Jenn - These aren't normal situps I'm doing these with 5 lb ankle weights on each ankle, and my knees bent at a 90 degree angle (heels resting on the couch). I haven't been seeing results so I got mad and just wailed on them today. Ohhh my poor stomach!! And if you can do -any- of them, good!! So many people i know can't do a single actual situp, and if you can do 40, I'm totally proud of you. PLUS why wouldn't I be proud of you?! ALMOST FIFTY POUNDS THIS YEAR ALONE!! Girl, you kick my butt any day!

Elisha - my family used to sit down at the table, mom, dad, my bro & I, every single day until my brother moved out (he's 7 yrs my senior), and even then... the 3 of us -every night- or my mom freaked out. Now, we're lucky to have all 4 of us, well, 6, including our spouses, heh, in the same house at the same time! I totally understand... It gets weird as you grow up, without that sitting down. My husband's family never sat at a table -- even on holidays! (There are about 50 of them total at holidays so thus no table room). It's totally something I'll do with our kids, once we have 'em. It really brings your family together, and I really miss it, now. And it's a totally normal mom thing. When my grandma died (her mom, who raised me most of the time), my mom started showing up at my work to go grab a coffee and just weird stuff like that. I say just give her a hug and cherish the time, man. My mom is my best friend in the world and I'm so happy that I've got that with her. Your mom sounds like she just wants to make sure she gets in enough time with her kids, too.

Lisa - I say forget about that sittin' around thing and get up & get moving!! You -know- you feel a million times better if you get up and work out, right? And you've got all of us to give you a quick taser blast if you need it. You're doing great! Sometimes you really just have to force yourself for a few days to get that motivation flowing again, my dear. You're doing awesome!

Jay - I'm glad your son is doing better!! I hope his tummy isn't killing him too badly this morning. Kids are goofy. I kind of agree with you on the whole tape-workout thing, except mine isn't the stupid "hey gang! all right, gang, let's GANG GANG GANG" I hate that man!! 8 minute abs my ***... I can't even stand to hear that big freakish oaf of a man say the word gang for 2 minutes, let alone do the whole tape for 8 minutes! I get bored, though.. You're lucky that your sister is there to do it with you! My vitamins usually make me nauseated, too. I take one of those once-a-day women's things that have more folic acid & iron (which is good but iron is what makes me sickly), but I've found that if I take just a regular calcium tablet with the vitamins and take 'em with a meal, it really helps. I still get a little woozy for a few minutes, but for some reason, that calcium kills the nausea. PLUS I've foudn that when I take that calcium (in addition to the regular vitamin and the mounds of cheese i eat every day haha), I feel SO MUCH BETTER! I have tons more energy, I sleep better at night, and for some strange reason... my boobs look a lot better. I have NO idea what's up with that, but I know you have that issue and whatnot... so I thought I'd toss it out. You're doing an awesome job and you're cute as **** already, and the closer you get to that goal, my dear, the more awesome you'll look and feel!! I'm totally proud of you for going SO FAR and doing so much!!

Anyway I did all of my workout already, took a shower, did the laundry, scanned my tapes (Which are AWESOME YAY!) and ummm... I know I did something else but I think I forgot. It's hot again, today, but worse. Now the humidity is just wonderful so I'm dripping like mad, and it's about 83 inside today. JOY. LET ME FREAKING TELL YOU. It wouldn't be so bad if we had DRY heat, because dry heat is so much easier to deal with than the wet rainforest kind. That's really the only thing I dislike about WA's heat -- it's wet heat, and wet heat sucks. You can't sleep, and you're basically automatically dehydrated because you sweat all day long. *Annoyed*

Anyway I'm going to finish up with the tapes, do a buttload of tulle circle candie thingeys, and spend the afternoon reading my book and listening to some good music. I hope everybody has an awesome day today, and you guys are so awesome! If I haven't said it already, I am totally proud of each and every one of you for doing such an awesome job and being such beautiful, healthy women! YOU GUYS ROCK!!!

Lucy, thanks for being proud of me. As far as the nearly 50 pounds....shoot, I'm twice your size....and a heckuva lot of muscle, so for me, to get under 200 will be a miracle in itself. But, one day at a time, one week at a time. I'm determined to get there, so save me some of your big clothes Or heck, you can just design for me when I'm svelte

Jennifer, I have this massively cute size 14 leopard print knee-length (well, ankle length on me haha) dress and it's SO CUTE, but it's a little too orange for my complexion (I have red hair, it just looks funny hehe). I am going to send it to you, because once you get to that spot, and you will... you will be perfect in it! Plus, you're tall enough that it'd actually fit you!!

Deal!

Also... I have just had a huge victory. It's kind of a win-lose, but I'm gonna look at the positive instead. I'm making all of these stupid candies for my best friends' wedding, right? And I have to put 5 of them in a little tulle circle and tie 'em up so they're all cute and all that crap.

So. I didn't eat a single thing! I didn't touch -- well ok I touched becuase I have to pick them up etc etc -- but I didn't -eat- a single one of them. WOOHOO!! I avoided a 2-layer deep cookie sheet filled with yummy little 55 calories per chocolate chocolates, and I ROCK!!

The bad news -- I need like, 100 of these little buggers, right? I hope she does not up that number to 150 or she's buying me more stuff. I've got 34 of them done. UGH. Her wedding is on the 23rd. It's been so hot that I can hardly do these things... they melt if it's warmer than about 70 degrees in the room. It is well over 90 in my living room right now. STUPID SUN!!!

Anyway, I'm proud of myself for that, at least. I think I'm going to do a few batches this afternoon, because the sooner I do it, the sooner the circles are done and the sooner I can relax and not feel stressed out, right? WOohoo!!

Time for my afternoon update!

Just got back from a 20-minute walk, so exercise is good (at least for me 20 minutes is good!). Water is good, calories are on track, food is as planned. Still haven't started dinner yet though. Have to shower first, then dinner.

My brother just called and his car that he just bought last week is dead. I think he should take it back.

Anyway, shower time!

Have a great evening everyone!

Okay, chickies. I have an awesome new recipe, and it's both low-cal, low-carb, and low-sodium, so pretty much no matter what, it's rad.

I actually got the recipe from a tv show I saw on food network, but I altered it a little bit. They're supposed to be tuna burgers, but my burgers didn't hold together, so I kind of squished them into just a giant one in a 9" cake plate.

This is super easy, you probably have all the stuff to make it already, and it's a whole meal 'cause it's got veggies and a ton of awesome protein and tastes AWESOME!!

Tuna Cake (you can try it as burgers but mine fell apart hehe)

2 6oz cans of tuna, drained very well
2 beaten eggs
1/2 cup of bread crumbs (or if you're doing low-carb, use low-carb bread and crush about 1 slice, or use about 1 unsalted, crushed rice cake which has 6g of carbs)
2 tbsp minced garlic
1 tbsp lime juice
1/4 tsp hot chinese mustard (or something spicy like that!)
3 tbsp regular mustard (I like mustard hehe)
seasoning salt (to taste)
4-5 sliced up green olives (you can use pickles too but this is tangier)
1/3 cup chopped celery/veggies

and basically brown it in a pan with a little olive oil, then bake at 350 for about 10 minutes. AWESOME!

Hi ladies -

Too, too funny about the WATP dialoge because of course I also can recite right along with them!

Elisha - The older I get the more important relationships become to me. Family of course, but also just those true, genuine connections with people, like at work (if you have relationships at work) and here on 3FC. It took losing some family members very close to me to realize just how important relationships are. Its my support system. My mom & I are very close and I cherish all of the time we spend together, especially as she ages. Okay, talk about random talking, I just know what a blessing it is if we have our mothers with us and to decent (no, not perfect) relationships with them

Jennifer - thanks for reminding me that its not tv OR exercise. I CAN do both at least SOMEtimes That strawberry yogurt Zone bar is sounding pretty interesting. I'm always looking for new breakfast ideas. I'll have to look for them.

Lucy - Congratulations on getting into the 170's! You're on my tail, and with your food intake and exercise I'd better really get on the ball just to keep up

Abroad - I also have a pedometer. Actually I have 3 and they vary in their degrees of reliability. If its not in exactly the perfect spot on my waistband it won't pick up on my steps. I have been cheated out of a many a steps some days before I realize I don't have it in the perfect spot. I paid a lot of $$ for one not too long ago and ended up returning it the next day because it was way too sensitive. That darn thing was recording every single movement I made! I would have been clocking in 50k steps using that thing! For that kind of recording I can just stick with the cheapo ones, which are actually more reliable. My goal is a minimum of 10k steps a day and since I can be a little anal about those types of things I have had to step back a little and accept the fact that the pedometer is only going to be my guideline. I know its not going to be exact. I wish I could have found one that was exact, but oh welll. But you could do a test 20 steps or something like that and see how it is picking up on your steps.

Jaymi - can I have your autograph? Just don't forget about us here when you're discovered!

With the couple of days I've had I am actually feeling like I can make my labor day challenge! Yay for the motivation I'm getting from you ladies!!!

Ok, ladies, here's the deal.
Dinner was grilled chicken with sauteed green peppers and onions and a rice/vermicelli mix. Water is good, exercise was as stated. Calories are at 1182 right now, which is way low for me, so I think I'll have some popcorn or crackers or something while I'm watching tv at 10:00 (don't worry, I'll still be up for hours).

I'm so excited about this 207 thing. I know it doesn't seem like that big of a deal, but just yesterday I was saying to a friend how I feel live I've stalled, even though I haven't. I'm really tryiing to get down below 200 this month, and there's no reason I shouldn't. Except that it's almost half way through the month, and I'm still 7 pounds away. I'm just getting really impatient. I know, this weight didn't get here overnight, and it's not going to come off overnight. I just get to thinking about my goal--150 seems so far away. 57 pounds is so much. I know that some chicks here have a lot further to go than I do, and I know that a lot more chicks here have come a lot further than I have, and I am so proud of all of them, because some days I honestly don't know how I'm going to make it. It's not that I don't think eating right and exercising will be a lifetime thing for me, because this time I know I'm doing it right, and I'm doing it for good. But then I look at my body, and I look at my fat, and it's going to take a long time, and I know that. I just wish it was faster. I've lost 30 pounds and I haven't even stopped wearing an 18. I want something to change, noticeably.

*sigh*

Ok, how obvious are my mood swings? :/

Alright, that's it from me. Have a lovely night, chickies.

Default Tuesday's Happenings!

Well girls...
My day has been just filled with all kinds of excitement! NOT! But just a few highlights from my day:

AM:
Got up to a dirty kitchen and decided that was more of a priority at this point (because I wouldn't have time when I got home from work) to get the kitchen cleaned up than to exercise! So I skipped the exercise this morning!

Worked all day, of course it was busy after a 3 day weekend (all my weekends are 3 day weekends, but it takes all week to get caught up!)

Came home, had supper all ready to go. Ate with the family then rushed off to VBS. They really didn't need me so I left early (like 7:30) and got home in time to kiss hubby goodnight (he's up at ungodly hours like 3:30am for work!) and decided I had time to work out! So DD and I went downstairs and put in the WATP DVD and I did 1.25 miles tonight! Phew! I'm tired! I really don't like exercising at night, but I'm glad I got my miles in tonight and didn't skip because I had a horrible food day!

I'll share! All my meals were as planned, but the stuff in between is always the problem! I ate a small vending machine size bag of peanut butter M&M's. 27 gms of carbs! UGH! Then tonight, I helped out with snacks in the kitchen and ate a few Ritz crackers with peanutbutter (and a smidge of frosting!)

Tomorrow's Goal: No eating between meals unless it's a "planned" snack (and I'm NOT planning any "sugar or flour" snacks!). If I leave early enough in the morning, I can stop at Walmart and pick up a box of Zone bars to take to work with me! I just need ONE!!! I think gettin a jar of pickles at work would help! Don't ask! and NO, I am NOT pregnant (as evidenced by current TOM!)

OK, SO GOOD NEWS HERE!!! I weighed in today! And I weighed at 169.5!!! Yea!!!!!! I'm already back into the 160's and it's only day two!!! I just KNOW this is the challenge I am going to break through and get into the 150's!!! Oh that sounds so sweet to my ears!!!!

Alright chickies...comment time (and I have some!!!)

Lucy...Kick butt girl! No chocloate?????? I am soooo proud of you!!! I couldn't do it! Really! I couldn't! That is jus too tempting, for sure! There's a lady that goes to our church who lost a ton of weight, but all the while she continued to bake cakes for people (like really beautiful ones!) and her family! I just don't know how people do it! I can't! Truly! Oh, and thanks for that tuna patty recipe! I think I'll try it! Sounds yummy!

Elisha...food AND exercise on track all in the same day???? What's up with that girlfriend!!! LOL~! And a huge congratulations on getting off that lb! You worked hard for it! Hey, sorry about your training yesterday! That just isn't fair! There are just people in this world who do things that I will always question!!! But then, there's your Mom! How wonderful that she can say that to you! Cherish your relationship with her because I don't have a good relationship with my Mom and sometimes I wish I did! I'm glad I have 4 sisters, though because at least I have that! And I have all my "sistah's" here on 3FC which I am grateful for! Keep up the good work, girl!

Abroad...I used to do WW...several times! It's hard for me because I think there is too much freedom with food and then I get carried away! I need limitations! I don't have a pedometer but have used them and don't find them to be too accurate! Sorry!

Jennifer...Way to kick butt on the toning last night! You mulit tasker, you! I don't think I've said this lately, but you are still my hero!!!! Hope you had a great dinner!

Lisa, chickie!!!! Poor baby! Hope he's feeling better and I hope you get some sleep tonight! I'm delerious when I only have 6 hours of sleep. I can't imagine! And yes! Hoop De Do...know it well! We watched The Wiggles when Kaleigh was a bit younger! She preferred TeleTubbies, though!! LOL!
Take care of yourself, too!

The rest of you...hope you have had a wonderful day! This is long enough! Sorry!

Finally...a minute to check in!! What a day!

Food was right on points! Yahoo!! Water - pretty close!!

Exercise - Well, I started out by walking for 20 min at a brisk pace. Mind you, part of the time I had a 2 year old hanging from my leg - *sigh*. Anyway, in walks DH, just as I have walked 20 min. (I wanted to walk at least 30). He asks, "Are you wanting to get in some exercise?" (What kind of question was that??? Wasn't it obvious I was exercising???). Me, the dummy, said, "Yes." "Well then," he said, "Come on out and help me push mow the lawn!" O.K., this sounds silly, but I have never mowed grass at all, much less push mowed in this oh-so-humid hot Georgia weather!! So, off I go, and I did a good job!! I was soaked with sweat and my face stayed red for 2 hours!! I mowed about 30-40 min. Everything on me aches. Everything. My legs feel on fire. My arms hurt!! But, hey, didn't I say I wanted to get in some exercise??? Hooray!!! Gotta log this on the miles walked!! I feel like somebody shot a gun and said,"She's off!!!!" I am officially part of the challenge . Go, Lisa, Go!!!

I am enjoying my food choices. Our neighbors (all family) have an awesome garden, and I am liking all the fresh veggie choices. Gotta love those tomatoes!! We grilled garlic chicken tonight. It was yum, and I have left overs to eat on tomorrow.

Alrighty now, chickies, I have some comments I want to make to everybody, but I am on this advanced post page, and I can't scroll around to see again what everyone said. I need to make notes or something. Hang on...

Additionally, I would like to say:

Lucy - I think it is awfully nice of you to do that baking for your friend! I am really proud of you for making all of that candy and not eating any. That is terrific!! And...I just can't imagine me being that strong!! Also, the recipe sounds great. I am in a new recipe mode! I feel like I am starting over fresh, and I like some new recipes to celebrate that start!

Miss Elisha - Sounds like we both had a 20 min. walk today!! Good job getting to 207. That is going to melt down to 197...187...177... etc. before you even know it - I just feel this. BTW, your posts really motivate me, and thank you for that!! I think you are doing a great job .

Julie - 160's after only 2 days?? Girl, that is really super!!! As for the M&M's (my 2 year old calls them 'emmy m's'), well... just refuse to take any more orders from those guys!! Show em whose in charge!! I am proud of you, Julie, and I think you do a good job! Tommorow will be better. Hoop de doo! (OMG, I have had too much coffee, can you tell?? .

Jennifer - Chicka!! Does your bike have smoke coming out the back or what??? Go girl! I got the reisistance bands, and I can't wait to try them. DH got me a set of things - bands, exercise ball, light hand weights, and a thing you attach to the door to work legs with...I'll keep you posted!!!

Pegi - How are you?? Hope your day was super!!

Abroad - Hi to you too!!!

Well, I have rambled on enough. Thanks for letting this be a safe place. It means so much to me. It seems like the month of June was one of the hardest of my life...in so many ways I have taken a fresh look at friendships and connections...at family...and at myself. I want to be better. I want to feel better. I'm gonna do this weight loss thing. In the past it was because of...vanity? competition? Hmmm... probably lots of reasons. Now, I am (As Julie says) being more gentle with myself. I'm trying to take things one day at a time (why is that so hard??)

Have a super night!!

Hi all - Just a quick check in - school was ok - I went for a walk over my lunch break and felt good about that. I was in WW two years ago so am following the plan but not officially joined. I do use a pedometer and find it really motivates me but wouldn't swear by the numbers. I also have found the cheap ones to be more reliable - crazy, huh? Once again, this is so short and I apologize but I've got to get to bed. Keep up the great work - know that you all inspire me so much so Thanks and keep on smiling!

Today went ok as far as eating.. Well actually it wasn’t great, I ate a cheeseburger from Wendy’s, and potato salad for breakfast and dinner! (crazy) I called myself making this meatloaf recipe for dinner… it didn’t come out right…. My son don’t even like it… and he likes anything! So.. Oh well…. I guess I”ll cook some gumbo tomorrow. I didn’t get to exercise today, I forgot I had to go and get the radio on the truck fixed. We went to the mall today and rode around… but of course that’s when UPS decided to deliver my package. They get on my nerves sometimes!! Now when I’m trying to sneak something in the house.. They wait until after 6 (when hubby is home) to bring it… now today, they want to be early! So I have to stay home and wait for the stupid thing. Maybe go to the beach if I can get my sis to wake up Super Duper early!! My daughter is up and hyper… and I need to sleep. I can’t get up in the mornings!!! That’s why I can’t exercise!!! BUT.. I want to be 139 by Saturday. This morning I was 142 so I gained 3 then lost 2 then gained, 2 back, then lost 2 again!! No more chocolate… I’m going to lose those 3 lbs if I have to exercise 4 times a day!!! I just want to see 139 one good time… I’d be soo happy!!!

Lucy ~ I have been meaning to email you like… Forever!! That is SOOO great on your 170’s!!! Congrats girl.. I’m soo happy!! BTW what diet pill were you using sometimes before all this? My $$ is low.. And I need something that works and don’t drive me nuts?? I know that you lost all of that with all your hard work… but I had to ask anyways!!

Jenn ~ At least I’m not alone here… there is a 4 mile one!!! I bought that 3 tape one with the stretchy…. Where did you buy the 4 mile one from?!?

Lisa ~ Sorry about the baby…. Is he doing better?? I don’t have no idea what channel the wiggles are on… but I don’t think I want to add another annoying cartoon on the list!! My daughter watches Dora like everyday… and I prerecorded 3 of them 6 hrs straight of Dora.. When she wants to watch them she keeps cutting off the TV or she brings you the tape!

Elisha ~ Congrats on your 207!! That’s great!!!!! YEAH! Doesn’t it feel good when you see your hard work…. What people don’t realize is that it takes a heck of a lot of work to see 1 lb gone!!! You have been working soo hard though.. I’m proud of you!

Michelle ~ I have no idea what you are talking about!!… But thanks so much!!! You have to excuse me… It’s like 1 a.m. here! I would like it if maybe Will Smith discovered me!!!

Julie ~ Congrats on your loss!!! That is great.. But he*l you’ve been working hard enough!!! You are doing so great!

Pegi ~ What kind of pedometer do you have… that one from McDonalds kinda sucks…. But I thought about buying that cheap one from walmart…

I know I am missing someone.. If I am sorry!! But I want you to know that I am so PROUD OF ALL OF YOU!!! You all are doing sooo amazing!!! I am proud to be in your presence and be your friend!!!

Well tomorrow is a new day.. And it’s waiting for me!! Its way way too late.. And I need some sleep. I will talk with you all later!!

Smile Hump Day

Morning, everyone!

We've got a long meeting here this morning- from 9:30 until lunch, and then they are bringing in italian. I have my lunch in the fridge, defrosting, because I'll be having my stuff while they feed their faces with garbage.

Quickie post this morning, and then I'll fill in everything after the meeting.

Had to get up even earlier than normal to drop off all my closing papers before work this morning, so no morning workout, or I'd have needed to be up at 4am. I'll be doing it tonight, for sure.

Breakfast was 1/3 cup smart start, and 1 pineapple cottage double. Had my diet coke for caffeine jolt, and now I've almost gotten first 24oz of water in. Will refill right before the meeting starts.

Elisha- awesome job with the additional pound! You're kicking butt

Lucy- that recipe looks intriguing...I'll have to see if hubby is interested in trying it.

Michelle- kick butt getting the exercise in. You're going to make your Labor Day goal for sure!

Julie- Yes!!!! Back in the 160's! Way to go, girl! Just remember...for each m&m you eat, 2 zaps with the tazer. That'll cure you, for sure! Nah, I wouldn't zap you that much. Maybe once for each m&m

Lisa- Damn, woman. Now I'm exhausted just reading that. I've never mowed a lawn, thankfully. Had a brother for that, and my dad was always interested in doing it himself. Of course, he'd make it an all day affair, too.

Pegi- great job fitting some exercise into the workday! Awesome!

Jaumi- I got the 4 mile express DVD on ebay, of all places. You can also get it from amazon.com, or online at http://www.lesliesansone.com but her site is usually more expensive. I tell you, that one started off a little slower in the first half mile, but by mile 3, I was ready for a break!

Have a great hump day, ladies, and I'll check back if I'm still conscious after this meeting
