Oh Level 2 how I loathe thee...if only you guys could see a pic of me right now!

AK812, I'm not going to lie 30DS is a beast if you're really out of shape like I am but you will shrink considerably if you stick to it with a proper caloric intake. I live in a condo but the floors/walls are sound proof.

Let me clarify that I didn't lose much scale weight because of the strength training but lost fat. I will post a mid-section pic later.

Exhale - Just the fact that you're so in tune with how different foods affect your mood & feelings means you are on the right track. Try not to beat yourself up too much. In the words of PhillyGirl, we are all human. I think that's prob the best advice anyone can give.

novangel - Thanks for the input on 30DS. I think I'm going to hold off on actually beginning 30DS and begin with some Gaiam cardio yoga I found on Hulu & do step aerobics as well. I haven't exercised in a couple of months so I'm thinking it might be better to start off slow. Are you doing the 30DS right now? Good luck to you!

Side question - anyone have experience doing step aerobics, either positive or negative? I don't do any fancy moves, I mostly just step up and down and do some steps to the side/back, but break a pretty good sweat and get my heart rate up when doing it for 40 minutes or so. Any recommendations as far as step routines to follow?

Hey everyone,

Ak18- im still on day 7 of 30 day shred, but I can tell you that I feel stronger already. I haven't exercised before this in like 2 years but it gets easier everyday and I think I will start level 2 on day 10
As for the jumping based moves, there is a lot of them..

Phillygirl- I've been having a problem with increasing my calorie intake to 1200. Since I have been trying my best to eat all healthy foods, it's hard to get to 1200 cal unless I eat something unhealthy, which i don't want to do. I'm stuffing myself with veggies and fruits all day, but it's still not enough calories! Maybe I should get the extra 200 from a cookie or something...

Exhale- that's a good outlook on chocolate, i wish I could think of that when I see something "chocolatey" it's my downfall every time

Level 1 day 7 30 D shred, I don't think I'll be doing any extra workout today.

Good luck everyone and keep moving

Ak18, gilad basic step, Kari Anderson beginners step and Cathe basic step are my fav step workouts. I don't like dancy moves either.

Angelsmom, [email protected].

Novangel, you've come so far. I'm certain you will conquer level 2.

I'm having a hard time getting going this morning. I'm literally on my tablet still in bed. It was cold when I woke up which didn't help with me moving. Heat is on warming up the air. Sigh

Angelsmom - Glad to hear you're having such success with 30DS! It's awesome that you're sticking with it and seeing results already. Good luck with moving up to L2 on D10, I'm sure you can do it!

PhillyGirl - Thanks for the step vid recommendations. I checked them out on YouTube and Gilad looks awesome and easy to follow. Have you ever done any of the Jenny Ford step routines? Hers are roughly 1 hr long and seem a bit more complicated, so wondering if you have any input on those. Good luck getting moving this morning - cold air is such a deterrent to exercise! The hardest part, at least for me, is always getting up and out of bed w/ the intention to exercise, so once you do that you've done the toughest chore already. Good luck getting moving today.

I have decided to spend my early AM pre-work time doing some cleaning before the boyfriend's parents get into town tonight. Already thinking of what we'll do with them over the weekend - they really like outdoors-y, hiking-type activities and I always dread those, as I am so out of shape. Hoping to one day look forward to a hike and not constantly be worried about looking like the fat girl who can't keep up with everyone else.

Have a beautiful Thursday, everyone!

The scenery in gilad's workouts are mostly outside in Hawaii which is a bonus. I have not done Jenny ford but she is online and on the resource list.

Haha...I think Gabi would say no way! I had that long a break with my program and I restarted. Mainly because I lost the momentum that she works to build to the next phase.

PhillyGirl - That's kind of what I thought. I was hoping I could keep on, but I figure its been a bit too long for that. lol

So we'll start over tomorrow with Day 1 again....

TGIF!!

Good Morning Everyone!

I had lots of rest yesterday and feel fabulous today. It's nice weather here today and I think I'll put some music on and take a lunchtime walk.

I hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning and Happy Friday.

Today's Pilates class. I realized that the reason that I'm not doing other than Pilates is that I don't want to be tired or sore on Pilates days, otherwise I'm not going to be able to do the work. So after this class I'm going to go once a week, so I can schedule in some more 'robust' workouts during the week, and take off the day prior to class so I'll be fresh for my session. Maybe down the road I'll have built myself up enough that I can go more often without being worried about soreness...

Have a great day and beautiful weekend...
