I'm glad your fasting is going so well, Mad.

I was up half the night, too,but I didn't feel well. We went to the casino and didn't get home until 2:30 zm, and it wasn't because we were doing well. I was so tired. I'm not used to being up that late. I slept for 2 hours then woke up with potty issues, feeling nauseated. I didn't actually throw up. I had to wake DH up to get me some ginger ale after which I felt better. I think I was just overly tired. I don't get a nap when we go to the casino. DH was surprised that I wanted o eat today but I felt fine by then. No nap today either but I will probably go to bed early.

Hope you are doing well Trish.

No nap yesterday, but I went to bed early. Did no good. I woke up at 3 and couldn't fall back to sleep. So I got up before the sun. I feel ok so far.

I'm still not weighing. I feel like I'm eating to maintain, not lose, not really observing my fasting window. I need a good, hard, smack! Any volunteers?

Carol Sue I hope you will feel much better soon. Right now you need to take care of yourself.

I don't know but I think the past 3 days have been my lowest because my immune system has been so low. I thought this round would be a little easier but it wasn't. I have had diarrhea and yesterday vo miting was added to the situation. I haven't been able to eat or drink anything until today and I'm doing that very carefully. I hope I will be able to start eating and rebuilding my immune system aynd strength. I requested the antibiotic they usually give me on Day 11 of my routine because I know my immune system is the lowest it has been. Come to find out it was the same as last month.

I made it through the day without a nap and I did ok. I hope I sleep good tonight. I might know why I've been sleeping poorly. I have blue blocking glasses that I wear when I'm on my tablet but a screw fell out of them and they need to be fixed or I need new ones. So I've been using regular reading glasses. That could be disrupting my circadian rhythm.

I'm sorry this round of chemo has been bad for you. I've really learned a lot about chemo thru this. I never knew the details about it.

Tonight I was reading a book that said if you eat within 3 hours of bedtime that it blocks you human growth hormone which helps you burn fat while you sleep. That might not be the exact wording. But that explains why I managed my weight so well when I used to eat breakfast and lunch but no dinner. That was not my thinking behind that habit but it worked all the same.

Yesterday I read something that said its better to do your exercise all together than to break it up into 3 10 minute segments, but I don't remember why, and I dont remember where I read it. And I'm also not sure its true. It seems that something happens in your body in a longer time period that doesn't happen in 10 minutes. I should start paying attention.

Poor sleep again last night. I have to figure this out. Its not insomnia. I sleep. But mostly its light sleep. Last night when I went to bed DH was already asleep with the TV on, or was pretending to be asleep. The show on TV was one he never watches. He hates it. I asked him if he was going to watch that or turn it off. He said he wants it on until he falls asleep, then he will turn it off. Excuse me...He was already asleep but it was still on!! You are supposed to have the room completely dark for sleeping. Just sayin'.

Ok, enough husband bashing. I stepped onto the balance beam scale and it went up above 180 a smidge. Sigh... Things will get better.

Yesterday I was cleaning the kitchen and thought to myself that my stove is not that bad. I don't really need the new one and might cancel it. This is the second time I've had these thoughts. Back and forth. I was reading the paperwork and I can cancel up to 72 hours before delivery which is June 9th. I am not good with major purchases. I'm afraid I will have buyers remorse.

Good morning! Up early to bake brownies and package up the cookies. I. I also took a,short nap yesterday.
think I slept pretty good last night, finally. DH turned off the tv early.

I hope you are doing well, Trish.

________________________________

Just got a call from step son that they are all sick. Coughing, congested, feeling terrible. So they are not coming over but will come another day. The bad thing is I have the cookies packed up for them and the brownies turned out great! I don't want them in the house. I don't think they will freeze well so I will give some to step daughter and DH said he will eat some. The other cookies can go back in the freezer. At least I got the house clean!

Now we will go to Walmart. I need a few things.

I hope you have a good Mothers day too, Trish. I'm sorry you are feeling so poorly and hope you improve.

_______________

I got more sleep last night but it wasn't really restful sleep.. I ate some cookies yesterday so it might have been the sugar. Step daughter took some cookies home yesterday but I wish she would have taken them all. A couple weeks ago I was getting great sleep. I wonder what changed. I might try taking the magnesium again but I don't like the dreams it causes.

When I went to Wal-Mart they didn't have my Sara Lee bread so I bought something else and its not as good.

This is day 14 of this round so I am going to try to start back to building up my immune system. I can't eat a lot but I want to at least start eating more quality meals like protein and start walking a little every few hours to get my legs stronger. I have surgery in 16 days and my theory is that if I am able to build my strength and immune system pretty well in 7 days before next chemo round, then I just might be able to build it up even more by the time I have surgery.

Carol Sue I hope you are feeling much better. I think getting off the sugar probably could be your problem. I don't think a little of it might not hurt you once in a while, but too much becomes a problem. I get some sugar in my sherbert I ate but I don't eat much of it.

I've pretty made up my mind that when I get over this that I'm going back on a semi-low carb woe but by the guide lines of WW. I like the idea of eating protein, fruit and veggies.

Fatmad I hope you are doing well. Are y'all just remodeling the cottage for when y'all make trips or are you planning to move there?

Have a nice day everybody.

Trish, I didn't know you were going to have another chemo treatment in 7 days. I thought surgery was next. Maybe I just don't understand. Walking a bit when you can will surely help. I should be doing that, too.

You did very well when following WW and I agree it would be beneficial even if its Simply Filling and not counting points.

I don't eat much sugar but I've been eating these chocolate chip cookies. I know DH will not eat them. Maybe I can put them in step-sons container. When I got up this morning I hurt all over so I took Tylenol Arthritis. I haven't taken them for a long time but maybe I need to start again. I felt much better after taking them. Every once in a while we need some help.

Carol Sue You were right. Surgery is next. I probably didn't clarify what I was saying very well. What I meant was that I usually start feeling better the week before chemo, but then I am hit with another round of chemo so I never get all my strength back. Since I am having surgery next, which is in 16 days, I hope I will be stronger.

I'm glad the Tylenol helped.

Trish,I went back and reread what you wrote and now I understand what you said. I am glad you are working toward renewing your strength instead of waiting til all your treatment is over. It makes me so happy to hear you planning your eating like we used to do! I know you still have some hurdles but it seems like the light is shining at the end of the tunnel and better days are ahead.

Now I'm planning on getting rid of the old stove and getting the new one. Step daughter wants to sell the old one and DH wants her to. But I don't like selling things unless I tell them everything that's wrong. I don't want people to feel that we took advantage of them. I would give it to someone who needed it and could not afford to buy one. DH and step daughter are the same, thinking of how much money they can get. I have sold things I didn't want anymore but nothing was wrong with them.

Hi everyone: I had a lovely Mother's Day brunch with DH and both DD. Two days of eating "regular" with carbs had my weight up. I fasted yesterday and am back to below 175 today, but not quite 174, LOL. I plan to eat lower carb for today and tomorrow and then fast on Thursday. On Thursday DH and younger DD will leave and go up north, I will go on Friday. I have an eye appointment on Thursday, and no evening ferries running yet, so have to wait another day. It will be a longish fast if all goes well, because I discovered that my seasickness is much better when fasting.
When I go on the cruise in July, I may end up fasting a lot, LOL.
Carol: I get the stove thing. I have one at the cottage that I hate. Nothing terribly wrong with it, it was given to us 2nd hand and I just don't like the coil burners and the size of the thing. I would rather a small apartment sized stove, or even just a cooktop and use a toaster oven and air fryer instead. Speaking of air fryers, Trish you are right, I really like mine. I need one for the cottage now.
Trish: I hope you get over this round of chemo well before surgery and can even build up a little strength so that you recover better. We are thinking and praying about you.
TTFN friends, have a good day.

I have an air fryer oven but I never use it. To be honest, I don't know what to do with it. Most things that people make in them are things that DH won't eat. The things,we have tried in there don't turn out right. My step daughter liked mine so we got her one for a house warming gift. She uses it all the time.

My dog is sick. He is listless and mopey. Won't eat. I guess I have to call the vet and see if they will see him. I hope we don't have to go out to the emergency vet. They are, very expensive and we aren't sure how to get there.

___________________________

We gave the dog half of a chewable 81 mg aspirin. I read online that was the mg to give a dog his size. We put it in a piece of egg but he wouldn't eat it. Then we tried apiece of chicken and he ate it and fell asleep. Now he's jumping around like normal. I hope he stays that way.

Carol Sue Glad your dog is better and I hope he continues to improve.

Fatmad I hope your eye appointment goes well and you have a good trip to the cottage.
,
Busy day today. I had nausea when I got up but once I had dry toast I felt better. Then we spent a lot of the afternoon with the roofer. He is a Christian who had cancer back int 2016 of 2017. Before he came, I called and registered at the hospital for my surgery. Now relaxing.

Have a nice evening.
