Hi, everyone! I've been keeping all your prayer requests close to heart even though I haven't had time or felt like posting. Migraine(you might have seen my question in general chatter) is starting to lessen up a bit and no nausea since yesterday evening. So, now I'm trying to catch up.
Wilma-prayers for the uhaul. My sis and bil had a similar problem with them once-all the furniture on the yard and the people scheduled with the truck before them never returned it. They had to move all the stuff back into the house and didn't get a truck until two days later! Praying that your kids get theirs much sooner
Courtney-glad your bf is not hurt too seriously. That must have been very scary for both of you. Hope he heals quickly!
Karen-taking a walk with a wolf is something one of our friends would loooove to do, but not me! Glad you were able to get back out and enjoy your walking!
Gary-sounds like you had a great party and are really enjoying your summer!
I am inspired-
Erin & Rikki-I sure understand being frustrated with diets and angry at the scale! not having much success myself lately, but at least I'm not back up to my old weight. What is the 'I am doing it myself diet'? Or, maybe that's your own plan, but glad you're doing better!
Hi and blessings to everyone else, too! We had a nice potluck at church Sunday-also a fundraiser for the HS youth group-they provide the sandwiches and it's just a free-will offering but the whole church was there and they sure support the kids so they can go do mission work. It was really nice to see. Then, we had to go to a company picnic later in the day-what a change in attitude. Hard to watch the kissing-up. Don't know how DH stands it day after day. Fortunately, we had an excuse to leave early as one of the boys had youth group later. Would have left anyway, as we just aren't on the list of people that are important enough to actually be spoken to at social events! Don't know how people like that live with themselves, but they don't really have the same moral compass we have, ya know!
Of course, that's when the 3rd migraine of the weekend hit and now I'm in catch-up mode, but really that's not much of a change, since I'm almost always behind in something or other! My sister and her boys are coming Thursday for about a week since they sold their house and can't move into the new one yet. Planning a trip to Valleyfair one day while they're here. All the boys are excited (2 for her and 2 for me) Ought to be an interesting day! Have a great day everyone. And, even when struggling with the eating plans and weight, don't forget Who loves us more than His own life and doesn't look at our outsides but only at our hearts. Hugs to you all!
Hello everyone! I'm new to this site...in fact I just stumbled on it today! It looks great and everyone seems so supportive. My problem is that I find myself just as James 1 says...."double minded" about weight loss. On one hand I'm the biggest I have ever been and I feel awful! On the other hand, I want what I want when I want it! I'm addicted to Dr. Pepper, and as crazy as this sounds, believe that the Holy Spirit told me to quit it over a year ago. I did great for awhile and didn't even miss it. Then I had "just one" and then another and another and before long...I'm back to drinking a 44 oz. DP a day!! :
I need help! What is really bad, is that I'm a Christian Counselor and I help other people make personal changes ALL the TIME!!! But when it comes to myself
Anyway, thanks for reading. I really believe that just by reading all the posts on here, I can become inspired to actually do something about this. I just want to be able to climb a flight of stairs again without gasping for air!
beffie- This is a great place with lots of support. I completely understand the pop addiction (mine's to Coke). I know we can whip it with God's help and get healthier and healthier. Keep coming back!
Wilma - prayers ascending! Let us know how they are doing!
ronni - prayers for you and your health! I hope you are feeling better soon!
I work with a few people like your husband does too. I feel sorry for them, actually. They obviously don't have a clue what real life and happiness are about. Servant mentality? Bet they wouldn't know what we were talking about!
Beffle - Why IS it that we can help everyone but ourselves?
I had today off so I washed my truck. Evidently, while I was in the bed hosing it out we had an earthquake, my wife and nephew came running out and said it was pretty good then the mail lady pulled up and she felt it too. I missed it not like I haven't felt them before though! It wasn't close to us, about 75 miles away. I guess my truck has good suspension!
WILMA ~Prayers for the kids.
BEFFIE ~Welcome!
RONNI ~I'm sorry the company pic-nic wasn't too good but thanks be to God the church one was! Prayers for those migraines
ALL YOU NEW KIDS JUST JUMP RIGHT IN! That's how we all started. Feel free to share anything you feel comfortable with...family, job, prayers needed, ANYTHING at all!
Well Angie and I are going to a new pizza joint, that opened about a mile away, when she gets home from yoga. WISH ME LUCK
BEFFIE ~ I used to think that you had to have your own life in almost perfect order before you could help someone else; but the Lord has impressed upon me that isn't so ... actually, often when we reach out to help someone else, we will be blessed ourselves in the process! I think that is very true, at least from my own experience.
Sometimes, I think we are all too hard on ourselves: in that we expect too much 'PERFECTION' from ourselves, and sometimes our families. I think it's more important to do the best we can, and let GOD do the rest; or I would spend all my time, beating myself up, and that doesn't help anyone, esp me. I'm very glad that I learned this lesson, I try to find ways to help others all the time, which is what Christ wanted us to do, which is a good thing ... right Martha? ... LOL ...
BTW ~ can you get diet DR. PEPPER, or do you want to stop altogether? We buy bottled water here (as our tap water leaves a metal taste in our mouths from too much iron/metals), and now I only have one coffee a day, and hardly drink pop much anymore; this wasn't intentional, I just liked the water so much that over time, I just stopped drinking the other stuff. I do have at least one tea in the evening and at most, one diet soda of some kind once in a while.
WILMA ~ have prayed that the kiddies get that U-haul truck before the long weekend, tomorrow would be a good day. It almost seems like they overbooked or like someone said, someone didn't return a truck on time.
RONNI ~ prayers for thoses migraines: not nice to have at all.
GARY ~ oh, that's not a bad size and with a good size deck area and games stations, lots of room to entertain guests. Our day started off not bad but it got hot mid-afternoon so we came back around 5 pm. Hope we can get one more nice day this week. DH is doing great; has that foundation 2/3's done already. My Dad and I worry that he will overdo it (as always) but I'm keeping a very close eye on him. I won't let him go by himself, or he will overdo it for sure; and he is ahead of schedule already.
HELLO TO COUNTING, INSPIRED, and RIKKI (come back often), plus all our other friends here!
We planted one of the BRIDAL WREATH SPIRIA bushes today at the lot beside our girl's resting spot; we have one for each side. They should look really good; my research says that they grow pretty quickly and tall too (about 10 feet) with long, cascading white blooms.
Hope you all have a blessed week; your fellow encourager ROSEBUD^^PRAYERS^^ continue, as always ....

I hate when I don't set aside time to check in everyday, I miss so much and it takes forever for me to catch back up. We went back to Nashville yesterday for DS to take his ACT again and HALLELUJAH he raised the score and got a good sized chunk of scholarship for it, I'm more than a little happy about it. We had to open him a checking account and work out some more of the financial aid stuff after his test. I took little DD with me and I'm still sitting here wondering what I was thinking. She drove me crazy by the time we got done eating I had to drive 85 all the way home so I could get back in time for the elders meeting. Which, by the way, went very well. My friend and I gave a different perspective to them about the worship leader, I know he's not perfect but he's got a fantastic heart for worship.
to all you wonderful newbies!!!
Karen, I know that must've been scary but as I was reading about the wolf I thought Wow thats really cool, I'm sure it wasn't for you though. But hey, you have a really cool story to tell.
Gary, when I was a kid we used to do lots of awesome family activities and then there was a big family feud when my grandmother died over $$$$ and no more family time. Now the only times we ever all get together is when someone dies. I try to do family stuff here as much as I can but its very hard on me. So glad that you had a great time!
candy, I would love to go away with just my DH for a few days, not have to worry about anything, and just relax. If I get the chance I'll make sure it doesn't involve boats or knives, just to be on the safe side. Like Karen, you now have an interesting tale to tell, I bet its a vacation you'll not soon forget. I'm glad you were able to enjoy most of the trip.
Ronni, I know all about the headaches and you bet I'm praying for you, those boogers are no fun, no fun at all.
Gotta go put the little ones in bed before I totally lose all my marbles.
Prayers for all, thanks for being here when I need to

Rosebud - such wisdom in your post! A lesson that comes home to me over, and over again!!
We have a whole hedge of Bridal Wreath Spiria - they are absolutely GORGEOUS - they will grow quickly and look absolutely amazing! If I can find the picture I took this spring, I will post it - what a wonderful choice!
Hey, all! Woke up today and the migraine is gone! Praise the Lord!
Thanks for all the well wishes from all of you! Now I know for sure-NO MORE GARLIC! I'm going to be a pain in the butt now any time we go out, asking what's in this, what's in that.........Probably better for my waistline in the long-run
Now, I have to get down to business. Must mow 2 lawns today-fortunately, mom's is really small (and maybe, just maybe, I'll be able to get DS2 to do it,since DS3 is sick). Also, need to sweep (or that's vacuum for those of you who didn't grow up in southeastern IN!) because I've never seen any dog shed as much as ours is this year. I'd think she'd be bald by now as much as I've picked up so far! My little sister and the nephews will be here tomorrow, so I've just got to get the place cleaned up a little! Also, have PT for the back and think I'll take DS3 to Dr to check for ear infection ( he just sounds suspicious this morning after coughing all night-just one of those things particular to him).
Thank you all for your prayers. The kids got the UHAUL at the time they asked for it. To top it off they got a bigger truck than they asked for and it's a new one. God is so good! He does know our needs and responds to them.
Now we just pray for safety. They are taking 4 days to get to Ottawa so should get there by Saturday. They have lots of help unloading at that end.
We will miss them a lot but God has plans for them that we don't know about.
Wilma~ My prayers are going out to your kids for their safe trip.
Gary~ Umm WOW. LoL. I love CSI and Law & Order. I suppose your right it would have looked VERY suspicious. Great on getting cornhole. Hope you have lots of fun with it when you recieve it.
Rosebud~ Thank you. For the prayers. He is feeling a little better, but told me today that he is still in a lot of pain. He is super stubborn and wont go to the hospital though. Im praying that it isnt anything serious.
Ronni~ I hope you can get control of those migranes. Not sure what you have tried, but caffiene might ease it up a little bit. Have lots of fun with your sister and nephews.
Gotta cut it short. Time is flying by. Hello to Trish, Laurie, Inspired and Beffie. Happy Wednesday!
LOL - Ronni - I'm certain my dog is related to yours. I vaccum and within 10 minutes, the carpet has a white haze over it. How he can shed a thin layer of fine fur over the entire thing in 10 minutes is a mystery to me. I brush him for 30 minutes, pull out a garbage bag of fur, and he walks through the house 10 minutes later and there it is, AGAIN!
Wilma - prayers continuing for your kids! It is so hard to watch them drive away, and you miss them terribly - but, yes - they need to follow where they are led - even if it is away from us :sigh:
Trish - FANTASTIC news on the scholarship money It was well worth the retake!
Hope everyone is having a wonderful day!
Blessings to all, and prayers continuing!
HELLO EVERYONE ~ We've had wonderful answers to prayers this week: PTL!!!
COUNTING ~ thanks for those kind words. I checked and those SPIRIAS are supposed to get to be around 6-8 feet high and up to 10 feet wide (I had the figures mixed up); but boy, do they look beautiful. I may pick up some more if they have any left tomorrow and continue them down that side. Your hedge idea sounded like just what I need to hide some old buildings on another block behind our place.
COURTNEY ~ if your DB is still in pain after a few days or a week, you should really insist he go to the emerg; he could have something seriously wrong inside; now we hope not, but just in case. Will keep him in our prayers too.
RONNI ~ so glad the migraines are gone! Our NIKO lost a lot of hair this spring, but thankfully that has stopped now. At the time, we had the vacuum out 1-2 times a day; this may be a yearly event, we'll see ...
WILMA ~ PTL for the truck getting there on time and prayers for the kiddies on the road to an adventurous new life.
TRISH ~ Congrats to DS on the scholarhsip and PTL the elder's meeting went well: you did the right thing!
HELLO TO ALL OUR OTHER FRIENDS HERE; hope you are all having a great week!!!
We had rain all day here; perfect to get some indoor housechores done; and DH needed the rest too. Tomorrow, we are going to town for shopping and errands; and out for lunch too. A busy, but fun day for us really!
Take good care, your fellow encourager ROSEBUD ^^PRAYERS^^ continue for all ...
