Well, I'm a tad jealous that this challenge happened without me! But you know, I need a good challenge. My water intake is ok! I drink between 60-80 oz every day! Now the exercise I could use a little "push" with...BUT...I DID manage to get up early this morning...after a few "snoozes" and did 1.75 miles (which I do need to add to my miles walked) with Ms. Leslie on the WATP. BUT....I am looking for a "food" challenge! Still having some "issues" yet today (yep, the icecream & mid afternoon snacking!) I had horrible gas pains this evening after a delicious supper (which hubby made and was full of bad stuff, like mashed potatoes & gravy!) So, I know my body is trying to tell me something!!! (Can you say indigestion?)
I am sooooo ready for that Electro Shock Therapy (I think in the "real" world, they call it ECT!!!!) Or brainwash, or spinal manipulation, or brain manipulation!!!! Whatever it takes right now!!!! I just need some willpower!!!! ARGH!!!
OK, now that I am over that fit....
I looked at my new DVD...it's a Yoga/Pilates one. Not too much with aerobics, but some good toning and stretching. I've been having some problems with my joints (especially my neck, shoulders & back) so I'm hoping this will help! Some of the moves look pretty complicated, but they have a "beginner" in the video who does "easier" moves! So I will follow her lead for a while until I can work up to the more advanced moves!
I had another DVD in my hand...it was another WATP with Leslie. It was a l mile and 2 mile, but I put it back thinking that I *might* get one for my birthday! I haven't been on the bike all month so I am thinking that maybe I will try to ride some miles in the morning and skip WATP! I do like her because she starts out slow and I can pick which level I want to go!
Well, if anyone wants to challenge me to a "food" challenge, I'm ready for it, only it's going to have to happen after Monday!!!!!! Anyone????????????????
Julie - Get your butt on this new challenge, chickie!! - sorry, didn't mean to sound like a drill sargeant- You are hereby challenged!! Come on now!!!! Let's say that we will start with this part of the challenge and next week the stricter part of the food starts. No excuses. This week we are still trying to eat good, but next week we will add a new element!! Sound good???? Either say yes, or I will tazer you myself!!! (((hug))) to you Julie!!!
Rysa - I did 9 miles on the bike earlier, which took me about 30 minutes (Jennifer, how the h*** fast are you going on that bike??? I am jealous - gotta rev it up I guess...I'm already sweating and huffing and puffing...) *And, Rysa, I did it!!! I drank my water! Not easy!! But this might just be the thing we need to move the scale. I have a feeling that you are going to get on the scale next week and be really happy!! You will see it start to move - I just know it!!!! I have to force myself not to weigh every day (well...sometimes I can't help it!). Anyway, I have to do some crunches, because I did not add that part today. I'll go do those right now... We should be proud of one another. One day down!!!!!

Well, How can I resist that???? LOL! OK, you are on!!! I plan to do 30 minutes in the morning of either bike or WATP. I will do the toning when I get home from work *(I hope!)* I will drink the water (at least 70 oz) every day...this will happen every day! We will get into this routine this week and next week, really crack the books on the food!!! Oh, I want to sooo bad, but the body is just being sooooo unwilling!!! Hugs to you, my friend...and thanks for including me!!! I feel better now after that little rant! Thanks!
Dead tired this evening. I wonder if that has anything to do with staying up until 3am?
Long day at work plus not enough sleep equals no exercise for me. Surprise, surprise, eh? At least food was good.
Breakfast--scrambled eggs with sauteed peppers and onions, white toast, coffee with creamer, water
Lunch--salami, lettuce, and lf mayo on white bread, triscuits, swiss cheese, water
Dinner--small serving of lasagna, lots more water
Tomorrow morning I'm getting up and exercising, then going down to spend the day with Grandma. Hard to tell what my diet will be like tomorrow, but Grandma likes it that I'm getting healthy, so it shouldn't be too bad. And I'll be sure to get in lots more water.
But for now, I'm going to bed. I'm a tired chick. Night ladies!
~Elisha
Julie - Join us! I'll definitely be up for a food challenge next week with the evil visit to Thinville looming! :-)
Lisa - Not only did I drink 64oz of water - I ended up drinking 80 by the time dinner and exercise were done, and now I'm slurping on a flavored seltzer water. Woohoo! You are good for me! Fabu job on your water and exercise!! We're both going to be much lighter next week!
Hauling my exhausted self off to bed now. Night, all!
Ahhh...so happy it's Thursday, ya know? Almost the weekend again.
Well, last night I couldn't fall asleep- was too warm from doing the bike so late, but I wasn't going to let the day end without getting my miles in. I was up until after midnight, and when hubby came to bed, he thunked me in the head with his elbow, so that didn't help me get to sleep! I didn't even get out of bed until 7am today. Fast shower, throw on clothes, prep breakfast & lunch, & ran out the door to work. This afternoon I'll make up for the missed exercise this morning. So, should I do a longer biking jaunt this afternoon, or 2-3 miles WATP? I'm taking suggestions
Food is a little different today-
Breakfast
1 strawberry yogurt Zone bar
10 mini baked tostitos (ate them in the kitchen while prepping lunch)
12oz diet coke
24oz Iced Earl Gray** (see below)
Lunch (yummy low-fat, low calorie nachos)
3/4 cup taco meat
20 mini baked tostitos
1oz shredded skin cheddar
(too messy to deal with jalapenos or anything else like that at work, but super good, I promise!)
Dinner
TBD- hubby is supposed to make meatballs & sauce today for more advanced prepping. Possibly that, or a sammitch
**I have to share with you my new-found addiction that makes the water go down faster & easier. I was always a tea drinker instead of coffee. Know those frou frou iced coffees & stuff? Well, I make a big mug of decaf earl gray tea. Add 2 packets of equal, and 2 tablespoons of french vanilla creamer (they make fat free creamer, and also low carb french vanilla- whichever fits your plan better). Take a 24-32oz glass, fill with ice, and pour the tea over it. More than half of the ice will melt immediately, chilling the tea. It's awesome. I've already had 24oz from that, this morning. And since there is no sugar, and no caffeine....tah dah!
Elisha- have a great day with your Grandmother!
Rysa- great going with all the water! Lead the way, chickie- looks like you're the one to catch.
Julie- I'll help keep you on the straight & narrow with your food. You can have this weekend & your day with your friends, but that's it!! Time to get it started again, woman!
Lisa-I can almost picture you with the white gloves....smack! I challenge you to a duel! LOL. As far as the bike...well, I'm not going that much faster than you, really. 1 mile an hour, just about. Here's how I do it...I use my iPod while I'm on the bike, because reading, well, the legs slow down so I don't jostle the book, which gives me about 15 miles an hour speed. With the music, I have all fast paced, upbeat tempo stuff, and my average RPMs ate right at 90, which is 18mph. Then, during the faster paced parts, the chorus, etc, I push it up to 95-100rpms, which gets my speed up to just under 20mph for those intervals. I can keep it at that speed for aout 45 seconds to a minute before I have to drop back down to 90 (and breathe...lol) Later I'll list the playlist for last night, and tonight, if I am on the bike.
All right...time to get back to work.....Happy Thursday, chickies!
WEll... a lot happened last night here!! TONS of posts to read! Went to the going away dinner for our friend Annie, who was quite surprised and very happy. It was good.
Came home, got up at 2:30 and had to -scream- twice at the annoying little high school snots next door to us who think it's fine to play really loud music with loud bass all night and yell and get drunk on their porch, because as we all know, no one else in our building needs to work or would like a little quiet at all. *fume* I told them if they did it again, I was calling the cops, because they do this EVERY SINGLE NIGHT from 11pm to about 5am, and I am freaking sick of it. GOOD. Teach the little brats a lesson. That's just rude!! GAH!
So I slept in until 9am today... which made for a -very- hot bedroom and me covered in blankets. 93 here today. YECH!
I decided to weigh myself, because I'm crazy, I guess, and today my scale said.... *drum roll please*
176.6
WOOOOO!!! YEAAAAH!!! I'm SO happy! Food water and exercise have totally SUCKED and I've gone down almost 5 lbs! YEAAAH!!!
Anyway here's today's plan:
Food is not being journaled because I have no idea what today will bring... I promise to eat -something- halfway decent, but no idea what that will be, folks.
Workout is about 12 hrs of cooking, chopping, prepping, and getting everything in the world ready to go for my friends' wedding tomorrow. ACK!!!
So I have 3 friends coming over this afternoon/evening to help me with this, plus the hubby today, too, which is good. I'm going to cook the pasta asap, because I have 12 lbs to cook (12 lbs DRY) and sooo that'll take a long time.
I'm going to head out to eat my breafkast, whatever it happens to be, but I wanted to just quick update n stuff. I'll post later w/ comments, I swear!
Took me a while to get on here and post. My 7 year old has a playmate over, and our house is busy!! I am having a good morning .
I have had almost 60 oz. of water!! But, I have not exercised yet. That will have to be later. I plan to do the bike again. I am a bit sore today from yesterday. I really want to see 50 miles pedaled!!! I am almost there.
Rysa - How goes it today??? You did such a fantastic job yesterday!! You blew us all away with drinking your water!! You can be the fearless leader . I was tempted to weigh this morning, but I didn't. I want it to be a surprise on next Tuesday.
Jennifer - Hope you are having a super day!! I say go for the 3 mile this afternoon. (Knowing you, you will do 4 miles!!)
Julie - Good afternoon, Maam!!! Are you drinking your water like a good challengee?? Have a good day!!!
Lucy - Glad you had a good time. Good luck with all your preparations today .
Well, I am off to tackle laundry and other unpleasant chores!!!
OK, so well...you all are doing so great that I think I will just comment on what you have been doing!
First off....congrats to Lucy who has finally lost those five pounds!!! Yea for you chickie! Hope you don't put it all back on now with all that cooking and good eatin you are about to do this weekend!!! LOL! Keep up the good work, chickie!
Lisa, way to go on the water! I was bad today and drank diet coke most of the day until I got home and I am starting on my 2nd 16 oz. glass today! Shame on me! I did get the exercise in this morning! Rode the bike for 20 minutes...about 6 miles...nothing exciting! Blah!
Jennifer...glad you have so much energy! Sorry you got elbowed last night by hubby, though! Ouch! I don't know what you decided to do for exercise and it doesn't really matter as long as you did it!!! You are kicking all of our a**es with the exercise this month, chickie! Making up for lost time, eh?
Rysa...I plan to join you all...next week! This week has just sucked for me regarding food! Can't seem to get it under control! I'm just a mad woman!! No PMS either!!! I am drinking the water and exercising and even that is a chore!! UGH! I need something to get me moving here!!!
Elisha...hope you enjoyed your day with your Grandma! She sounds like a wonderful person! Way to get back on track with your exercise too! I know it's a challenge for all of us some days/weeks!!!
We took my car in to get it detailed (inside and out) tonight! It will be done tomorrow. I saw a car they did today and it looks great, so can't wait to get mine back all shiny and stuff! It's a 6 year old Taurus and has never been detailed. Hubby is doing this for me for my birthday (which is Sunday, in case I haven't mentioned that enough!!! )
That's about it for now. I'm not commenting on my day other than all that!
Hi all! Wow - I missed posting yesterday and there was so much to read! I didn't work out today because I have been walking so much that I'm getting a callous on the inside of my big toe This always happens when I start walking a lot. So tonight I decided to just do laundry and soak my aching feet! Yesterday I walked for an hour.
My food is pretty good today. Since its so hot here (95 today I think) I knew I wouldn't want to cook so I bought fixins for a salad from the cafeteria at work. I already have lettuce at home but I tend to buy other stuff for a salad & then dread cutting everything up & washing it so sometimes it will go bad. So this was the perfect solution! I bought just enough for our toppings today & voila! Dinner is served!
Lucy - 176.6!!!! Yay!
Jennifer - what a good idea for the low fat nachos. I hate to sound dumb, but what's "taco meat"? Ground meat with taco seasoning? Just want to make sure there isn't something already prepared out there that I don't know about!

I found some really good pictures (NOT!) of me back in 1998 when I was my heaviest (around 200lbs). I wouldn't show these to anyone else because I look so hideous, but I want you to see that over the last 6 years, I have been working at trying to lose some of that disgustingness! So the first two pictures at the bottom are then...
We just got these pictures back and I wanted you to see almost the same pose 6 years later! I'm not a megababe yet, but I'm so much closer than I was!!! LOL!
