Hi everyone; 170 even. I can't seem to break through to the 160's. I was thinking of doing a fast today to make that happen. I ate very low carb yesterday. If I do eat, I want to be low carb.
I think I am reacting to the ranitidine (zantac) I have been dealing with this eczema, and am stopping the zantac for a few days to see if that is the cause.
But not having that abdominal pain has been really nice.
Have a good day friends.

Not much new. We had a gift card for Texas Roadhouse so we went there yesterday. It didn't storm til 9 pm. We also went to Goodwill but I didn't buy anything. I am limiting what I buy, less impulse purchases.
Trish, I looked up the foods that are alkaline and many are things I don't eat. They suggest green smoothies but I don't do that. I like foods I can chew. I do try to eat veggies every day.
I like to look at the weather app on my Fitbit to see the outside temps so I know how to dress. Somehow it switched to Celsius and I don't know how to convert. Finally I looked online and found instructions to change it back. I'm amazed that such small things make me happy. When I go to the casino it gives me weather for that location. Technology amazes me. 😄
Good moorning dear ones. I have really missed y'all.
Fatmad I hope you get over the ecczema and not have to give up your Zantac. Have you tried Nexium? The onchololgist has me on 2 a day so I don't have to get it as a prescription, My insurance won't cover it any way. You will break through to 170 soon.
Carol Sie I'm not sure I want to eat alcholine foods only. I do welll to eat what I do. The nurse did mention that fruit is to have all bacteria washed off.
Not much happening here today. I see 2 onchologists tomorrow and am sure surgeon will remove my staples. I'm slowly getting back to normal and I'm not sure I will keep nurses and therapists coming. I am almost to what it was before surgery. and I'm not going to do anything more or less to continue getting better and stronger. I'm there others who need them.

We missed you too, Trish. It is so refreshing to see posts from you on a regular basis.
I'm glad you are feeling back to your old self and hope you continue to improve your strength.
I was reading a book today where it was recommended that we don't drink too much water or other fluids. This goes against so much I've heard. He said we should not urinate more than every 4 hours and none overnight. I'm in the habit of drinking water all day and I get up at least twice a night. I even keep water on my bedside table. I don't know what I will do with this information. The book is about increasing metabolism and he said those who hydrate the most have the lowest metabolism. I've also heard that drinking ice cold water causes your body to work harder to warm it up. I think I was better off when I wasn't learning these things.
HI everyone: new laptop. Mine was ten, and was not up to many of the things I want to do, so here I am.
Trish: I am delighted things are coming together for you. Make sure you don't need DH or family caregivers for anything before you completely give up the paid caregivers. Extra help with bathing and showering makes a big difference to your energy for the rest of the day.
carol, I am not sure about the amount of water you drink, but you should not allow yourself to be thirsty. I don't keep track of my fluids. I drink plenty of tea, and water after my morning tea. Maybe something bubbly during the day as well. As a diabetic, being hydrated helps your kidneys excrete extra sugar as well. But no need to overdo it.
I am still 170. Not fasting for a few days, but staying low carb until Friday, when I will fast. What will be, will be. I will away from scales the whole trip. BUT, NSV I have gone from a 38 inch waist to 37 or 36.5, depending on the day.

Mad, the waist measurement is great! Sometimes that's better than scale weight.
I have decided the information about drinking water is not correct, at least for me. I often drink before I get thirsty but I don't think its excessive. I know I need to drink water to wash out extra uric acid from my gout. And the fact that one of my blood pressure pills contains a mild diuretic has me urinating more.
We,went to the casino yesterday and I was exhausted when we got home. Fell right into bed and asleep. We did not win but did bring some money home.
Trish, I hope you're doing well. I get concerned when you don't post but I do understand you are, still healing and need rest. I agree with Mad that you should be sure you are ok on your own before dismissing the outside help. Only you know what you need.
I should have done this yesterday but was just too tired after seeing both oncologist and gynocologist surgeon in the same day. So will give update now. Good report, surgeon believes she got all the ovarian cancer. Not sure if I will need 2 or 3 more chemotherapies to be sure they get anything that could have been left behind as the goal is still for me to be “cancer free” when all this is over. She was surprised hospital did not remove my staples so she removed them so I am completely in the last stage. I will stay under oncologist care and see her after 2 therapies to see if I need a 3rd.
I saw my chemo therapy doctor and the first thing he said was " you are enemic"; when my blood count goes down in the 7s and it has been 7.2 for one week. He has ordered for me to get 2 units of blood next Wednesday. He is giving me 2 weeks off until July 14th to get my first chemotreatment. This is to give me time to heal from surgery and gain strength from blood transfusion. He even agreed that I don't need therapy because I need blood. So good to be back under the control of my n doctor team who knows me so well. He told me to keep doing as much as I can but to come home and relax. I think that means let your body heal
Fatmad when do you leave? Have a fun and safe triip.
Carol Sue I knew you would worry and tried a couple of times to write but was just too tired.
I asked my team nurse what foods I can eat to build my blood and strength. Protein... beef. liver fish etc and beans and lentils. I guess Dr. Barry was right when he said eating only protein won't hurt you. Interesting isn't it?

Trish, please don't feel pressured to post on my account. I worry because we normally post every day. But these are not normal times. You have been thru so much and need to rest and heal. I hate that you have to go through two more chemo treatments but its best to be sure every last cancer cell is gone. I thank God that you came this far.
Thank you for giving a thorough update on your doctor visits. I wonder if you have been anemic in the past but it was never checked. I think many online doctors recommend eating more protein even though many general practitioners do not. My doctors never tell me how to eat and I never ask. Everyone is appalled with how they feed you in the hospital, even those with blood sugar issues. I think it is a cost issue and it won't change.
Nothing really new for me. I've been drinking less water but not a lot less. I know I need water. I used to drink no water. I drank only coffee and diet soda. I drink very little diet soda now. When I do, I rarely finish it and its wasted. If I order soda in a restaurant its so expensive and mostly ice. They say "free refills" but don't usually offer it until I'm ready to leave.
I've gotten away from daily weighing. I don't have a weigh in day just weigh when I "feel thin.". I'm trying so hard to eat to hunger and not try to reach a certain calorie count. I do not want to see 180 again. I spent a long time there. It is very hard to get the scale to go down. Our bodies do not want to let go of the fat.
I rarely have anything on hand to snack on. I'm trying to stop snacking. Its just a habit and it keeps me from being hungry at dinner. I want to be hungry for dinner but not so hungry that I eat too much or too fast. I know my eating has changed so much from when I was 200+. Thats when I was eating and snacking all day and never got hungry. Now when I feel hungry it makes me happy to know I'm no longer overeating. I do go back to overeating once in a while but I realize it and stop myself. Its too bad it took so long for that change.
I hope you continue to improve, Trish, and I hope you enjoy your trip, Mad. And I hope we all continue to eat on plan.
I weighed at oncology Wednesday but it was after 2pm and I was up to 186, but that was late in the day and I had drank protein and some water. I'm not sure I will weigh at the primary doc today because it will be around 4 pm. They weigh me every 21 days at oncology when they start my new chemo treatment.

Trish, I think you are probably still dealing with fluid issues. I wouldn't worry about weight right now. Work on getting your strength back. You are used to weighing first thing without clothes. That is your true weight. They weigh you with clothes which will always make a difference. Its funny, but I have what I call "Going to the doctor" clothes. They are very light weight pants and a light weight short sleeve top. And I always wear slip on shoes so I can weigh without them. It probably makes a difference of 2 ounces!
We are going to the casino so its a no dinner day today.
My primary doctor's appt is next Friday. Sad thing is I could have gotten my blood transfusion today. O well. I will get it next Wednesday and might be able to use walker to walk into primary office 2 days later.
Good news I got today is that the blood test they go by called CA125 results came in today. In the beginning it was over 11100, well today it was 431. That means surgeon is correct that she got almost all the cancer. The plan now is to do 1 or 2 more chemotreatments praying we get any that may have been left and hopefully get that number lower. Oncologist said he would like to see it 50 so I am praying for that. Hopefully I will soon be finished with treatments and just healing and getting stronger each day on my way back to normal.
Carol Sue I hope your day at the casino is a good one.
Hi everyone: at the airport now, so won't be posting while away. If either of you wants to be FB friends, I will accept it if I know who you are. I may post a few pics to FB but internet access will be limited, and photos are big data. SO most likely phone photos when in the towns and villages on shore expeditions. Photos from my phone will get uploaded eventually, but likely not until I am home.
Carol: glad the day at the casino went as well as these things do. Nor my cuppa tea, but to each their own.
Trish, I am glad things are going better. I agree, eat well, and when you want it, be guided by your body.
Hope you feel better soon.

Trish, I'm sorry to hear you didn't get the blood transfusion. The sooner the better. I'm glad to hear your CA125 has dropped so well. That's amazing, but you went thru a lot to get to this point. I will pray for 50. I hope the last 2 chemo treatments are not as harsh.
My weight on the balance beam scale was still 179. I wish it would go lower but thats up to me. I'm very glad its not going up. I don't eat at the casino but I ate before we went. DH gets a hot dog and fries for the ride home but I only eat a few fries. I don't like fries much anymore but theirs are great! I don't know what they fry them in or if they bake them. We did not win but also didn't lose any money. DH is addicted to gambling. I would not be going if it wasn't for him.
This morning we went to Walmart, Aldi, and Goodwill. DH wanted to go out for breakfast but its crowded on Saturday. People who work like to go out for breakfast on weekends. I'm tired of eating out. Nothing tastes good to me anymore. They don't know how to cook eggs the way I like them and its so much cheaper to cook at home. They have other things that DH likes, like double blueberry pancakes and sausage gravy and biscuits. I don't like those things. I just want eggs and toast. Their meat, like bacon, sausage or ham is too salty for me.
I think I'm making sauerkraut and pork for dinner.
When I was in the hospital, I got to where I would only eat eggs and bacon and drink Insure for brealkfast and they even ruined me because the Insure protein shake was the only thing that tasted good. Still haven't tried eggs since I got home. I drink my Prime protein shake for breakfast and snack on beef jerky or some other type of protein. I think DH said we will finish off our takeout BBQ today.
It felt so hot in our bedroom this morning so I had DH help me dress around 6 am when I went to the bathroom so I could come to the living room and sit in my recliner to rest and have the fan on me.
I too am getting to where I don't care so much about takeout. I get it now for him.

I noticed that I have 2 protein shakes still in the refrigerator. I bet they have expired. I have some whey protein to mix in my small blender. I like it but don't think of it. I like that mixed with half water, half milk. That brings it to the consistency I like.
My sauerkraut was good. I didn't eat pork but had 1 hot dog and 1 kielbassi. My blood sugar is still good. I'm very excited about that. I no longer get the dawn phenomenon. I really don't know how that came about but I am happy and want it to continue.
We have had a lot of heavy rain today and they are warning of flash flooding. We are on a hill and won't get any flooding but some low lying roads nearby could flood and might be closed.
Today a lot of people in our neighborhood are setting off fireworks. DH heard on the scanner that someone called the police but the police won't do anything. It doesn't bother me but it scares some pets and children. They are legal here but not around houses.
