I finally figured out how to make an avatar small enough, yet clear enough to use here! Yea! So, here's one of my baby and me! Same day we took the family picture!

And thank you, Lisa for such a wonderful response!

Hugs,

Evening ladies!

Today was ok. I didn't get any exercise though. I had planned to get up early and workout, then do a few other things around the house, then leave for Grandma's around 10:00. As it turned out, I didn't even wake up until almost 11:30--I forgot to set my alarm! So I just got ready and left. Grandma bought me some stuff on a recent shopping trip. A new suede skirt--a size 16--and it fits! Yay! She also bought me some size 8 panties, and they fit too (I had been in a size 10 at one point). It's kind of weird to have your grandma buy you underwear, especially since they are sexy little lacy ones. Then again, she helps me do my laundry, and she sees the sexy little lacy underwear that I usually wear, so I guess she was just getting what she thought I'd like. And they are very cute.

Anyway, but calories came in at 1440 today. I think I might grab something else to munch on though, probably crackers, or popcorn while I watch a movie. Dunno. I adjusted my goals on my DietPower software, because it was set to be at 200 by August 1, and since I'm not close enough yet it's been giving me calorie budgets of about 600, which is just ridiculous. So I set it again to be at 195 by September 1, which is still ahead of where I want to be, but much more manageable, since it gives me about 1800 calories per day. I think that since it had been budgeting me around 1300, not only was that a hard goal for me to meet, but my weight loss actually slowed down. I know, I know, if I had been exercising everything would have worked out just fine, but as you all know that didn't happen.

Julie--You're doing so great! I need to take some inspirational pictures of myself too! What an adorable family you have! Keep up the good work, chick!

Ok, I'm going to go watch my movie now, and find some low-cal munchies. Have a good night everyone!

Hey, everyone...

Didn't float away. Could have, since I stopped counting water at 64 oz, but drank like three bottles later. Gotta admit - it helps that it's 90 degrees and we have no a/c.

I'm SO exhausted. I did do my exercise, but all unwillingly. I spent the day running around with a 4 and 7 year old doing errands. Then I picked up an 8 year old, travelled to church, played games (how DOES the pudgiest person at church get stuck as games director???) with a bazillion energetic kids, and came home. But my day wasn't over. No. My son didn't follow me into the dining room. I putzed about, cleaning and what not. Finally went to check on him. He's lying on the couch, looking dazed and confused. Run a hand over his head and discover he's pumping out heat. Tylenol, snuggles and walks to sleep later, he's finally out and cool. So I jumped on the bike, did 20 minutes, crunches, and now I'm going to go fall over. Meanwhile, my day started great with a trail mix bar, then a salad and slice of whole wheat bread. Then I added a plain hamburger at church (not much choice), peppers, and... some TWERP brought around a tray of mini cream puffs. And some bigger TWERP ate one. So you'd think her sweet tooth would be satisfied. NO, she had to go and get a piece of chocolate zucchini snack cake. Fortunately, I stopped there, so I think I'm still under 1200. But I'm starving.

Julie - great pictures! You are ON your way!

Lisa - WAY to go yesterday and today! You are an inspiration and are doing fab! Keep it up!

Other replies when I don't need to prop my eyes with toothpicks.

Okay. Off to bed.

Thanks for the support, all. I thought about having to admit any further overeating while at that hideous buffet of fat tonight.

Default An article worth reading

Morning Ladies!
I get an article a day from True Star Health and this one, since muscle vs. fat was mentioned by Jaymi the other day, is worth reading. Just clearing up some myths and stuff about diets/exercise/etc.

Enjoy!

Going down to do my aerobics this morning! Did part of my new DVD last night and am happy to say that I could do *most* of the advanced moves until they had me *standing* on my head with one leg in the air! Also couldn't do anything that required me to lift both my arms and my legs off the ground at the same time! UGH!! I will have to work up to that! BUT...I do feel that this is something I *need* to do to help me with:
1) better posture
2) toning
3) overall meditation

That's it for this morning, chickies! Hope you have a great day!

Oh, Elisha...I'm ON for that exercise challenge next week! You name it! Make it HARD!

Julie, I really enjoyed the article. I clicked on the blue words 'the scale' - it led to another interesting article about weighing. Thanks, Julie!

Rysa - Glad to hear you didn't float away . Also, if I forgive you for the mini cream puff and the cake, do you think you could find a way to forgive me for some chocolate chip cookies??? The ooey gooey kind?? I made them for the boys, but I had some myself last night. But I DID drink my water and I DID exercise!!! Let's start fresh today! BTW, is it almost time for you guys to start back school? We start really early this year , the very first of August!! But, we get more vacation time during the school year, which is nice, since DH is a teacher too!!! I love his vacations!! We will get a full week at Thanksgiving, for example. Didn't you say you taught English?? That is my love!! I was originally an English major, but changed to Early Childhood (which I also love!!!) Do you love to read??? I really do! I am getting overrun with books!!
*sorry to ramble.

I ended up having a pretty yucky evening yesterday. I burned a birthday cake UP in the oven while I exercised!!! So, I am re-baking this morning. Today is DH's birthday!! He is 31! Such a baby! I am much older - 34!!

Well...off to start my day...drink my water...ride the bike...and NO COOKIES!!!!!!!!

Morning!

Julie - thanks for the article. Perhaps my scale isn't moving cause I'm replacing fat with muscle. Maybe. I mean, my size 20 pants are practically falling down my hips, so I gotta be doing SOMETHING right.

Lisa - My poor kids are being deprived of sweets cause I could not resist sampling if I baked them anything! :-) So, sure, you're forgiven. Must be great having your dh home with you - my husband was GOING to be a teacher but decided he didn't like it. He switched to computer science and loves his job. Which is good. But he only gets 3 weeks vacation a year, so I have MUCH more time off. Leads to two problems - one, I don't get to spend as much time with him, and two, he gets this "you-should-clean-the-house-when-you-are-home" mentality. *BZZZZ* Wrong answer! LOL I am doing my OTHER jobs now - scrapping for hire and tending two active kids. But I am taking a break from cleaning now. I'm not a total jerk - just a whiner! :-)

I had a dual major in English and Elementary Education. Thought I'd teach 3rd grade. HA! Ended up subbing at middle schools and the principals LOVED me. When it came time to get hired, I got offers from middle schools and "we'd like to keep you as a sub" from the elementaries. Again, wrong answer, lol. So I started teaching 7th grade and could not imagine doing anything else now. I LOVE seventh graders. My English degree came in handy when the "highly qualified teacher" law went through - my certification was still acceptable because of my degree. Then, my English background got me the position of Drama teacher. Let me tell you, on those days when you could just quit - I could NEVER quit Drama!

I ADORE reading. I read all the time. I would read when I biked, if I had one of those little book racks. Can't hold the book, though - it bobbles too much and hurts my eyes. We have TONS of books. My daughter had to do an assignment for school to count all of "her" books. Just children's books in our house? 786 books. And that was 7 months ago. There is no room in the house (except the bathroom) that doesn't contain bookshelves. And we have to have two canvas bags for every trip to the library! Sometimes I think if I hadn't read so much as a kid I would have been off my fat bottom more and have better habits now. But, hey, in this case I'd have to say it's worth it! :-)

Well. Must clean, drink water, scrapbook, feed the kids lunch, go to the post office, etc. etc. Check in later!

Hello Everyone! I read this question on another thread and I thought I’d post it on here!

Tell us something about you that No one knows!!

Hmm something about myself that no one knows! Well I actually went to school for my Nurses Aide in High School and got my license.. But as some of you know to keep it active you have to work in a nursing home… which I hate. So I let my license go.. I also went to school for Cosmetology after I had my son in 1997. I worked at Regis Hairstyles in the mall for about 6 months, but I just recently let that license go too.. I don’t like hair either!

Julie- You look great Chick!!! You inspired me to do a before and after of 165 to 142. BTW great article! Tell ya more about it later!

Rysa- Scrapbooking looks fun.. But how do you find the time?!? I still don’t have the time to put the pictures in the photo albums!!

Elisha- So where are ya gonna wear that itty bitty skirt and panties?!?!?

Lucy, I think I found those lbs you lost!!! Ha, Ha!

Jenn- I saved that pic of that tazar.. I think I’m going to make it the wall paper on my computer!!

I know I have a lot of other comments I could make.. But I can’t remember!! So forgive me for today~ I just got the baby to sleep so It’s time to exercise now… or it’s not gonna happen! Talk with ya later!

Smile TGIF, Chickies!

Wow, it took me a long time to get my poop together & get here today! I worked through lunch, so now I'm stealing a few minutes to get my thoughts down.

Last night we made whole wheat pasta & meatballs & hubby's awesome sauce. Did the assembly line deal with the leftovers, so that was 10 baggies of meatballs & pasta. There was a lot of sauce left over, so we browned some 93% lean ground beef, rinsed & drained all the fat out of it, and made a meat sauce. Boiled up more whole wheat pasta, and got another 13 meals from that. Woo Hoo! Tonight will probably be a little more cooking & prepping of stuff for the next few weeks, to make life easier, and have more variety available.

Today's plan so far:

Breakfast
1 apple & cinnamon cottage double
16 bite size mini wheats

Lunch
3/4 cup whole wheat rotelle
2 meatballs w/ 1/4 cup sauce
1/3 cucumber, sliced, with Nakano rice vinegar
4oz diced fruit, drained.

Afternoon exercise
Housework up the wazoo including laundry, mopping and vacuuming
Minimum 30 minutes on the bike, or 2 miles WATP, TBD later

Dinner
TBD- we'll see what we start making tonight & go from there.

That's really all the fun & excitement...

Lucy- FRICKING AWESOME, girlfriend! Way to go with the 5 pounds! I'm so proud of you!!!!!

Julie- HOTTIE! You look amazing, chica- look how far you have come. Damn, I don't have the nerve to post my before pictures. Maybe when I get halfway to where I want to be....You kick butt, woman!

Michelle- owwie on the callus! The taco meat...I'm the queen of advanced preparation...hubby & I brown 93% lean ground beef, then rinse it several times during the bworning (colander, hot water, brown it some more) to get as much of the fat out as possible. It ends up being 97%+ lean when we're done. Then, add taco seasoning and follow package instructions for whichever brand- our local store, Publix, has a great seasoning- better than Old El Paso, etc. When it's done simmering, I let it cool, and then measure it out into Ziplock freezer baggies. 3/4 cup for nachos, and 1/2 cup for taco meat rollups (taco meat, shredded cheese in a lowfat tortilla with fat free sour cream-add lettuce & tomato if you like, and a very filling, tasty, quick meal) Then, when I'm packing lunch in the morning, I can grab & go- plenty of quick things that require no thought & are already measured out for my #s. I don't think they make anything for retail sale, but I can be hired! LOL. Too bad all us chickies don't live near each other!

Lisa- Damn, woman! Up to 43 miles???? I'm falling behind! Rather, to catch up, I'd be missing my behind!

Elisha- Woo Hoo! There's something about sexy undies that can put a spring in your step. Great going with the smaller size!

Rysa- I'm also an avid reader. I think I'd rather read than anything else...And I can't part with my books. They are like friends- you can't just toss them. And you can barely tell that I've read them- they are always in pristine condition.

Jaymi- Good question! For me, it would have to be that I went to school for elementary education, and then after college, to have a "fall back" plan, became a certified nail tech. Never used that certificate, having fallen into banking.

Have a wonderful day, chickies! If I missed anyone, it's because this took 3 hours to write in!

I almost feel guilty for checking in here after the "food" day I have had! Exercise and water went well, though. Another 1.75 miles walked this morning! That alarm clock really helps me to get up, I tell you!

Bad stuff I ate today:
My partner in crime at work bought me a NON sugar free Raspberry-something Latte this morning for my birthday! She was so sweet when she gave it to me and said "I told them to make it low fat!" It was soooooo orgasmic!!! LOL!
Then for lunch I had a HUGE bagel sandwich with tons of turkey, ham and bacon and some lettuce and onion! It was awesome! While I was waiting for my order, I kept looking at the delicious baked goods in the counter and finally broke down (blaming it on my birthday and the lack of probably NO birthday cake) and got this huge Turtle muffin! I did share it with my partner in crime, however! We split it 50-50!
OK, well that's it, so far! I told hubby I wasn't eating anything else tonight! That's a lie and I know it!!!! We are going to our local "Parties in the Park" where there is food and drink and live music again tonight! I'm sure I will get SOME sort of adult beverage! I told him this was my birthday weekend and I am going to do whatever I want!!! He just laughed!

So I got my car back from being detailed today. Hubby did it for me for my birthday, but they did a crappy job! He feels bad, but nothing he can do about it! They actually completely missed the whole dash board! What's up with that????

Well, that's about it for now!

OH, whoever was asking about prepared taco meat in the grocery. Ole El Paso (Yellow container) has "frozen" taco meat both chicken and beef! Someone at work brought it in the other day! It's good, too! So, there ya go!

Talk to all you chickies later! You all are rocking! I promise...after Monday I will get back on the food wagon again!!!! But until then, I will do my daily aerobics and once this weekend (or more) I will do my toning routine!

Have a great one!

I've been....ironing. I have ironed everything I could get my hands on. This day ended up being one of those that was so stressful and yucky that I just wanted to jump in my bed and have a good cry. It felt good to iron and put all of those neat creases in the clothes...it helped me tremendously .

I rode 10 miles this morning on my bike (in 32 min.). Getting better. That puts me at 53 miles so far, which is a good thing, I think .

Food was decent. Could have been better, but to be honest, that was the least of my worries today. Water could have been MUCH better. Rysa - I will drink extra tomorrow!!! Toning today was arms!

I've got more to say, but I am really tired, and just want to go to bed! I'll check back in tomorrow .

Hey everyone! Quick check-in because hubby just went out to go get a drink with the boys... my daughter is sleep, and I need to go exercise... but instead I am here! I'd probably be eating though... so Rather be here! I am soo disappointed in myself... my hubby keeps getting mad at me,, because I kept getting depressed and pissed off... My clothes are getting tight and my stomach is SOOO bloated! I know it could be signs of PMS.. but I doubt it!! I know that I've been eating wrong.. If the scale is right... I gained 5 lbs... 3 back in this week.. That is just cause for me to go jump in the ocean! Weigh-in is tomorrow, so no chance of seeing a loss for this week, and I’m sure in the **** not going to take measurements... The TV dinners I usually get were way too expensive this week, (not on sale) so I have to eat the regular foods.. Well I'll go ahead and stop all of this whining.. my day wasn’t bad really, just the way I feel inside! Like a failure.. anyways.....

Anyways I gotta get my butt up. My daughter has woke up.. so no exercise for me.. I'd love to have a lOOOONNNGG hot bath right now and read my book... but too bad. Tomorrow I have to get up and exercise no matter what! 30 minutes isn't enough to burn off the calories I ate today!!! I didn't eat too much.. but I ate the Shepard’s pie twice, some fruits, and today I cooked:

Campbell's® 2-Step Garlic Pork Chops

Prep. time: 10 min. Cooking time: 10
Serves: 4

Source: Campbell's® Quick and Easy Cookbook

Ingredients

1 tbsp. vegetable oil
4 boneless pork chops
1 clove garlic, minced
1 can (10 3/4 oz.) Campbell’s® Cream of Mushroom,
Soup OR 1 can (10 3/4 oz.) Campbell's® 98% Fat
Free Cream of Mushroom Soup, Soup
1/2 cup milk

Directions
HEAT oil in skillet. Add chops and garlic and cook until
browned.
ADD soup and milk. Heat to a boil. Cover and cook over
low heat 10 min. or until done. Serve with couscous or
rice if desired.
Tips Also delicious with Campbell's® Cream of Mushroom
with Roasted Garlic Soup; omit garlic.

So... I don't know how many calories that is.. but the rice alone was probably 300... so who knows! Well seriously gotta go.. Hope everyone is well!

Evening ladies!

Today was ok. Worked all day (did 300% of my sales goal, so that's good--they're going to think I'm Super Cosmetics Manager or something!), then went to a dinner party with my best friends from school. One of them I see all the time, the others I haven't seen since I graduated in December. Cass has a baby now, and a good job, and a nice apartment, as do all the rest of them (with the exception of the baby). I'm so jealous I could just scream. We had a really good time just catching up, but then on the way home I got really depressed. I want my life to work out NOW!

But anyway, calories came in at 2200, which is high, but there was a dinner party with wine and dessert involved. Here was today's menu:

Breakfast: coffee with creamer, eggs, toast
Lunch: salami, lettuce, lf mayo, swiss cheese on white bread, crackers, peach, diet cherry coke
Dinner: wine, water, pork loin, mashed potatoes, green beans, cornbread, a spoonful of fresh cherry cobbler, and a very small slice of chocolate chip cake

Anyway, on the way home I stopped at the grocery store and picked up some healthy foods for my lunch this week--the mini cheddar rice cakes I love, wheat bread, tortilla wraps, V8, etc. I know that I'm going out to eat a few times this week, so the meals I'm eating in need to be safe. I have to crack down. I can do this. I know I can.

But right now I can't do anything else without some sleep. Have a great night, chickies!

Default Sat AM check in

I've done my miles this morning on the bike. Did 6.5 miles in 22 minutes which ain't bad considering this is only the 2nd time I've been on that bike all month! I always feel like I've really had a workout when I get off! More so than my wATP tapes! Hmmmm!

Lisa...ironing....I've never thought of anything related to laundry as therapeutic, but hey...if it works for you...go for it! And...I see you have lost 5.5 lbs this month! What's up with that???? ARe you keeping that quiet or what??!!! WAY TO GO, CHICKIE!!!

Elisha...jealousy is a powerful motivator sometimes! But don't let it get the best of you! You are living your life right now as it should be and you are working toward goals that you want, so be happy with what you have and what you can do. I'm sure the one with the baby would trade places with you in a heartbeat some days! Hang on...next week we are both going to kick some a**!!!!! ((((((((((((Elisha))))))))))))))))

Jennifer...tried to catch you again last night...I guess we are playing IM tag...you're it!!! LOL!! Way to go on the exercise this month! You are kicking some serious butt, (insert name of athlete of choice here!)

Jaymi...next week is the week, girl! We are all going to get back on it again and get things going before August begins! That way we have a fresh start in August! Hang on!

Rysa....you are a scholar, girl!!!!! And I'm sure that the scale isn't showing much because you are gaining muscle and losing the fat (replacing one with the other ) It will start to show a loss soon. Or maybe you will just be a "slow" loser like me! It takes forever for me to lose 1# unless I really kick it up!!! We will do this together! That's what's so great about this group, we can all relate with one another and no one judges us! Next week is going to be the big week for all of us, I can just feel the momentum building!!!

That's it for now, chickies...I have lots of work to get done today so I don't have to do anything tomorrow! Should burn off some calories doing housework!

Ohhh... *groans of muscle aches and foot blisters*

I think I lost 8 lbs yesterday from sweating. The wedding was beautiful, and I'm so happy for my best friend. Everything was awesome, except for the fact it was over 100 degress outside. Jumped in the ocean a little after the ceremony in my tank top & jeans... don't care, it felt good.

Anyway today is the reception, which is a huge party up at our friends' house from 3pm to... um... when we all pass out. We're camping up there tonight and taking the dog with us, so that'll be better for everybody!

Anyway I'll post a real post tomorrow when I have some real brain matter in my head again and I can think straight! Hope everybody is having a great weekend and I swear I will actually read the posts tomorrow!!
