework done?

COURTNEY ~Our cornhole game came yesterday. Nephew thinks he and his buddies are going to play this week-end. Looks like fun! Hope your boyfriend is feeling better.

WILMA ~Good for the kids. I know it's hard to see them "grow up"...I am so glad mine are still close enough to drive to in an hour or less.

RONNI ~ Glad about those migraines Our golden retrievers shed buckets of fur! I vacuum under/over everything!

AUNT SUE ~Continued prayers for your bil and his dad

Have a great evening everyone!

Just popping in on the last day of the month. The baseball season is finally over. I'm looking forward to August. We'll be able to have much more, much needed, family time. I was really pleased to get a good amount of exercise this month and a 3# loss. I can't remember the last time I lost more than a pound a month. I'm feeling pretty good today. Thanks for always being here!!
I'm continuing prayers for all.
God's blessings!

HELLO EVERYBODY ~ Well, we did have a great day shopping; wore my feet off. The rain held off to just after we got home and brought in all the groceries and stuff. DH was happy: I bought him a new pair of long-handled grass-cutting shears, so that "I" can cut around "my" trees, so that "he" won't mow them down; and ... I bought him a new shovel to make his sand-shovelling chores much easier too ~ LOL!

I don't know why I bought DH that gas-powered weed-whacker a few years back, becuz he hardly uses it anymore. He got it started, but didn't use it for some reason. Psst ... I really know why, but he doesn't know that I know why he won't use it: becuz it hurts his shoulders and arms too much, and he doesn't want to tell me that ~ LOL! Male pride, I guess ... Don't tell him that I told you about this, OK?

Speaking of men, HI GARY ~ I'm sure I did a 5K today; and we plan on going to the lot tomorrow (no rain please), so I'll try to walk around our loop too, so I know I'll have done a 5K or two for sure: I hope this all counts, right? Yeppers, got some laundry and housework done yesterday; and walked my poor feet off today ...

COUNTING ~ thanks; we brought home some BBQ SPIT CHICKEN for dinner instead; and the lunch was not that inspiring: we waited until we got home, so I had a toasted whole wheat English muffin with cheddar cheese. I call this a "CHEESE MELT" and they are so good, but not too bad in calories, either: my sister taught me this one, so let's blame her, OK???

WE GOT ANOTHER SUPER DEAL today on some more BRIDAL WREATH SPIREAS ~ the nursery was having a clearance sale, so we picked up enuff to make a hedge all the way to the end of the lot. The sale was 75% off for $3.25 each and she gave us ONE FREE BUSH for every one we bought today, so we got another 10 bushes (for about only $2.00 each including taxes). I'm sure that will be more than enuff; and it seems that DH really likes deals like this, as he was actually coaxing me to buy more of them at that price ~ LOL!!!

OH, TRISH ~ Have you ever heard of this word ... NOooo !!! You are running yourself ragged, girl! You need to learn how to delegate or let someone else do their share, as you are way overbooked for this weekend ...

LOVINMOM ~ I'm so glad for you that you lost another 3 pounds this month: hey, that's better than nothing, and it will add up over time too!

DEAR BEFFIE ~ may GOD bless you as you find your way to where you want to be ...

to IAMINSPIRED!!!

HELLO TO ALL OUR OTHER FRIENDS AND MIA's too ...

Have a great weekend, your fellow encourager ROSEBUD ^^PRAYERS^^ continue for all ...

ROSEBUD you bet it counts! Anyway to get 3.1 miles in works for us!

Did I ever tell you about the time I mowed down 50 feet of Angie's Dusty Miller plants on purpose....'cause I was mad?

I still feel the wrath from that one!

Default Hello, is this seat taken?

Hi! I am new to the site and you all sound wonderful. It's inspiring to see so much progress on your "number lines!" I'm just beginning my weight loss journey. There's about 90 pounds of cake and ice cream that are about to get going! Very glad to have run across this site. It appears to offer much support!

smallworld You CAN do this. It is amazing what wonderful Christian support the folk here provide. They really do make the difference! Keep posting and let us know how you are doing!

Gary - shame - mowing down helpless plants? Glad you have that anger under control now. And - your weight too! My, how you've matured

Rosebud - yes - men and their pride ... The cheese melt sounds very healthy and TASTY!!! Gread idea. I use light, multi-grain English muffins for SOO many things. They are a wonderful, wonderful thing

Trish - I'm tired just reading your post! You are in my prayers, girl!

OK, I'm off to bed - I just missed you all, already

Have a GREAT weekend all!

Post Hello From Canada

Hi! I am new here. I posted my introduction on the 40's site - then I found this one. I have been a Christian for 15 years now. I like to see the struggles and victories that others go through - it is a real encouragement to me. I look forward to getting to know you all on this site.
