OMG!! OV!! I can gain weight just driving in front of that place!!

Here's a hint. Time that Fullbar to be eaten no more than 20-30 minutes before your meal is in front of you. Longer than that and I can overeat. Learned that the hard way. I'm thinking part of what makes FullBar keep me feeling full is the soy. Hmmm. I need to check on that.

Default Full Bar

Ok, so I thought this was a miracle product. I would love to have the surgery but I don't have insurance and can't pay for it myself. So I saw this infomercial and thought "GREAT!". So I got the Chocolate fullbar, Peanut Butter fullbar, all three flavors of the Fullbites (bbq, sour cream, cheddar) and also the Aquafull drink packets. I tried it for 3 days...nothing. First of all, they aren't really good. The bars taste like stale cereal and the fullbites actually made me nauseous and the drink was like kool aid without sugar. So that was wonderful right...anywho now I don't know if it is because I am really reeaally overweight or what but they didn't really fill me up, it was more of a really like I need to burp or like a bloating feeling and it lasted about 10 minutes. I don't know, maybe it was just me but I didn't see where it was this amazing product like it claimed. So I was really really disappointed because I had alot of hope riding on this stuff and now it is sitting in my dinning room in a box and I am on the couch with a Pepsi...

Pour that Pepsi down the drain and get some water! You know you wanna!

I'm sorry that those bars didn't do it for you, and thank you for your review. I've never had any luck with any sort of diet aid/meal replacement/weight loss supplement. I know others who have. Apparently this isn't the right approach for you. So find another! Veggies are pretty filling! *hint hint, wink wink!*

Repeat after me - "there are NO miracle products. There are no short cuts."

OK, now say it again. Let it sink in.

You are now ready to go surf 3FC to find a plan that works for you.

And, even though you didn't ask - here is my two cents. Calorie counting WORKS! It is free, and can be done for a lifetime.

We sell the Full Bars at GNC. We also sell Aqua Full, which is like a Crystal Light powder you add to water; and Full Bites, which is like a chip of some sort. I have tried the Full Bars and they don't work very well for me. But I have a pretty insatiable appetite! lol

They are basically made out of the puffed rice cereal, which expands slightly in the stomach with water, making you feel fuller. It's not rocket science, but some people buy entire boxes from us. I personally think it's too expensive - but the cereal and have some skim milk about an hour before your biggest meal! It's the same thing.

Default Just started

I bought the fullbars today at Sams Club. They only had one flavor, chocolate chip, but you get 15 bars for $16. I just finished eating one to see what they taste like, and I was shocked at how large it was. And it is a product that you really cant eat fast. It is like puffed wheat with a lot of chocolate and sticky like a rice crispy bar. I liked the taste and I really am not hungry now. I just had a glass of water with it. Wish I had waited until 30 min before dinner though! I have enough that I will have 2 a day. One before lunch and one before dinner and post back to let you all know how I do this week with it.

Oh yea...I have about 75 lbs to lose. If this can keep me from craving candy bars etc and helps me eat less during meals, then I will be happy!

Default Hungry-ness

OK, so I'm new here, I was actually researching the Full Bars when I came across this thread while my mom was at Costco getting the bars (as well as some other needed items) to see if they could be a substitute for lap band surgery so I could look good for my wedding. I've always been a healthy eater (at least for the most part) and I've always been pretty active. My main problem has been portion control and I tend to snack more than I should, and mostly at night. My goal is to fit into at least a size 16 dress (though I'm really trying for a 12) for my wedding which means I have a lot of weight to lose in a little less than a year. But anywho, back to the Full Bar info. I started them out with a 50/50 perspective. And, after 1 bar, 2 glasses of water, 30 min wait, and 2 packets of instant oatmeal... and 2 more glasses of water, guess what, I'm not full, and not really even that satisfied. Maybe it'll grow on me, they taste good, to me it's like eating chocolate Smacks. But I at least think they'll keep away my need for midnight munchies if I start feeling peckish after dinner. *hopes*

Are you counting calories? From my estimate, a full bar and 2 packets of oatmeal would be about 420 calories. It depends how many calories are in the packets of your oatmeal. 420 calories should be a solid fulfilling meal if you are eating high quality foods. My meals tend to be around the 200-300 calorie range but I also have a couple snacks throughout the day that help keep me satisfied.

Actually Nelie, it came to 480 and that SHOULD have been a very satisfying meal! But a nutritionalist I used to know always said, you can have (in my case) 4 bags of those 100 calorie snacks or over 10 cups of broccoli and be MORE than full! And I actually have a question for you Nel, how did you lose 162lbs and how long did it take you? I'm just curious because WOW, I'm really impressed

Annakitty - Yes, I agree, if you choose the wrong calories 400+ calories can be nothing. I think though without the Full Bar, you should be able to come up with a satisfying meal for the same amount of calories. It does take practice to come up with well rounded meals. I think I'd be more impressed with the Full Bar if it was less calories.

As for weight loss, my weight has come off in chunks. Basically I lost weight, maintained, lost more wait, maintained, then lost more and then maintained. It took me about 3 years to get where I'm at now. I basically just started eating better foods, cutting out sugars, cutting down on my fats but eating good fats, eating lots of veggies and limiting very starchy foods. South Beach Diet has been my general guideline for what foods to eat although I've never officially followed it for an extended period of time.

Hubby talked me into letting him try the fullbars and he seemed to like it so I bought a 3 month supply online - Was able to use my paypal debit card as a credit card so scored 1.5% cashback on that from them - So this should last about 6 weeks since there is 2 of us taking it

Today is my first day with them since we just got them last night

Gonna try Berry Bliss for lunch

its now 10:32am and I am about to open the bar up
Smell - Kinda reminds me of some sort of coffee blend
Looks - Appealing kinda like a rice crispy treat
Feels - sticky like a crispy treat and kinda flexible like one
Now lets move onto the biggy

This is Berry Bliss so lets see how blissful it tastes
Tastes - I mean its nothing to brag over but I gotta say it don't taste bad
And for those who know me you know how picky I am so

I have to say this scores a 4 out of 5

Just be sure to drink your 8 ounces of water with it

It's now 10:43 am and I have just finished my fullbars
I was taking my time eating little pieces like I would a crispy treat lol
Still think the taste is good and still drinking my water
For any of you who have eaten puffed cereal before thats pretty much what it is but with a little added flavor

Now the next test is to see how I feel in 30 minutes - I obviously feel a little less hungry because I have somethign in my stomach but I still feel like I could eat a horse so lets give it some time to kick and see what happens

So its 11:17 am right now - Not as hungry as I was but still hungry so I am not getting any of those eat the bar and not be hungry at all like I read some people had - So gonna go make a sandwich and see how I feel after that

ok its 11:36 and I ate a sandwich - Still feel kinda hungry but u know I didnt eat breakfast this morning and maybe I should make sure I start doing that

Also could be a bored hunger so not sure will see next meal

--------------------------

Next meal came

I ate 10 chicken nuggets from my freezer and 2 slices of garlic bread - i know i know not the healthy dinner but was long day and i didnt have energy to cook anything that i couldnt pop in microwave

However I am still getting my night cravings ended up wanting popcorn and more chicken nuggets - blah

Hoping after a few days these cravings start to deminish

Wanted to mention I bought the 2 month supply plus you get 1 month free so got a 3 month supply which came to 6 boxes of 24 which is 144 bars

I deposited $193.95 into my paypal account that I had a debit card with and used my paypal debit card to pay for my order which gave me $2.91 cashback so I only ended up paying $191.04 which brings the cost per bar from $1.35 to $1.33 per bar

I know I know big whoop to do over 2 cents per saving on each bar but hey in this economy I can use $2.91

BTW does anyone know if eating a few almonds at the same time as the full bar will help curb the appetite even more as I heard almonds help with appetite suppression

Also we can drink more then 8 oz of water with the bar right?

Hello, Chickies-

Full Bars are just a tool. Only that. The diet book written by the Full Bar creator says that we should do six things...
1. drink lots of water
2. try to stay away from "white" stuff like bread, pasta, rice.
3. eat five or six mini meals a day
4. make your meals at least 50% protein (which makes you feel fuller and stays with you longer that other foods.)
5. eliminate sugary drinks like soda and fancy coffees
6. watch your fats. Your body needs fats but stay away from fried food.

Full Bars work for me. My sister had weight loss surgery almost a year ago. Guess what? Her weight loss doctor gave her the same guidelines to follow.

Full Bars work if you eat mindfully. Listen to your body. It will tell you that you have had enough food.

I sound like I work for Full Bars but I don't. I just think that for them to work for anyone, they must be used as tools. Not a magic bullet. Follow the six guidelines along with the bars and you will see progress.

My only issue with full bars is for what they are supposed to do, I think they are way too many calories. I bought some from Costco and I think they are useful if I get stuck in a bind where I'm hungry and don't have food but I wouldn't use them to eat before a meal.

For the amount of calories in a full bar, I could have:
1) 2 apples (or 1 large banana or 2 pieces of other various fruit)
2) a sandwich with small amount of hummus and some veggies
3) a good portion of hummus and veggies for dipping
4) a cup of soup, depending on the soup, I could also have a piece of toast with it
5) (soy for me) nearly a cup of yogurt with 1/2 cup of blueberries
6) a pretty decent veggie salad with some beans on top and a low calorie salad dressing (Galeo's is my rec for salad dressing)

Also, if the guidelines are 5-6 mini meals per day, mini-meals are generally considered to be around 200-300 calories. If a full bar is 170 calories, what are you supposed to have as your 'meal'?

I'm glad if the full bars work for those that it does but I just really couldn't imagine using them 'as prescribed' and I couldn't imagine trying to fit 2 of them in my day with my current calorie guidelines.
